I joined Auction Teachers(they were also at National Grants conference) they made a lot of promises. They say they would create my website, pretty much do all the work and submit my web page to the search engines. There was a small fee, and then there was another fee and before long I was up to $400 to get started, and the impression they gave was that they would do all they said for that amount. But it turned out that is not what the truth was. Instead you got some software and the instructions to using the software, the instructions aren’t even close to complete. Then a sales person (outside sales company) called and explained that there is an additional fee to get all the services that they spoke of. I really wanted to do this and so I bit. $14, 000. After a year of working with them (and I worded hard), I have found that they are not professional. They are a small company trying to act as a large company. I had to do most of the work. The graphics that they provided were low end. The “Mentor” that is supplied doesn’t even know HTML, Java or Flash. They told me to go out on the web and get some ideas of how I would like the site to look and navigate. When I came back with the ideas, they couldn’t make the site navigate the way I wanted. You see, that would take Java and Flash, and they don’t know how to do that, and it doesn’t work with their software anyway. When they did submit my site (which looks like so many of the home grown sites with no destinction) to the search engines, it turns out they only shows up on a lot of the small engines out there. But guess what, it doesn’t show up on some of the biggest, like Google. I have gotten a lot of instruction on how to sell on eBay from them, but I could have used the tutorials on ebay to learn the same thing. I was told I would be able to use other programs so that I would know what to sell. They of course cost more money. I am not spending any more. They instruction give over the phone has nothing in written form to back it up. So, when they would show me something, I would have nothing to refer to later as a reminder of the lessen. For the amount of money I dished out, I could have paid a local programmer and they would have done all the work for a whole lot less. And yes, it would have shown up on Google. This has been one of the most expensive lessons I have had.
I hope no one else has to go through this.
