Solicit Sale of Magazine by Deceit and Manipulation
Solicit Sale of Magazines by deception, misrepresentation, manipulation,
misinformation of the Company " Atlantic Circulation, Inc." On November the 15th a young women knocked on my door around 4pm.
Said she was inheriting a Marina from her grandparents in Naples Florida and wanted to talk to a marina owner, she was probably informed that i was a Marina owner from my neighbor who passed on the magazine subscription.
She told me she was from Texas, her father was in the military and won a really high award, but now own's a construction company.
She grew up with 4 brothers and received hand me down clothes, but now lives in Destin, Fl. Had a grandma living in my neighborhood. Had a miscarriage, Engaged 3 weeks ago, Worked and lived with her boss her cousin "slappy" who may yell at her on the phone when she called him using my phone as she had dropped hers down a toilet Asked for food which i thought odd. We gave her $180.00 cash and donated some childrens books to a hospital of her choice. She asked to put my husbands name on anther receipt to gain more points. Had no car or cell phone, Asked us to buy one more subscription for her cousin as he had not reached his quota. After a while feeling uncomfortable about the whole experience and feeling i had been deceived i recounted the events that took place. It didn't feel good or right. In the morning I called up the magazines office and spoke to a young girl called Nicki, and step by step went through with her the events that took place last night. She told me they do not donate books, She was not allowed to use 2 Receipts with different names on them if the individuals were not there to sign their names. She would receive more points that way which that was not allowed. Should not have asked for an extra subscription for her cousin because he had not reached his quota that was not allowed. She is probably not going to inherit a Marina in Naples with her Fiance who is a recovering drug addict, Nicki could not verify the marina story for the moment and would have to look into it. The marina story i think used to manipulate me into helping her and welcoming her into my home. Don't know about the miscarriage nor did i ask Nicki, but that's a good one to use for pity, Ask for food very odd, no cell phone odd, no car odd, fiance a recovering drug addict, pity ploy again and asked not to be judged . Very strange. I wondered why she was not in Naples helping to run the business that she and her fiance would be owning one day.
I was told by Nicki to write a letter and explain what had happened and i would receive a full refund. I think when selling subscriptions be honest and truthful. If you tell one lie you will loose all credibility and
trust, the person you wanted to do business with my change there mind later when they find out that they were lied to, no matter how small you think the lie is. I will never consider using this magazine subscription, i do remember a girl i helped 2 years ago and i swear i never remember receiving those magazines either. There is something amiss with a company that does not know that the sellers are lying and deceiving good honest hard working people who will want to help and give, but never deceived into giving money to type solicitation.

Magazine Scam
A young man came this morning selling magazines to earn points to win a trip. The boys are competing with the girls. He also said he had just waited for one of our neighbors (a name I didn't know, but since I don't know all the neighbors I didn't think much of it) while he checked on line to make sure everything was on the up and up. He said the neighbor verified that the company had execellant reviews and bought several magazines. I told him I would buy three and when the total came to $130.00 I said no way; however, I did buy one for $55.00. After he left we checked the company on-line and found numerous complaints. I have stopped payment on my check which cost me $25.00 but I figure I am better to lose $25.00 than to let some scammer have my $55.00. He did try to talk me into paying cash because they earned more points and received additional points if you are military, retired and several different professions were also listed to give them more points. The sad thing is the young man seemed very nice and he is probably being scammed by the company also. I also called our city office and of course they have no license for them and said to warn others.

No Magazine
On 17 December 2009 I placed an order for a family magazine titled "Family Fun 216" for my grandchildren in the amount of $30.36 with a process and handling fee of $13.00 but have not received anything. Not even a letter or phone call to explain the reason, if any delay. The magazine subscription was to be mailed to Shane Wells at: 566 Jacquie Drive, Clarksville, Tn 37042. Therefore, I am dmanding a complete refund to include the process and handling fee. The total amount is $49.00 which includes a 9.95% tax. Please rush my refund. My receipt number is 453438.

have received no magazined..they took my money!
In July at young man came to my door selling magazines, telling me he's trying to earn points for a trip. I ordered several magazines for my friends and their kids. but they todate have not received their magazines. I paid out $188 + $60 for handling. They say there should be delivery with in 120 days. I called the company but all I get is a busy signal. This is a scam. Don't buy from them.

Bogus magazine subscriptions
Young man posing as a college student who needed help to go to Europe in the summer, said he lived in 'our neighborhood.' (Did not, I checked out the home he told me he lived in---sadly, after not receiving anything at all from the magazine we paid for).

I paid him $48.00 for a two year subscription to Reader's Digest, twice the 'usual' rate, as he said he was trying to go to Europe in the summer. This was in May, 2008. When we began receiving copies of magazines we never ordered and certainly didn't want (border line pornography), I called this company and they said they would correct the order.

Still nothing, and now it is almost December. I have called them several times and get an automated answering machine, but none of the links work.

BOGUS. This should be stopped.

Thank you.
