Awful, awful, awful
I signed up with AT & T and, since they combined their service for telephone, internet and Long Distance, wireless, billing got very complicated. During the solving on billing issues, I was mislead and tricked to go into contract with an unknown Long Distance Carrier - SILV Communications. They bill through AT & T by USBI.
MY telephone bill per month starting Feb 09 to Jun 09 ranging from $162.74 to $913.49. I spoke with more than 10 agents in regards to straighening out my telephone bill, and I have to call them every month for adjustment, my adjustment can highest adjustment was $636.26.
I felt very painful to have to dealing with telephone mis charge every month.

Scam artists
I recently got back from college, and during my time there, my credit was nearly ruined, and I was charged 300 dollars, that I didn't have, because AT&T refused to run off my phone service.
I contacted the company to get a phone line at the dorms I was staying at, so I could stay in contact with my parents. After the semester was almost over, and with a month left in the semester, my phone mysteriously stops working. After MANY attempts to call the company and figure out what was going on, I finally got fed up and disconnected my phone, and go home.
Fast forward 6 months later, we receive a bill in the mail (at my parents house) for 300 dollars from at&t. Aggravated, we call the phone company, only to find out they reconnected the phone WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION. When we ask them to disconnect it again, and wave these fees, considering I didn't even live there anymore, they start trying to bribe us to stay by saying they could get us a 200 dollar federal voucher if we stayed. Immediately, the red flag for scam went up, and we declined.
AT&T in Carthage, TX is ripping off the government to try to keep customers from disconnecting! AND reconnecting service after people have been disconnected without the person's permission!

Wall-Phone in-line DSL Filter
When we signed up for DSL service, we ordered in-line filters for all of our desk phones, plus the wall-phone in-line DSL filter. We received all of the desk phone in-line DSL filters, but now the wall-phone filter. I have inquired several times about the wall-phone in-line DSL filter, but keep getting a computer automated response, but no human being to explain my complaint. I still would like to receive my wall-phone in-line DSL filter. Having to have the phone on the desk, it creates a problem of extra things on the desk when originally the phone was on the wall.
Please look into this which would be greatly be appreciated.
Thank you

ATT sucks so much

Horrible Business Ethics
My experience with AT&T is one of the worst encounters I've had when dealing with a service provider.
I have their 1.5mbps dsl service at work which is something that I use for light browsing for making online orders and for entertainment. For a few months I noticed that my bill was around $40 higher, but I just thought it was from long distance and didn't pay much attention. Then I started to get calls from AT&T.
ATT: "Hello, would you like to upgrade your service to 6.0mbps free for charge for the next 3 months?"
ME: "No thank you"
ATT: "6.0mbps can do wonders for your business"
ME: "No thank you, I'm sorry but I'm busy right now, have a nice day!"
ATT: "Sir could you verify one more time that you do want the upgrad..."
*CLICK* (I hang up)
They called my business literally twice a day for 2 weeks and the calls got more and more annoying and aggressive to the point where I stopped being polite.
Then I got an email...
ATT: This is your confirmation email stating that you have upgraded to the 6.0mbps service. Blah blah blah...
(Then in fine print: "regular charges do apply when the promotional 3 months have passed please call customer service if you wish to opt out of our promotion)
I look at my old bills to make sure they didn't pull other bullshit tricks out of their asses, and I notice why my bill was higher the past few months. They had upgraded me to 3.0 from 1.5 without my consent nor any notifications. I called them to confront this and the first representative was very polite.
REP1: "I'm seeing that the upgrade to the 3.0 happened back in August, I apologize about that sir, let me transfer you to our dsl department and they'll adjust your account and refund the overcharges"
ME: "Thank you very much, I appreciate it."
REP2: "Hello, blah blah blah, how can I help you? Oh, I need to transfer you to *inaudible*
REP3: "Hello, how can I assist you?"
ME: "My internet service was upgraded without my consent, and I've been billed for it"
REP3: "Sir you are not being billed for the 6.0"
ME: "Yes, but my service was upgraded from 1.5 to 3.0"
REP3: "No, you have always been on the 3.0"
ME: "No, I've been on 1.5 since forever"
REP3: "I'm not seeing it"
ME: "Can I talk to your supervisor?"
*CLICK* I get hung up on...
Their customer service is abysmal and they will do sneaky things to steal money from you.
You should stay away from signing a contract with them if possible.
By the way, I've done speed tests multiple times after I got my 6.0 "free upgrade" and my download speed has never exceeded 2.0mbps... which is the same as when I was using my 1.5...
Yeah AT&T is a sham

Service
AT&T Service Sucks and this is in plain English!.
Another company needs to come in and replace them; we need more choices as consumers in who we want service from, in Orlando Fl. the only company that we can get phone service from is AT & T, we don’t have a choice to change other companies are not in our “Area” Who decided this???... Why should we have to continue to deal with a company who does not take pride in delivering the best service?
We need more choices… Why keep a business in business is they are not doing their jobs, it’s us who pays their salaries; it’s us who keep them on top. Wake up Americans….

Scammers
I have spent about 50 hours this month alone talking to there technical department about internet and telephone connection problems. (not my equipment) Because I have several friends who are also with AT&T with the same problems. It has got so bad this last couple of weeks I don't feel I should pay my $300.+ a month.

Commercial advertising
I can't stand AT&T commercials with their "minutes". Especially the mother and son commercial, it's like they're staring at each other for a few seconds before the commercial ends and there are other commercials like that too. Whenever I see it, I just flip or turn away from the screen. It's really that annoying. Stop!

Misrepresentation
I was told that if I subscribed to AT&T's Internet service, I would receive a check for $175.00. What I received was a flyer in the mail directing me to a website which said I was eligible for a $50.00 gift card. What can I do? ghe only reason I left my previous Internet service was the promise of the check.

Door to Door Sales
Several months ago a salesman came to our door. We politely said, "no thank you" after explaining to him we were already happy with the services we have contracted. He returned the next day. Apparently he did not take our answer for face value. Understandable, since sales are important. We politely said no again. He left. No problem.
A few days ago, another sales person returned to our house. My husband talked with her explaining that we were again happy with our current services and that we were not interested. She pushed a little harder but eventually left.
Today another saleswoman came to our door. I said no thank you. She left. Not one hour later she came back. I chose to ignore the door bell. She continued to ring the bell and actually yelled through my window for me to come talk to her.
I would appreciate it if they could stop sending sales people to our home. It has become harassing now. We have been clear with our answer. No Thank you. We are already phone service customers of theirs and it was over the top rude how we were treated.
