Bogus bill and harassment
I had an ATT DSL Hispeed internet account (# 770-552-1477).I was moving my apartment from 822 Hemingway Ln Roswell GA 30075 to 2928 Hemingway Ln Roswell GA 30075.Despite of request to move the service and being on call for over 2 hours, I was told I could not receive the service at my new location since the DSLAM in that location was capped. A month later I received a bill with a charge of $75 for cancellation.While I tried reaching out ATT twice and being reassured by their customer service of "having taken care of" since the cancellation was because of THEIR INABILITY TO PROVIDE SERVICE, they placed my account in collection. I have spent numerous hours trying to connect to their customer service and is hard to get to any human to speak to for redressal of my complaint.

Customer Service
We got ATT DSL 11 months ago. I have had issues with ATT in the past, primarily their customer service, but I went ahead with the order anyway. I called and asked for the cheapest DSL possible with no phone line. They said they had a $19.95 deal going, but failed to mention there was a year contract requirement. The "deal" was saving us $10/month. We bought a new home as the lease was ending in our old place, and called ATT to transfer services. They said they didn't have DSL there, so we would have to cancel since we were no longer at our old address. They did not tell us there would be a $150 early termination fee. Then we got the bill 3 weeks later with the extra $150. I called immediately and was told there was nothing they could do, "company policy". They said the bill was final and could not be changed. They did say that if I wanted to start home phone service for only $15/month they would be kind enough to send me a $100 gift card. I was willing to pay out the contract term and a portion of the early term fee, but they would not negotiat at all. I had to pay it all. They went by the contract, butt hey were very sneaky in their actions. I, nor my family, will ever use an ATT product again. I will do my best to spread the word of how little they care for the customers. They only care about bleeding a few extra dollars out of you. I will do what I can now to try and stear as many friends, family and co-workers I know away from this company. My goal is to cost them much more than the $150 they took from me.

Stuttering video
ATT DSL is unpredictable and unreliable. Sometimes it is fine, other times the video stutters and the service is slow. Now they are pushing ATT Uverse? Are they nuts. They do not have their act together as it is.

Termination FEE written request required
I cancelled my Plan on Februrary 24th 2011. I didn't realize that I had to notify ATT by mail 60 days prior to the end of contract. I cancelled by phone but was never informated that I was already automatically renewed and would be charged $20 penalty for the end of my contract-which in my case was a whole year ($405.75). I am repeatedly told by customer service at DSL "you should have read your contact". What about the elderly and other vulnerable groups?
This is a totally unethical practice. I am shocked to hear that this is AT&T corporate ethos. You'll lose my business because I have paid approximately 200 everyone month for years".
The bad PR you will receive from this practice considering I run a technology company and am doctoral student focused on aging and technology. That will be your early termination fee.

customer service
dsl service went out several days ago called att they ran line checks said no problems had me do several checks inside my home still no dsl service got call that evening from att said they would have tech out next day and check out and if problem inside home there would charge for repair if outside of home there would be no charge tech came out checked he said problem on there end and several other homes same problem he would call and let us no what he found never got a call . saturday called att about dsl problem they passed me around to several techs telling me to try several things to try . after 4 hours of waisted time that if i would pay a fee that there tech 3 would fix the problem. spoke with manager because i did not agree with paying fee he hung phone up on me . maybe att has to much business to were they can can do as they please .

Service charges
I am deeply disappointed with the treatment I have received at At&T. As a new customer, I did the necessary research and came to the conclusion that this company was respectable, honest, and the best fit for my current situation. I was incredibly wrong.

My issue began when I signed up for a contract for DSL service. The special I was to have received was to pay 24.95$ for ANY package for the first year and 35.00$ thereafter as well as receive the wireless office gateway for free after a promotional rebate. I tried to use one of the representatives to sign up but they informed me this was a internet only promotion. Seeking the promotion, I went ahead and signed up online. My first bill came to 144.08$, something I was definitely not expecting. When I called customer service, I was simply told they would look into it and place a note on my account. After numerous calls and four months, nothing has been resolved.

I am sincerely dissatisfied with this company. I will discontinue my service as soon as the contract expires and will be sure to share my unpleasant experience with everyone I meet, including friends, relatives, and my social network.

Poor Connectivity and Customer Service
Modem Requiring Resets on a Weekly Basis

Customer Service - Out of the Philippines if you call after 5 pm. The phone tree is insulting as they ask you very common questions like "Do you have your modem in the "on" position?". They take a long time to pick up the phone and when they answer they sound like robots. They cannot connect to the billing system or people for "credits" if you have down service.

Service is getting poorer over time. They say they want "satisfied customers" but they basically give you easy troubleshooting steps as you wait for 10 minutes +. I think they are having growing pains. They offer Uverse which is taking up all their bandwidth.

As you wait they tell you go to a website so you will get off the phone and reduce their call volume. Their "phone tree recording" is INSULTING. They talk about simple issues about antivirus being on your pc, while trying to sell you some AV product. I mean seriously why would you sell a product when you cannot offer a product that we have already purchased... That is like "buying milk" at the store and you find out that it is spoiled. As you are returning it, the service person is trying to sell you another product such as "Saltines". You want milk and they offer you saltines. You just want to quench your thirst.

They are insulting. Get customer support out of the US instead of overseas.

The latest they say wait 8 min. It has been 10 min now and still counting. They don't offer the service they promise nor meet one's expectations.

Directv is probably the way to go.

unauthorized charges and service interruption
ok so back in june my debit card was charged for 91 bucks. i called them to get the charge reversed not only did i not get it in 4 to 6 weeks. I just got the check on monday. then last week on the 27th of july they turned my internet off for no reason. I called and after speaking to 12 reps i talked to a manager who told me there was no reason for it to be turned off and she turned it back on. Then 3 days later on my internet was disconnected again and i called and they told me that there was no reason for it to be off but if i wanted it back on id had to pay 50 to 100 bucks for their mistake i spoke to 20 reps which 3 of them transfered me to either the wrong department or to a fax number. I also spoke to 2 managers one was extremely rude and the other hung up on me. Then on Saturday august 1st my husband called and they told him that the services was completely disconnected. and that a tech would have to come out. so we did that well the tech never showed up we called them back and they said the tech wasnt suppose to come out which is not what we were told. The rep was like oh youll get a disk in the mail because we had to open a whole new account. so today august 5th i got the paper work NO DISK! Had to call them again 3 times because the rep hung up on my husband! and finally we got the correct password from them and we have the internet back. we plan on changing once we can!!!

Modem Rebate
I ordered ATT DSL service 4 months ago and was told that I would recieve a $75.00 rebate when I purchased ATT's wireless modem.
When I called, after 4 months, I was told that no rebate was available and there was nothing they could do about it. This is clearly a
deceptive sales tactic and although there is not much I can do about it I will make sure to tell as many people as I can about what I consider a criminal activity.
