Slamming Services
This takes a bit but is worth reading. I maintain my retarded brother next door, I get his bills and I pay his accounts. He has his own phone. He does not have a computer, he cannot type, he does not read well, his writing is illegible. In February his bill showed a charge of $14.95 for Streaming Flix. I called to cancel and the charge was continued on the March bill. The contact person at ATT checked the account and they advise my brother went on line and accurately completed an on-line request for Straming Flix. I asked what email address he used and I was astounded to find he used mine. Although he has no clue what my e-mail address is and couldnt go on line if his life depended on it. I demanded the charge be refunded and the service terminated. The ATT agent filled out some form and advised it would take two months to refund the money. Two months later no refund was allowed so I called ATT again. I dialed 877-768-3893 to complain and a woman answered the phone. It was utterly amazing. She did not ask me anything but immediately went into a polite advisory that she saw where the previous person had filled the refund form out almost completely but failed to check the "little box" at the end which would have enabled the refund. AND I HADNT EXPLAINED WHY I CALLED. So she quickly confirmed that now the "little box" had been checked and "is there anything else I can do for you Sir". I demanded to speak to a supervisor (they probably take turns) and got a lady who confirmed my brother had indeed gone on line and ordered Streaming Flix - etc - etc - bullshit. I told the supervisor that I felt we had been slammed. The supervisor, who must have just got off the farm, claimed she didnt know what Slammed meant. So now I have just received the 3rd invoice which still contains no refund. But I was advised it can take up to two months. They say "it doesnt always take two months but it can". So now I am in the second half of the second two month waiting period. This whole thing is utterly absurd. Would they be as forgiving of me if I delayed paying them for 4 months?
