Turning off service by error
I called Att to tell them I will be moving shortly and gave them the date that I will be moving. ATT proceeded to turn to turn off the service immediately leaving me with no phone or internet service. Trying to resolve this has been a nightmare. Trying to speak to a person was impossible. I finally was able to have the phone service turned back on after 24 hours. I still do not have High Speed internet service. I was told that it would take a week to maybe get it back but gave me dial-up instead. So Att can turn off the service immediatly but are unable to correct their mistake as fast. Their phone communication is impossible . I am beside myself with frustration. So far I have spent 6 hours on the phone and internet trying to get through to someone at ATT that can resolve the situation

Scam
I went to the Apple Store on Boylston St in Boston, MA. I was told by the employee there that I could purchase two IPhones, one for me, and the other for my daughter who lives in California. I was told that I could purchase two activated IPhones with 617 area codes and be on the family plan, and that my daughter could change the phone number to a preexisting California phone number at a California ATT store. When my daughter tried to change the number at ATT in California, she was told that she could not have her old California number and still be on the family plan. The only way they could give her old California number was to take her off the family plan and give her an individual plan.
This information completely contradicts the information provided by the Apple Store in Boston when the IPhones were purchased and constitutes a misrepresentation of a material fact upon which I relied.
I called ATT on three different occasions over the span of one month, and this matter has still not been resolved. Twice I was told that a supervisor would call me back, but I never heard from anyone. I also called Apple and was told that there was nothing they could do. I have been a customer of ATT for over nine years and I am outraged that they would be so unhelpful. Now I have two individual plans which are costing me an additional $1559.76 over two years, which is the length of the contract that I signed.

Rebate
We purchased an ATT cellular phone on December 18, 2007.I immediately sent in the rebate form and was suppossed to receive a $50.00 promotion card. I never received the card. ATT stated they sent the card but it has now expired so there is nothing they can do.

poor customer service
Good luck trying to communicate with the phone company. Over a year ago, a young man came door to door selling Uverse, the new ATT answer to cable. We signed up only to be contacted by ATT a week later to say that Uverse was not available in our neighborhood. Poor salesman. Our neighbor now has Uverse. We called ATT and were told that it was still not available. We explained that not only does our neighbor have it but the connection is in our backyard. Bottom line - there are only so many ports and our backyard connection is full so too bad. The Uverse customer rep named Renee was very rude and when asked when we could receive this service, I was told that it would be up to the engineers if they would ever add more ports. We have DSL and two phone lines with ATT and this is how we're treated. I have tried to email ATT to try and resolve this issue but it seems that email is not their mode of communication but the man on their answering system will not allow you to talk to a person until you've gone through about 50 prompts. FRUSTRATING is all I can say.

Rebate scam/Deceptive Practices
Dealing with ATT for their bundle was the worst experience in my life for services. They lied about everything. I was inconvenienced greatly because they did not tell me I needed a phone line on same wall as cable line. I had to pay for Dish equipment in order not to have 2-yr contact with dish. I had to go without my alarm protection for a week because ATT did not inform me that I would need to have my alarm company install a "filter" (at an additional cost to me) in order to use my complete package of services. My desktop computer did not work for a full week. Then the e-mail was messed up for more than two weeks. I spent hours on the phone speaking with technicians from Philipines, India, and who knows where else. When I asked for an American technician to come to my home, I was told that I would have to pay a service call fee. I am being charged $5 a month because my TV service is not hooked up to a phone line. I already have a phone line on the other side of the room, but ATT "is not allowed to run a cord across the room". So, I am paying $5 a month for not using my already existing phone line. Or I can pay $90 to have ATT install another phone line next to the cable outlet on the same wall. (This is for the Dish Network). I found out after Dish installation that I was not getting several channels I had with Cable. To get these 2 channels I would have to upgrade to 200 channels and pay an additional $10 a month. ATT said it would be $5 amonth. Not so, states Dish network. When I tried to apply for the promised rebates, I found that they lied about that, too. The ATT sales rep said she would send me coupons for $225. I will be getting only 2 coupons of $50 each and a $50 Visa card which ws never mentioned.
My total experience would take too long for details. What I think should happen is that all the new customer who were deceived by ATT sales reps, and had unsatisfactory customer service or services experience, as well as problems getting the promised rebates, should get together and file a class-action suite against ATT.
