Wants A Credit Card On File
I called AT&T this afternoon to add HBO. After the high-pressure salesperson disguised as a customer service rep sold me on 3 months of free HBO, he matter-of-factly mentioned AT&T required a credit card on file to effect the change. After having my credit card number stolen several times by unscrupulous call center people from various companies, I no longer give out my credit card over the phone. It's safer to use it on-line. There are way too many people working for call centers who steal credit card info and sell it to identity thieves.

I asked if I could go on-line and enter my credit card info. After placing me on hold for an eternity, the rep informed me that I could not. Of course, he wouldn't get a bonus if I did it on-line. So to hell with HBO. AT&T U-Verse is NOT getting my credit card number EVER!!! Nor is any other company that I do business with.

Overcharging for a telphone line that does not exist
We had AT&T U-verse bundle added to our household...has been a home wrecking experience and conflicting to us transacting any business from our family home and work from home office.

My telephones consisted of two land lines. One was a home phone line. One phone was dedicated to a single fax line. I have not had use of my fax line for over a month. We do not have call waiting caller ID that is very important to my household. Also, I must add that we got charged and paid for my fax phone line even though it was canceled over a month ago. We were then offered a $300.00 dollar cash back to no avail.

I have seen been put through the mill with what AT&T calls customer service and put on hold for over 45 minutes to have the phone hung up on me. Now after more than 8 hours of 45 minutes of holds. Nothing has been resolved.

My 4 computers work and run slow like molasses or a 90 year old person trying to run a marathon. They were down this Sunday April 11, 2010 and all I want is for this garbage of a service that they call AT&T bundle to be removed from my house so I can have an office that works!

When I called this nice young man helps restore my service and later it goes down again!They said that they updated some stuff to their internet u-verse and it kept shutting down and freezing all my computers in my home. Anybody that reads this please don't get this service for your telephone or computers. The Television is all right.

Let's get this straight U-verse bundle is suppose to work better than my standard service.

My Internet service is slower than broadband.

Now lets talk the installer ethics. The technician that installed my service left my wires not stapled to walls. The Belkins/back up battery-was placed on top of my glass desk. This Belkins battery backup power pack weighs as much as a bowling ball.Why was it not put on the floor?

Let's talk about misrepresentation. It's against the law!Please help us resolve al these issues.

Return of Equipment
I was honestly in love with U-Verse. I never had a problem with the service and I always had good customer service. I didn't have a problem until I was moving and had to return the equipment. I'm in the military and was moving to a different base. I called AT&T and told them I needed to return the equipment, they said they would send me a box for the equipment to be shipped back. I received the box and sent it from my new home. I called AT&T and let them know. That was over 1 year ago. I recently received a letter from a debt collecter stating I owed over $500 for unreturned equipment. I'm furious. I guess this is how AT&T gets you for more money. I have not paid the bill because AT&T won't handle it since its been sent to collections. The debt collector can't do anything except collect money. So my credit report it affected thanks to those sorry bastards.

Unacceptable Services
We signed up for AT&T U-Verse in April 2009, we have had nothing but headaches since. The service is inconsistent, freezing during the best play of the game or the climax of the movie, not to mention that while the TV service is frozen, the internet does not work, not does the telephone. That's right, if you are on a call it is dropped, writing an e-mail or blog, and it's lost! This is beyond just an annoyance, it is actually a safety concern... we have no phone service if AT&T freezes! Sometimes its only a 10 second freeze, but today we had a 45 minute freeze. Typically all services freeze 10 times per hour.

We have contacted technical support, have had multiple service men out to "fix" the problem. The service men have all tried something, changing a cable, adjusting the fittings, resetting the modem, etc, and they leave claiming the problem is resolved. Not ten minutes after the service man has left, the problem ALWAYS returns!

I have spent countless hours on the phone with tech support, they agree there is a problem with our service being disrupted, however the problem is not getting resolved. Tonight, I spoke with tech support after a service tech was at my house for 2 hours this afternoon. When the initial contact was unable to help, I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was frustrated and certainly let him know my frustration, and he said, "I can disconnect this call right now." I told him that I hoped the call was being recorded. Customer service has done nothing to compensate for our lack of service. Paying $160 per month for service that is not being provided is unacceptable.

AT&T should be ashamed of their services and of the lack of customer service from those who answer phones at AT&T.

How they are doing those thing?
Plz access multiple time before ordering this.You know why? I am sufferer, i order on march 3rd, after 1 month keep asking they send 5-6 time appoinment but technician could nt able to connect me in Bundle that i order thru online, with no contract.After 1 month they automatically they cancell without informing me and when i called back to get another appoinment, they processed a new order with current promotion( with 30 dollars more monthly fee and with contract), i was jsust blind about whole procedure, when i called after 2 days to confirm, then i realize they processed new weird contract based order.They think all the time customer fool and easy to do Business, this is happening every day.Plz donot order without aceesing details and donot believe that they will give you what they are saying, becoz every time they are doing business with us by making money.How, they can do that? Plz Judge yrself...

Do not waste your time with ATT U-verse
I ordered the ATT Uverse 450 and DSL elite June 14th. I have been given eveything but service. I am told it is not available to me and all kinds of other nonsense yet prin techs are running around left and right installing down and across the hall. Do not waste your time with ATT U-verse if you move into Broadstone Apartments in Fort Worth TX. The apartments are all hard wired for the service but all of the geniuses in customer service can not put your address in the system. Myself and several other residents have been attempting to get service for several weeks to months. Don't be fooled by the U-Verse pre-wiring in the closet save yourself days of aggravation and time by just going with direct tv or dish network. I promise in the end you will feel better going this route. Oh and by the way I was told by AT&T 911 is not even available real safe.

The only thing AT&T can do for me is hook my service up today not tomorrow not next week but today or I will continue to share my experience with everyone and if I have to I will create flyers to give to the residents of my 400+ complex advising of my experience and my neighbors. All of our apartments are wired for so I am sure there was some cost to ATT and they will care if it hits them in their bottom line. At this point I am so mad I would walk to hell and back to share my story, disapproval and anger. I will be posing video and or photos laters of the U-verse equipment in my closet. I even have pictures of the installation trucks in my parking lot.

My experience with Uverse has been a nightmare every step of the way. I should have dont my research online to find out about all of the angry victims who have gone through similar nightmares.

The installer was uninformed and lacked basic skill, as he forgot to install a vital piece, giving us cable but a phone line that did not work. The next technician came, pointed out all of the previous technicians mistakes but was not able to fix the problem. He said he would come back the next day (Saturday) or Monday. Of course, he didn't show up.

When I called customer service I was treated rudely, passed around because nobody had any answers, and hung up on several times. I will never do business with them again and will not rest until everybody I know is warned about their shoddy service.

Failure to release phone number for porting

AT&T is holding my 77-year-old mother's phone number hostage in retaliation for her canceling U-verse.

She was enticed last fall by a rebate offer from AT&T. She switched her cable, internet and phone service to U-verse. The remote was extremely user-unfriendly and three of us, with six college degrees among us, couldn't figure out how to get everything to work. Finally she said she wanted to switch back to the local cable company.

I wanted to make sure she would get to keep her phone number, so I checked online and learned that we needed to call the new company *first.* So that's what we did. The new company said they would send AT&T a "port order" to move the phone number, but that we would have to cancel the internet and cable TV service.

AT&T canceled the entire U-verse package before the phone number could be ported. I have called AT&T more than a half-dozen times, I have spent HOURS on the phone being transferred to as many as seven different people. I had two requests: Either (1) let us PAY one month's service just to turn the phone back on so that the number can be ported to the new company, or (2) place a recording on the number saying that it has been changed and giving the new phone number. During all my calls to AT&T, supposedly I had reached about a third tier of manager, who did call me back a couple of times to tell me that she was still working on the problem. But her last phone call was Friday, Feb. 19, and I have given up hope. I have filed a complaint online with the FCC, and I encourage you to do the same:

I'VE BEEN A ESTABLISHED CUSTOMER FOR AT LEAST A YEAR AND HALF... I EVEN HAVE AUTOMATIC BILL PAY ON MY ACCOUNT. I CANCELLED MY INTERNET B/C MY COMPUTER HAD A VIRUS. I CALLED TODAY 02/17/10 TO READD IT THEY SAID THEY NEED A CREDIT CARD ON FILE NOT A DEBIT BUT A CREDIT CARD. PER MATT THE REP THEIR NOT GOING TO USE IT BUT, THEY NEED IT TO COMPLETE MY ORDER. I TOLD HIM I DIDN'T HAVE ONE HE SUGGUESTED THAT I ASK SOMEONE I KNOW??? WTF Y WOULD I DO THAT...I WOULDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THAT AND IF UR NOT GOING TO USE Y IN THE HELL DO U NEED IT. LET ME US UR CREDIT CARD THEN. MATT TRANSFERED ME TO ANOTHER PERSON WHO SAID THE EXACT SAME THING ...IF THIS IS UR POLICY WHY TRANSFER ME TO SOMEONE WHO IS GOING TO SAY THE SAME THING ...WASTING MY DAM TIME!!! I WILL BE LOOKING FOR A NEW CARRIER!!
