Employee Mistake/Customer Pays
This is a letter that I have written to AT&T that explains my experiance.


Let me begin by saying that my family has been with AT&T for as long as I can remember and it is a shame the way that I have been treated over the last two days by your company. This ordeal began Saturday afternoon at 1:30 when I attempted to extend my contract and upgrade phones for me and my wife. I called and told the salesman which phones we would like and he came back with a price of $209 for the phones with the two year extension. I agreed and he received my debit card information. When he sent the information through he replied “It is showing up as the full price of the phones” which was $689. He never said I charged you the full price. Realizing his mistake he got a supervisor to adjust the cost and then tried to run the corrected amount of $209 which the bank declined. I had checked my balance before I called and knew that I had $755 in my account so I told him that I would call the bank and find out what the problem was then call back. That is when I found out what he had done. I immediately called back and explained the situation to the new salesman. From 1:30 to 8:30 I was on the phone mostly on hold, spoke with six different representatives, and got the same results from everyone, nothing. They said that there was no way to stop an order (that I never placed) that has been placed. I would have to wait until I received the phones (that I never ordered) which would take three to five days, mail the phones (that I never ordered) back which would take another three to five days, and then they would refund the money within thirty days. Now I have $66 to support my family with for two weeks all because of a mistake and order that your employee placed, not me. That has to be unlawful in some way. Is AT&T going to buy my child’s food and diapers or give my daughter lunch money? Is AT&T going to pay the six insufficient fund charges I have received because of this? No, they are too worried about receiving there cell phones back rather than covering there employees mistake. It seems to me that AT&T has gotten to big and forgotten about what makes company great. Maybe you have forgotten about a thing called customer service/satisfaction. It is very unfortunate that this has happened and I assure you that neither I nor my family will ever give AT&T another dollar of our money. You have now lost six cell phone accounts, three residential services, and three DSL accounts not to mention the countless people that will read this letter and think; maybe I should go with another carrier. Great polices AT&T, great polices.

i also received the getmyrewards paper and nothing happened. the site doesnt exist and then i signed up for the rewards service and it says that nothings there and the paper expires the first week of september. what do i do?

Crooked Sales People
ATT Sales reps came into our building claiming that they were customer service personnel that were required to verify that we received a discount on our last invoice. They also stated that they would need our signature so that they could make the adjustment when they returned to the office.

They said any employees signature would do. They did not even have business cards. We kicked them out. There names were Robert Jacobs and Jamie Johnston.

poor sevice
ATT Uverse VOP does not work in my house, and they were to disconnet and return to regular ATT. This was promised to be done by this week. Now I'm be told that they have no idea when it's goint to be done. I have been a customer of ATT for more than 35 years.I guess that makes no difference to a company that does not belive in giving good customer service, just selling more of it's products!!!

Bungled Service NOT Bundle Service
A sales rep came by our office and wanted to tell me about ATT bundle services for business. She was very convincing and showed me how I could save $175 per month. Come to find out, she was a contractor outsourced by ATT. She was in my office for 2 hours, filling out countless pages of paperwork required to switch my DSL and long distance service to ATT. Not only have I not saved the $175, I believe I am paying at least that much MORE per month. Every call to ATT has been a nightmare. Every time I call, they find something else she did wrong, change the order and I have either ended up without DSL for days at a time or have been charged for the change to my service. Everytime I call I have to go through the whole story AGAIN, get put on hold while that rep "checks with their supervisor" and nothing gets accomplished. One time when I called to let them know my DSL was down, the rep told me I didn't have DSL even though I was looking at a bill that charged me for 2 DSL lines. Also, the rep sold me the high speed 6mb line which I'm told is not even available in my area. 3mb is available but I can't even get that for some reason. I am willing to spend the time to go over this with an ATT rep that can do something about it, but I want to write it up and send it to the person so that they can read my complaints point by point, research it, and get back to me with a solution. I don't have the hour or hour and 45 minutes to be on the phone with one of your reps. It does no good and my boss needs me to run his office not educate you on who did what when. I wanted to enclose a letter with my payment but the address is a lockbox in Georgia. HELP!

did not get service
Bought a phone for my niece in May, Propel.
In /august, phone quit working. called and they said it had water damage although hasn't been dropped in water.
I also took insurance, or at least I thought. Talked in detail to sales person and we agreed on it.
Now that the phone is acting up they say I didn't get insurance.
This moisture thing is a scam.
I think the dot turns red if their is any moisture in a room and they use this to keep from replacing phones/

Scam charges
Att has offerd, through mail advertisements, a package of home phone, high speed internet and choice of wireless services for the price of $99.00. I called this morning to inquire and sign up because my current billing has increased to $162.69 for wireless service and home phone. Please note that I have a package that allows unlimited long distance so there is no additional charge for calling long distance. I live in a rural area and dsl nor cable is offered in this area. The service representive that I spoke to this morning informed me that I was not eligable for the $99.00 package because I could not purchase dsl but that is was fair that they charge me over $160.00 dollars for the two services that I have purchased. Something is wrong with this picture, , I feel discrimnated against and that again ATT is taking advantage of of the consumer. If dsl were offer in this area I would not have chosen the broadband service, which is much slower (though slightly faster than dial up).
