false advertising
AT&T mailer says "Four channels can be recorded to the DVR or viewed simultaneously, up to 2 can be HD" When investigating further I was told that only 1 HD channel can be recorded or watched at 1 time. Sticking with cox for now then. At least I know what I'm getting.

misleading redemtion reward center
this website is no good just a bunch of numbers and letters. att sends you a letter to go there to redeem your rebate rewards. I did finally find the real one by going to atts home page.

terrible service
What is this claim by att installation that plug in must be 3 prong wired outlet? I have 50 yr old home with all modern electronics, modem, satellite TV, central heat, etc. TV, etc, computers are currently plugged in to 3prong adaptors, and surge protector strips. I have used these plugs for 30 yr in this house---never had any problem. NO one at ATT explained this. I complained bitterly. The tech just came in --said he would do nothing--after we waited several weeks for installation--and prepared for install. Why could he not do the other parts of the prep. If a 3 prong plug is really needed--he could have prepared everything else, and we could quickly get the plug in installed. ATT offered "custom" installation. They said the tech would come and do everything. They are in breech of contract. The tech came, refused to do anything. they should have been prepared to do the outlet work. The tech clearly knew he would refuse to do the job. I suspect that he is on contract-- and goes around telling people that he cannot do anything because there is no 3 prong plug. Then he collects full pay for his "NO" service call. What is going on with ATT uverse? Are they total fraud? Also, I could not find an ATT complaint deaprtment---as often happens with those big corpss.

service installation
Outrageous poor service adn communication---AT and T Uverse took and gave a huge amount of information. We waited 3 weeks for installation. Moved TV cabinet and prepared for access to lines. They did not clearly explain and emphasize at any time that ONE wall outlet, installed as a 3 prong grounded outlet was absolutely required. The technician came in for the job---in a few minutes, said cannot do it--the outlet is not 3-way grounded. The home has had satellite, TV, internet routers, etc for several years. We did not realize that we could not use the 2 to 3 prong adaptor, and a surge protector plug for the uverse router. Only one outlet of this type is needed. Beware, if u get uverse---have the 3 way grounded plug available before they show up. The tech did not bother to ask or tell us that before he came to the house.
Does he get the same pay for a call if he comes, says he cannot do the job and leaves?
I had told the phone sales man when ordering--ATT has so much legal-eze "conditions" to protect Themselves. I could not digest all that stuff. Maybe the info. was in the fine print somewhere, but I got lost. They need to write their Excessive regs and conditions so that real people can understand them!!!
Just a few words in a simple sentence would have prevented a very frustrating "NO SERVICE" call. So the tech did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TODAY!!!

service
I was originally scheduled to get my uverse installed on the 29th of october, so i decide to get a day-off work for the installation. When the technician came, he said that he could not install the modem because it had to be on a grounded outlet. Now, no one had told me that i needed a grounded outlet. I wish that the sales person would have warn me about this. So, i got rescheduled for 3 Nov for installation. On 3 Nov, the technician could not install my phone service because they have to retrieve it from cox communication and they have the wrong phone number file. So, they rescheduled me for 14th Nov. So today, 14th Nov. i took another day off work just to be here for the installation. Same thing happened, the technician could not install it because the order is still pending. So, nothing was done today and i had taken a day off work again. Customer service told me that they scheduled me on 19th Nov. for installation for the phone service, i don't know if i could should waste another day off work. Poor customer service for AT&T it seems like they don't know what their doing out there. Plus, they should stop advertising "more bars", "fewest drop calls" i think that's BS.

Rebate
Here's what ATT Uverse does to get you to switch to them.
They offer you a rebate, in this case $150.00, mail you $50.00
once. When you call them up later to ask to ask them about the other $100, they tell you you are too late and you're SOL! WATCH OUT!!!

Terrible Service
If you are considering ATT Uverse, you may want to think about one of their competitors...unless you enjoy choppy service and endless wait times to speak with someone on the phone.
I'm writing because I was just on hold for 50 minutes to speak with billing because the first bill I ever received was a disconnect notice and a bill for over $400. After being transferred to several other people, I was finally sent to someone who allegedly could make an adjustment on the bill. After more time on hold, I was told that the first person I spoke to could only do the adjustment. So, that was basically an hour long call that accomplished nothing since the other office closed while I was on hold.
On top of the recent experience, I've had a technician come to my house 10 times for the terrible quality of service. They still have not fixed the problems.
The only reason I'm with them is because the channel lineup has potential and the cost is less than the competition. But honestly, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
