such a huge hassle
I switched my cell, home phone, internet and television over to At&t from Charter Communications. It has been a big hassle from day. Extremely poor customer service. Orders not put in correctly. Rebates impossible to get because the rebate site either does not exist or representative claims to have put it through, only to call back and claim there is no record of it. At&t sucks and I do mean every aspect of them. I would not recommend them or their services to my worst enemy, which @ present time is At&t. This is called a "cruel irony." Guess being a billion dollar company renders them not responsible to take care of their customers professionally. At&t, you should be ashamed of yourselves!!!

Charges for troubleshooting
Last month my phone stopped working out of the blue. The phone company sent someone out and said it came from the inside. On our phone bill they charged us $85.00 for them to trouble shoot. When did it become a standard to charge someone for looking into the problem up front? It used to be part of the service you had for paying the monthly bill. With this kind of service I might as well cancel my house phone and maintain my Verizon cell phone as the sole phone. At least they know how to work with their customers!!! Where did the friendly BellSouth company go...

Privacy abuse
Problem is that individual employees of this company have been witnessed as mischievous and have been said to listen on phone calls and hack into personal computers that goes beyond NSA regulations for such behavior. Sadly government is stopping lawsuits against the NSA. The government should allow for class action lawsuits against AT & T for privacy abuses though! It is sad but true locals are claiming government is not corrupt and that redress is unnecessary according to guest speakers visiting churches and colleges.

poor customer service
I had ordered new dsl line for my business at my home, after connected computer, modem and phone jack, wasn't working, so called them to make an appointment for technician to come here and fix the problem, they told me that they will call me tomorrow by 2p.m since it was 11p.m, so I waited, but no phone call from them, so I called them and confirm the appointment on 29th between 8a.m to 12noon, but today(28th) the technician suddenly showed up, although it wasn't problem for me since I wanted get the dsl connection asap, after set up, I still had a problem, but the technician said he is here to fix the outside of dsl line, so he can't help, so I called up the att customer service number and now they are saying they can not find my dls number information so I need to call to 858-522-8838, which I called and told what happened, right after I told him (very unfriendly guy), he just transfer to other department (seems like he wasn't even checking my dsl number to get information, and he didn't say anything to me ether) and I have talked the other department that he transferred, and they transferred me again, now I am somehow connected to sales person and again I was transferred to 2nd tech support, so I told my problem (I have told my problem over 5 times at this point) and he said my order is canceled so I need to talk to billing department, he transferred to 858-522-8838 (billing department), at this point I was tired and frustrated, the lady who I talked was extremely rude to me on the billing department, and I think she didn't even fixed anything and suddenly (no word from her ether) transferred to 1st tech support, but my phone drop the connection so I called 858-522-8838 again, I told the customer support to my problem again, also informed my account was somehow canceled, and he checked for me and told me that my account wasn't cancel but there is some kind of problem, so he transferred to 2nd tech support and she (2nd tech support) told me that on technical date base side my account isn't cancel, but billing date base side my account is canceled (??), also I have tryed give all information to help her out (I am so tired to been making a mistake on my account), she seems be extremely annoyed about tried to help her out, after I tought everything is done, I again tried to go online, the internet isn't working, so I again called up 1st tech support and she told me I have to call tomorrow between 8a.m to 5p.m.
I have wasted my time lil less then 5hr with extremely rude at&t customer (billing) support.
When I call to At&t, more then 80% of the time I get bad, rude customer support, wonder how long do I have to talk tomorrow with these people.
At&t is the worst customer service I have ever had, (by the way imo, kaiser insurance, 1800contact, cox has great customer service)
Since I work for my self, I just can't believe how they can be rude to their customers, if I do this to my customers, Im out of business lol

$25.00 Gift Card
I signed up for paperless billing and was told I would receive a gift card.
"That didn't happen, I decided to call AT&T to inquire about it and was
told that they didn't have any knowledge of a reward for paperless billing. I am truly disappointed with the company and I have lost trust
in a company that would normally provide outstanding service and I
wonder why I was able to find a sight that they don't know about?

unfair business practices
I hope this post helps some unknowing victim from AT&T's all knowing power. I unfortunately have no recourse and I am now being forced to pay $1005.62 to AT&T for a business line that was never installed properly and never worked.
This happened because I ended up cancelling a business line because of the inferior and extremely frustrating experience I had trying to get them to fix what they had installed. To teach me a lesson, I can only assume, I was advised that I would still have to pay a termination charge and installation expenses because that was what the contract said and I signed it. The total for all that is $1005.62, which despite my repeated pleas with their organization, I have been told that no one there will reverse those charges and they will stand no matter what. It is just my fault for signing a contract with them in the first place.
I will not bore you with the details of how all this happened, because honestly, it doesn't matter. I am sure everyone knows what it is like to try to get quality service and personal care from an organization that employs 294.600 people worldwide. Essentially, they are a corporate bully, functioning behind the guise of an efficiently run organization. I just hope that any small business owner considering signing a contract with them will read this and stop and think very carefully before they do. I would hate to see anyone else become a victim as I have.
If AT&T was a properly sized organization and not just another corporate bully, this would have never happened to me. It just reinforces my belief that corporate America is very bad for America. It has destroyed people's souls and sense of fairness and created an environment where this kind of thing can occur. Even though I have escaped the brutal employment of these places, I am still falling victim to their power as a consumer. Beware who you do business with people. Smaller is better.

No Friends & Family Plan
I recently made the switch from Sprint to an AT&T plan and have noticed that of all the cell phone providers, AT&T does not have anything similar to a "Friends & Family" plan. As a consumer, this is very disheartening and is one of my biggest complaints.
Sprint just instituted an unlimited mobile to mobile feature for its subscribers. AT&T, should at least create some sort of mobile to mobile benefits (even a limited feature such as T-Mobiles's "Fave 5's) to give its overcharged subscribers a break. They nickle and dime consumers for absolutely everything.

Total Rip Off
We have been told lie after lie from the day we switched our service to AT&T. First, there is NO REBATE, the contact we signed - they say is not valid. Not getting the internet speed that we signed up for because they say someone called and lowered the spped. Not any one from my household called and lowered my internet speed. Why would I pay for one price of internet speed and then call and lower it and still pay the same price. Once my contact is up - we are aout of here! I will tell everyone and anyone that will listen just how HORRIBLE AT&T is. There is not one person that works there that can actually tell you the truth and every representitive cahnges their story. It is amazing!!! What a huge misatake we have made.
