Autographs America Reviews

Forgeries
I am really disgusted by this company. For Christmas this year I purchased 3 items.

1) A Depeche Mode "Black Celebration" Lp, signed, for my boyfriend

2) A Garbage signed 10 inch drumhead for myself

3) A Tori Amos sign guitar with artwork, which is absolutely gorgeous by the way.

ALL OF THESE ARE FAKE! I bought a Depeche Mode biography for my boyfriend for his birthday, which triggered my doubts. It was signed by the lead singer, and came with a SUPER COA. This thing was DNA tested, the whole nine yards. It looked nothing like what was purchased through Autographs America. So. I started comparing around, and have to believe the signed Lp is a total fake.

I noticed on the website, the Tori Amos guitar is back. A different guitar, but the same Artwork by Tori. Odd. How many performers would do the same thing twice...and the signature is different. The one on my guitar is a good version, but fake. I had it verified through 2 seperate auto dealers. It also doesnt look like the CD she signed for me outside of David Letterman.

The Garbage signed 10 inch drumhead was also back. Another duplicate. That one is fake as well. The only thing that matches are the "S" and the "M" for Shirley Manson. The rest of the signature is horrible.

I have called them, sent an email...as well as sending the email to my attorney. My next step is to contact the police station where they are located.

was mistaken
I too was leary about buying anything from this company. But I took a chance, and bought two of the movie disc signed by Tom Hanks and the other one was signed by Michael Douglas. I got them, and they looked good. I took them to a collectible show and found a person who was selling autographs. I showed him the two items. He told me that in his opinion, the signitures were real. He even offered to by my copy of the american president. So now I can relax. I checked further into this company and found that there were a couple of ex employees who were fired and started to post false information about the company.

I paid for a Signed Monkees Guitar and I am still waiting for it.
I am absolutely appalled at the way these people do business and they should be shut down.
I am comtemplating going to the U.S. Embassy and worse case scenerio going to the T.V.Networks with affiliates in the U.S.
I wanted to treat myself to a good Christmas present last year, as I had always been a fan of the band "The Monkees" growing up. This company had their sale on at the time and I thought great I can get a bargain.
My Dad had been in Hospital with Prostate Cancer and I work two jobs to help make the ends meet.
A friend of mine had said to check them out and you will get a bargain.
I had purchased a signed AC/DC Guitar off them with no problems three weeks prior.I had to sign for the item and produce I.D for Australia Post before they would give me the item and I had to go to the Post Office to receive it.
I had done the same thing again this time, gave them the same particulars as what Australia Post had told me to do, and I had also requested a tracking number to keep an eye on it.
This thing was to be delivered to me before Christmas and I am stil waiting for it to arrive.
According to them, they are saying it is Delivered!
I have not signed for anything and I am still waiting for the goods.Australia Post have no record of me signing for an item or producing any form of I.D for any items either.
As I have told them, please you are more than welcome to bring the Australian Federal Police in to search the property and my family and friends properties also.I do not have a Monkees Guitar for which I have worked hard for and paid .
They will not respond to any more of my emails and I was dealing with a man by the name of Alex.
I now realise they are Scam Persons and should be put on t.v. and refund all monies they have scammed out of people.
Please get in contact with me with a Case Manager and I will send you copies of the emails between Alex and Myself .
This is a Disgrace
I have kept copies of some of the emails for you, I am also happy to give you an affidivit if you want to press charges.
Cheers, Angus Davidson

May Have Made A Mistake February 5, 2010
Accommodated me
I had purchased a Beatles album autographed by all 4 members of the Beatles from Autographs America. After telling a friend about my purchase and the reasonable price I got it for, he told me that I was very fortunate because the Beatles rarely autographed anything and to find something with all 4 signatures on it for under $5000 was unheard of.

I got nervous and began researching Autographs America on the Internet. Everything I learned about them was negative and frightening. I called the company and expressed my concerns. I was informed that there is a disgruntled former employee spreading erroneous information about the company and the legitimacy of the signatures and that this employee is being sued. I was still apprehensive and requested that my order be cancelled and my money refunded. I was informed by the employee that I was not able to do this over the phone and that I would have to e-mail the company. I figured I was getting the run around and could kiss my hard earned money goodbye. I e-mailed the company requesting they cancel my order and refund me my money. Shortly after that, I received an e-mail that my album had been shipped. I contact my bank and they informed me that the withdrawal was pending right now and I could not stop payment. The only thing I could do was dispute the charge once it was billed to my account. To my surprise, two days later when I went to check my account, the charge had been removed! Maybe this company is reputable afterall? Maybe I just missed out on an amazing, once in a lifetime find! I'll never know now.

My story ends with the fact that Autographs America was very cooperative, accommodating, and the lady I spoke with on the phone was pleasant to deal with. I got my money back right away. I may have made a mistake cancelling my order.

Selling Fake Signed Stuff
I purchased a signed Van Halen guitar off Ebay in 2008 and after paying for the item Ebay alerted me that the item may be fake. I immediately put a stop to the payment and I tracked the company down who provided the Certificate Of Authenticity (copy attached) that came with the guitar. The company was Autographs America that operates out of Ravensdale. Their website is http://www.autographsamerica.com I contacted them with regards to the guitar and asked if they could shed light on the authenticity, etc. I emailed back and forth with a person named Brian Burns. Brian insisted that he obtained the autographs in person in 1983 and sent me a scan of a concert ticket stub. I asked him to please get a statutory declaration of his story signed by a public notary and that way if I ever sold the guitar, the person would not have to go through what I went through with regards to authenticity.

I received a promissory note with regards to the guitar and Brian Burns signature was witnessed by a Sky Benson. As far as I was concerned that was good enough and paid for the guitar.

I was surfing the web and came across a website that alerts people of internet scams and to my surprise Autographs America was on the list. The website is located here: http://allreaders.net/memorabiliascams/autographsamericacom.html

I contacted the owner of the website and told him my story. He promptly contacted me back and asked me to email a copy of the promissory note so he could also do some investigations of his own. He said he made contact with Sky Benson via email. Sky replied by saying that there is no Brian Burns; his real name is Brian Burkel. I contacted Sky Benson myself and asked if he witnessed the document signed by Brian Burns and he replied that he did . He seemed to have changed his story in the email sent to me.

After reading everything that has been put on the all readers site, I am convinced there is no Brian Burns. I contacted Autographs America and asked who Brian Burns is and they said he is the bald guy in the pictures on the website and to never contact them again. Quite honestly I dont believe them. Now I am left with a worthless signed guitar, as the one thing that guarantees its authenticity is infact fake.

I lodged a complaint with the FBI cyber crime unit. I have also lodged a complaint with Linda Mead who is Manager of the Notary Public Program in Washington State. I also lodged a complaint with the sheriff in King County who said they were unable to assist due to budget constraints.

I have also contacted PSA/DNA for their opinion of the guitar and they have said it is "Likely Not Genuine".

I am sure I am not the only one that has been ripped off by these people and the more I read the more I am amazed that nothing can be done to get rid off them. They are ripping thousands of dollars from people.
