5 weeks in repairs, phone sent back the same
The Phone had been in use less than 3 weeks. It had not been dropped, liquid damaged, physically damaged, it had been performing perfectly up until this point. One day, for no apparent reason it said 'limited connectivity' and had no signal and we could no longer make calls.
Suspecting software problems we sent it in for repairs. After waiting for 5 long weeks, we get it back, still in the same condition that we sent it in! The documentation indicated that it was liqud damage, and therefore uneconomical to repair. I feel cheated, as I KNOW there was no liquid damage. just looking at the unit you can see it has hardly been used. I am furious, because they can just say 'Sorry, you probably spilled something on it, it's not under warrantee anymore' when I know this is not the case. I want a second opinion and a new or repaired phone. Furthermore, I do not want to wait for 5 more weeks to have this resolved! I also work during the week, I don't have time to constantly go to in drop the phone off and pick it up to try and resolve this! I have been with autopage for 11 years now and I have had so, SO many negative experiences, i am really on the brink of converting.

No information given, useless call center
I'm so fed up with Altech Autopages shocking service. Call centre is uselessly slow its a joke. At branch was given a BlackBerry, no one told me anything about how to activate service, found out through a friend there is a registration process, was not told about documents, no one knows whats going on.The big joke is on me though, I've been with them for 6 years and their service has always sucked, and I'm in for another 28 months.

Always experiencing high call volume
Whenever you phone you can never get through - they are forever experiencing high call volume...After 15 minuntes, you still haven't come through to a consultant. The service is pathetic!!!

Paying for goods/service not received
Ive had a autopage contract for several years and payment was ALWAYS made on time. However my wife passed away in August and we did not need the phone anymore as she used the number. My daughter phoned to cancel the phone end Sept. The 19th of March i received a sms on my work number that my account will be handed over. When i phoned they informed me that because we never faxed the cancellation the account was upgraded and that is what i need to pay all the service fees since sept. After several discussions i agreed to pay the outstanding amount and was told that i can then use the phone (which was upgraded -thats what i paid for) and the free minutes.I asked her about the phone and she said that i paid for the upgrade? I did not get a new phone. When i phoned today to find out about the upgrade ( i want the new phone i paid for) with the free minutes i was told that the account has been de-activated and i can only use it again after 6 months! i want to know how can you expect me to pay for something i dont get? I have to pay for a phone that i did not get (the upgrade) and for service fees that i am not using?? No one seems to be able to help me?

Autopage phoning me once a month to take contract
I'm receiving a call almost every month from Autopage in conjunction with Vodacom telling me that they have a wonderful deal for me. Then they give me the info about a contract that is available to me all I have to do is to say yes.
Where do they get my number from?? When I ask them they say it is randomly selected. I don't believe that. How can my number be randomly generated every month when there are millions of cellphone numbers out there???
I would like to know where you get my contact details from and why the company that gives out my details think they are entitled to do so.
My personal details are confidential and I am going to get legal advise regarding this.

Double billed for first month of contract
I took out a data contract with Zaheer Hendricks on 20 Jan. I supplied him with my bank details as he said that the first months payment will have to be made in advance. This payment went off on 21 Jan.
However on the bill dated 17 Feb, I was charged for Jan and Feb. I would like to know what happened to the payment made in advance.
I have spoken to the call centre about a month ago - they were pathetic and I have had no feedback.

Autopage blocked my phone and i cant reach them
I recently opened up a new cell phone contract with autopage. At no point did they mention anything about my contract being suspended if i use more than a certain amount of money. Now i cant make any cellphone calls, send SMSs or use my phone to browse the web. I have tried to get them on the line all morning. Their customer care line rings for a couple of seconds and then goes dead. When i tried to use the other number, i get put on musical hold for 10 minutes and then i get cut off. I submitted an online complaint a few hours ago, but have not heard back from anyone.
I use my phone all the time for work, and i ma desperate to get it working, but i can not reach these people to sort it out at all.
I am running out of ideas, and i cant keep sitting on my work's phone for 20 minutes to an 087 number just to be cut off again.

Misleading Information given to me
On the 10th of March i got a call from a Bronwyn Van Wyk (a lady) who told me that my cell number was picked for an Ayoba promotion and i would be getting a free Nokia E63 for only R212.50 a month for 24months. And that my existing contract with MTN would fall away instantly. The deal was signed. Only for me to get a call on the 13th from Rene who told me that the information that was given to me by Bronwyn was incorrect, i consquently asked her to cancel the contract as that was not the initial information given to me.
On the 15th i then called to speak with Bronwyn to find out why she would give me misleading information and also to confirm that the deal was cancelled as i was no longer interested. I had the horror of speaking to someone by the name of Carl, who was so abrupt and consequently dropped the phone on me. I called back demanding to speak with a manager and again Carl answered the phone. Since when do agents become supervisors and managers at the same time? He refused to call a manager for me, says his manager Reagan Louise was in a meeting. If this is the kind of service you provide to MTN valued customers then they need to hear of this. You may listen to that call.

Proper Telephony is not being provided
Ever since porting over to Autopage (with Vodacom), I have had countless issues with the port over. I was previously on MTN with Italk (where I had no problems at all). My number is sporadically unavailable to MTN Telkom Cell C subscribers and Autopage has not been helpful at all.
This has now becomes so bad, that my family cannot get a hold of me and nobody from work is able to get a hold of me for urgent issues relating to work.
I am absolutely disgusted with the service. What's more, I did notify Autopage that I wanted it in writing that this would not happen again, they trivially brushed it off and I now hold them in breach of contract and they refuse to take responsibility for my inability to receive calls as this is a 'Network failure'. Shame on you Autopage - you've lost a customer and also an advertiser.

Suspended account due to admin error
My debit order went off on the 26th of the month and my salary only later the same day so the debit order didn't go through. I paid account via internet banking next day (27th of Feb) and faxed proof of payment through for allocation.
Two days ago I get sms :account will be suspended if payment is not received. Callcentre tells me there is a backlog in allocations, but money has been received and will escalate to the allocationscredit control department to allocate.
Yesterday morning I get another sms to tell me my account is now suspended. This time around I get told that money was allocated to March instead of February and therefore account shows in arrears - will be rectified and suspension lifted within 2 hours. A day later my phone is still not working after numerous more calls - got another sms now to say account is being soft lock due to non-payment after I was assured it will be rectified. Two days without my phone and 7 calls already and I spend almost R1k a month on my cellphone account - great service hey - getting suspended for an error Autopage made in allocating my payment of two weeks ago.
