U-Verse
It's been 3 weeks since the original order was placed to have my number ported over from another carrier. AT&T, through their lack of communication, has caused delay after delay.
First, they were missing some information, that I found out about after the initial port date when I called to find out why the order wasn't complete. AT&T rewrote the order for 10 days later. Come that day, the order still wasn't complete.
After several phone calls, I spoke with a rep who said there was an error with the order and that it'd have to be rewritten again, for another 10 days in the future. When I mentioned I'd already gone through that and if there's an error now, there'll probably be an error then she was able to get someone to listen and told me the error was fixed and everything should be up in 2-3 hours.
It wasn't. I called back that night and was told by support that everything looked good and should be up by 10 pm. It wasn't.
The next morning I called and got tier 2 support who told me that everything looked good and that they'd have to reboot my router. They did, that disconnected my call and they never bothered to call back.
I called back in the evening, got tier 2 and they said that with that error, there's no way they can port the number until the error is cleared, which will be in 24-48 hours and then I'd have to wait another 5-7 days for the number to be ported. He tried to connect me with order management, sat on hold for 20 minutes at which time he came back and said the office was closed and I'd have to call them the next day.
Called the next day and order management said they could do nothing until the order was cleared and then they'd get the order rewritten and I'm looking at another 10 days for the number to be ported. I asked why I can go to a cell phone vendor and get my number ported over in 20 minutes and with AT&T it takes a month. They had no answer. There are too many departments that touch an order and that causes mess-ups. I'm pissed.

Unathourized charges to my credit card
Purchased a pre-pay cell phone online through AT&T charges we're $111.00 for phone and a pre pay minutes card.
Prior to giving my credit card info I reviewed all charges and athourized AT&T to charge my account for the $111.00. When checking the charges online through the bank the charges were $226.00!Called costumer service who told me that the charges we're a pre-authourization and they would be refunded as soon as the phone was shipped. Now 5 days later they have not only not refunded these charges but went ahead and charged me an additional $26.50!
I have recieved the phone and card and called them this morning and tried to figure out why the charges we're not refunded they informed me that "it's the banks responsability to release the pending charges on the account...we can't do anything for you!"
Are you kidding me? I never authourized them to charge my account almost triple the amount! They said this was how they charged for online purchases...ther was nothing in any of the "terms of service" ect. that informed me of these additional charges.
It seems to me that when a company charges you almost triple the amount you've authourized they are commiting a crime! RIGHT?
Not to mention they kept me on hold for over an hour transferring me to 7 different people and we're rude to boot!

ID Theft
I called the ATT ID Theft department about an attempt by Christopher Smith to use my ID to establish service for himself. The ATT person I spoke with told me everyone gets letters with other peoples name on them and this was not ID theft. I tried to explain that ATT sent me the letter regarding this person's service request and he had tried several other times to steel my ID. The ATT person would not hear my point of view and would not give me her name and hung up on me. Thank you ATT for your considerate service.

No phone service when raining
My land line telephone and Internet service are with AT&T. Any time we have rain of several hours duration, I have no phone or Internet service. I have jumped through all the electronic hoops and finally reached a human being who said that since the phone was working when I called, there was nothing that they could do and that I should call back when it goes out again. I explained that I had been told that the problem was due to dampness in the "cards" located in a large box-like structure located about 1/2 mile from my home.

Rude and Non Cooperative
I went into the AT&T store and waiteed for about an hour and fifteen minutes to get up to the counter and have them tell me they couldnt not help me because I was not the head of the account. When we have called 2 times before to add me to the account, and the lead person on the account went in to the store the day before and told them. So for 1hr and 15 minute wait I recieved help for less than a minute. Also on top of that with as much technology we are acummulating these days, how can AT&T not block a number??? Instead I have to change my number and recieve a 36$ fee when it should be simple enough to block a number when other wireless services can do it.

Billed for phone service I never started
Today I received a bill for home phone service from AT&T, which is interesting considering I never started phone service. I have Time Warner Cable (bundled package) and have never so much as contacted AT&T to inquire about rates. But, out of nowhere, they usurped my home phone number and sent me a bill for a month's worth of service: $26.40. My husband is deployed to Afghanistan, so there is no way that he started service either. Is this a new "slamming" ploy? This is simply outrageous that they can begin service without my approval/knowledge.

Cost of phone $19.00 upgrade ,taxes $47.00
August of 2009 purchased iPhone 16 GB model# A1303 FCC ID BCGA1303A IC ID 579C-A1303A @ Apple store, Northridge Ca. The phone cost $290.00 plus tax.I dropped the phone in water and damaged the phone.A technician at Glendale Apple store glanced at the phone and said it was unrepairable. There were no tests performed on the phone and no attempt to look at the internal parts of the phone to see if they were damaged, but I was offered to purchase a new phone for $200.00 and lose my unlimited Internet service that I have on my old phone.I chose not to go for that unreasonable choice.
My On line search I found a refurbished one for $19.00 and $47.00 in taxes.I sent two emails to AT&T the service providers customer service for explanation of how they come up with this kind of tax percentage I still have not received a response.

Will not solve a disputed bill
In 3 months my long distance service has been disconnected twice because all efforts to negotiate and resolve a disputed international long distance charge has failed. I have been thru multiple telephone trees, from international billing to fraud investigations, supervisors who 'don't have the authority' and salespeople who can solve it if I buy a larger more complicated telephone package. My long distance service is currently off and all efforts to restore it have failed. There seems to be no resolution within any department or English speaking person. I will be changing companies tomorrow and ATT can eat their telephone trees and 'press 1 for English.'

Installed u-vers like to disconnect land line
Just installed u verse bundle with cell phone to receive ONE bill. so far i have a bill for cell phone and another for u verse the amounts to $180.00 instead of $99+tax. I have talked to 4 different people that kept repeating the bill breakdown not explaining why i have separate bills for twice as much. Also been lied to about a deal to keep my land line for $10.00 a month (No outgoing calls, just alarm system) and received a bill for $65.20. So tried to disconnect the land line, i have been put on hold for 15-20 min at the time to fined the department or person to help with that seems like nobody wants to disconnect a service so they lie instead.

Fraud
I have ATT DSL Elite which is supposed to give up to 6Mbps. In the evening I get about 1.5Mbps (or less). I switched to Elite from DSL Pro (3Mbps) because it was too slow. It took them a year almost to tell me I had not been switched over to the higher speed but never gave any refund. They have been out several times and the speed picks up for a few days but then goes back down to totally unacceptable levels. I cannot get any real help from their help line or customer service. They just don't care and because I live in a small city away from the major metropolitan areas I do not have any real choices. I am about to start paying my bill proportional to the speed I get from them.
