$1000 Free Groceries Radio Scam
So... I KNOW BETTER! I heard a too-good-to-be-true radio advertisment that a research company was doing a thing in my area and wanted to know what people in my area were buying so would give a $1000 grocery card as long as you shop at the same store every time so they could track your purchases. Hogwash. It is really a "membership" to www.onlinecoupons.com, a "coupon clipping service" that charges 10% of the coupon's value, plus shipping. He did tell me, after I asked for details of the program, that the groceries were not actually free, but that all the coupons were 50-80% off - not those little things like in the newspaper, he said. He even gave me an example - he said "like, if you use Tide, you could go on there and print a maximum of 10 coupons for like $5 each". I have since gone to the website and searched for Tide, there are NO coupons available fot it... Liar.
Plus, he really pushed hard, and some folks might feel forced to accept (thinkfully, I am not one of them!) the additional "offers" to charge your same card for more money for services you can always call to cancel and no-one ever successfully does. It was only $3.90 so I am not ripped off of my life's savings or anything. Still, just as my good sense was trying to tell me, this is a lying, cheating, SCAM. They DO NOT tell you what you are REALLY getting, and since it is on the radio, most people will not have the opportunity to be warned by posts like this, they will just call right there from their car to be one of the "few selected to participate".
