Dishonesty
I signed up for AT&T wireless by bundling my home phone. I spent an extended amount of time going over what cost would be involved. There was no mention of an activation fee. I did not learn of this fee until after everything was activated, and acessories were bought. I called and complained and they said they would log the complaint. What I want to know is this a common practice of not disclosing all fees until it's too late? And I want to warn others of AT&T's dishonesty. Also the man logging my complaint lied about the rebate program: stating the reason I did not receive anything in the mail, they no longer use paper. I called the rebate # which told me they would mail me form and was clueless as to the no paper. It sounded to me as if it is a way of getting out of the rebate, making it hard to get so that it would remain unclaimed.

Fraud and cheating
AT&T allowed this company, who they claim no affiliation, to charge me for a voice mail service I did not authorize. Now I am being charge late fees added for not paying this bill. I feel AT&T is responsible since they allowed this to happen without my authorization.
I never wanted nor ask for a voice mail. Did not even know it was active until the charge showed up on my bill. I call the phone company and was told by a customer service that I automatically sign up when I opened a website. I continue not to pay for something I did not request. AT&T should be held accountable.

Blackberry Data Plan Consumer Fraud
I have the ATT family unlimited text, pictures, and videos for all lines on the plan. However, I purchased a new Blackberry Curve 8310 from ATT. Now, ATT refuses to provide the paid text, pictures, and video to the Blackberry. ATT policy is to charge a data plan fee on the phones it call smartphones in addition to the original text plan fee. So, they want you to pay twice for the same service. Blackberry has conspired with ATT, by only providing the "books", which are software unlocks for your device, if you pay them and ATT the data plan extortion fee. This is the scam. Build in extra software to charge consumers twice for the same service, the text, picture, and video service. Please... file complaints with your state's attorney generals office base on consumer fraud.

overcharge
I signed up for phone and internet with AT&T but I cancelled the internet the very next day, they would have to put in a new jack ($50.00) to use the internet. When I got my first month's bill for local phone service only it was $182.00 not only did they not disconect cable they said I had called and requested it again(2nd line I guess) . I got charged for two lines per month of internet plus the full package of phone. I turned them into PUCO-public utilities ETC.. they sent me to the comisssioner of Ohio and on to someone else. They ended up dropping most of the charges( lines packages, equip.ETC) and I cancelled my phone with them as well. You just got to climb the complaint ladder until someone gets sick of hearing you complain(along with explicits!!!).By the way stay as far away from AT&T as you can they ROB you!

Unauthorized charges
AT&T has found yet another way to steal money from people. We bought a pay as you go phone from radio shack (an authorized dealer) instead of monthly minutes you're supposed to add money when your account gets low. They don't inform you when you buy the phone and add your original deposit that after 90 days if you don't add money they completely take all of your deposit... in my case $31.00 in other cases this could be $500 or more
You wont find this information on the packaging or anywhere inside the manuals... Even worse, they will argue and lie on the phone about 'company policy' not allowing them to return these credits they stole.
I understand cell company's not returning unused minutes but these Go phones are not under contract and the terms and conditions should be clearly stated BEFORE you have made the purchase. AT&T must be getting millions in extra income by this new scam
P.S... Michelle Arnold is the customer service rep. there that lied to me.

Rebate Card never received
I have bought a Black Berry Pearl phone with $100 rebate. I have applied for the rebate. I never got any reply from AT&T. I have called AT&T rebate service number and the lady took my change of address and IMEI number which is missing in my application. I have sent all the required details in the form along with the Bill. But still they say IMEI number is missing.
When I call again for the status of the card, they say its timed out and they cannot send the rebate card to me.
This is really annoying and they cheated me of $100.
Please advice how can I get my $100 back.

wrong billing from package sold by AT&T representative
on Sept. 2, 2008, I called AT&T inquired on their TV ad on internet services for &19.95. Adam from AT&T answered my call and he can be reached at 205-901-3884. I was only trying to get internet services but Adam went on to convince me to keep telephone services, unlimited local and long distance calling in US for $24.95 and asked about TV/cable services and convinced me to include Dish Network for $34.95 with free DVR and the package for 3 services - internet, telephone and cable for $60 per month but we just need to sign for 2 years plan which can be transferred whenever we move to another place. AT&T told me not to call Comcast, our current provider coz AT&T will do the changes. An independent company called my husband Jimmy to confirm our desire to change from Comcast to AT&T which my husband agreed. Right after that (week of 9/10/08), our phone and internet from Comcast was no longer in service so I assumed that was the cancellation done by AT&T. At&T was only able to connect our telephone and internet on 9/22/08. The Dish Network came to install on 9/13/08 but the next day, their cable fell down so we did not have signal and it took a week before Dish Network came back to fix it.
When the 1st bill dated 10/20/08 was for $304.30 I immediately disputed the amount. There were charges for 615-646-2410 which we never had and numerous charges we never signed up for. I demanded a revised bill to just show $60 per month plus taxes that their sales agent sold us but they continue to insist $60 is not true & insist over $120 per month when we were enjoying $99 for 3 services from Comcast so why should I move if I couldn't save? Their agent is misleading consumers just to get us signed in for AT&T services. After days and long hours of negotiation I just agreed not to have phone services altho AT&T sold me telephone with the price of $60 per month. On 11/18, I received a revised bill for $183 & when I called AT&T for details of $183 they can't explain but just say after credits. I was just over a month with AT&T & there's no way my bill should be $183.
Please help fix this problem. AT&T agents are convincing consumers their price is way lower than their counterparts but after signing AT&T do not honor what their agents are selling. This is misleading consumers and unfair because we (consumers) make bad decisions to change service or companies only to find out they are even more expensive and waste a lot of your time negotiating with them. AT&T has to honor what their representatives are selling consumers, it was $60 per month for internet, phone and cable tv for our account under the name Jimmy Borja, account # 615-866-9154 133 0471.
I look forward that this gets resolved ASAP so I can pay my true bill.
Thank you.

charges on cell phone will I did not approve
I too was a victim of this "newmotion" Bid4Prizes scam! I actually heard about this on 96.3 radio. I could not believe it when I opened my AT&T bill and I had been charged the same fee! I called AT&T and it was on my bill for the last three months. I was careless and just paid the bill! AT&T said it was a third party charge. The email contact was [email protected], which did not work. This was the only contact information AT&T had for this company as well! AT&T did reverse two of the charges, however I am still working on the other one. This is an outrage! WHAT A SCAM! This company should be sued and all money returned!

False Advertisement
I was told that if I changed my satellite, internet, & phone service...I would be given 2 rebates for $50 each in addition to having an additional $50 credit to my monthly bill since I paid for the premium modem. I have yet to receive any rewards service & this website does not seem to exists. When I call AT&T, I get the runaround. PLEASE HELP !!
