I just want a phone that works
After the HTC S710 I received last week was faulty I returned it and received a new HTC S710 on Friday only to discover that it doesn't work properly either. The navigational buttons are faulty which makes it very difficult to navigate my way around my phone. I have issued a complaint with Autopage as I would like to return it but the problem, as encountered previously is that the only loan phone available is one without a charger. This is no use to me. I have been going around in circles for weeks, when all i want is a phone that works!!

They got no idea how to treat their customers
I received a sms from Autopage with this message: “You are 40% over your average calls and data usage for this month. Your line could be softbarred as your average usage has been exceeded.” When I took out my contract, I specified that I did not want a limit on my Cellphone as it is an essential part of my job. Then I tried to make a call & realised line has been suspended. I contacted the customer services dept where the consultant explained that I did not owe any money and was completely up to date on my payments. He said that this must have been a mistake and put me on hold while he spoke to the accounts department. He returned with this message “The Autopage accounts dept have decided to disconnect users that go over their average call usage, even though you DO NOT want a limit on your phone.” He said he would sort out the problem and that line would be reconnected it has now been 24 hours and I 'm still disconnected. Since I took out my cell phone contract with Autopage I have had endless hassles. AUTOPAGE PLEASE JUST CANCEL MY CONTRACT SO THAT I CAN GO TO A SERVICE PROVIDER WHO KNOWS HOW TO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Unauthorized debit orders
My account was suspended at the end of September due to non payment, I accept that as that is the terms and conditions. My debit orders go off on the 1st of the month and my debit order came back as unpaid as there were no funds available, I accept the bank charges as this was my fault.
Planning to pay the total balance outstanding at the end of October, however, on 14 AND 15 October, Autopage put thru debit orders for R500 each. These debit orders were returned due to no funds available. I was not told about this and I DID NOT authorise Autopage to take debit orders in the middle of the month. THIS IS ILLEGAL!!!
When I questioned my credit controller, I was told that I will not be re imbursed for the bank charges of the TWO UNAUTHORISED DEBIT ORDERS!!! I told JUDY that I want to cancell my debit order as AUTOPAGE IS DOING ILLEGAL debit orders. I was told I can not and they will trace me to what ever bank I go to...
Further to that I was told that if I do not pay by debit order, I have to make payment by the 15th of every month and not the end of the month as arranged.

Shocking service, and it's not his fault the debit order was incorrect
My boyfriend has used autopage cellular for the last 8 years.Last friday he received a sms saying his account is in arrears, and would be suspended. Yet this account goes off via debit order, which is presented by Autopage!! To date a debit order has never been returned to Autopage. Saturday he called on them to upgrade his contract, and was refused because of this 'arears' He called to find out what the problem was. Turns out Autopage had presented the debit order for the incorrect amount. They told him it would be sorted out Monday, and the remaining balance would be debited from the company's account. It was not, and Monday they sent him anther sms. He then called their head office, requested to speak to management, who was meant to call him back. They did not. Tuesday his account was suspended! He is traveling around the easternwestern cape, he needs a working phone. He eventually got the admin lady at his office to once again call Autopage Head office. The service was reinstted late that afternoon, debit order will only be presented on the 21st! Unacceptable, and he still needs his upgrade asap.Shocking service, and it's not his fault the debit order was incorrect.

Call center people who know nothing about anything
Firstly, have been asking for an activation mail since August 09, everytime I have called or mailed to find out where it is, all I get told is it will take between 24 and 48 hours, this has been going on since Aug, it's now the 12th of October, and I am still waiting. Secondly, I have been nagging them to send me a detailed statement for my 3g account so I can investigate why it is so high, been asking since Aug, still nothing, all I get from the useless call centre people is oh you need to wait for an activation email so you can download it from the net, oh look I am still waiting for the activation mail. Thurdly, because I have been asking for a detailed statement since Aug, I have refused to pay it until I have investigated why it is so high, I have however paid my cell phone bill which is linked to the 3g, low and behold they cut the line, and say it will take 24 to 48 hours to reconnect, ***!! the bill for my phone has been paid even sent them payment confirmation, they still went ahead and cut it!!! Bottom line, you get told 10 different stories everytime you call, and get left to hold for 50 minutes, no one comes back to you, they just leave you on hold.

Stay far away from Autopage
I was contacted by Lynette Ronnebeck to upgrade my contract and she sent through a list of all the offers for me. She helped me with advice on the best package and the service I received from her was excellent. Yesterday, unbelievably I received an sms from Autopage stating a large outstanding amount on my account. Upon enquiring your call centre stated that I was charged for calls made, and if I do not agree I had to phone the accounts department the next morning. When I phoned a second time after being cutt off (ANNOYING!!!) I was then told that I was billed not for calls but for the wonderful FREE phone as I need to have paid in. When I stated that it was on the special offered to me by Lynette as FREE with no additional payment I was told 'thats just how it is' They then said that they will log the query to investigate the matter.
Well I can say one thing: I VE GOT ALL THE PROOF OF THE DOCUMENTS EMAILED TO ME SHOWING IT AS OFFERED FOR FREE! What type of customer service do you run or is this just poor administration that there is suddenly no recollection of this phone being Free on your offer list! The distress it caused me as I could barely sleep last night about this!

Nothing but bad service and headaches
My previous complaint was aimed at MTN, which, it turned out was incorrect (although it didn't stop me from porting to Vodacom after 11 years of loyal support). The events since that complaint have confirmed that Autopage cellular was the root of all the frustration:
1. I won't go into the headaches I had to try to port my number from MTN to Vodacom. There simply isn't enough time and space.
2. After repeatedly requesting that unsolicited services be removed from my contract (and bill), imagine my displeasure when I opened my online bill today. Three phone calls to the Plumstead branch and an online enquiry logged on the website over the period of a month and I STILL get billed for SIM insurance, itemised billing and TWO entries for My Account. For ***'s sake, get it right!!! I'm sick to death of fighting with you people!!!
And we all thought TELKOM was bad. At least they aren't screwing us at the same time as delivering bad service!

I never received a cell phone and the contract was not activated, but money is deducted from my bank account
The call centre offered me a cell phone contract in March. I never received a cell phone and the contract was not activated, but money is deducted from my bank account. I first called customer services to cancel the 'contract'. Then I went to the menlyn branch for help and that didn’t help. I received a number for an Adrian in Cape Town and every time I talk to him he said he will look in to my problem. Untill July Autopage deducted money for a cellphone contract that does not exist. In July Adrian promised that the problem is resolved and Autopage will refund me. I’m still waiting for my refund and on 30092009 another R89.37 was deducted from my bank account. I was more than patient with Autopage but my patience is up. Autopage seems not to have the resources to resolve this. The only thing left is to open a case of fraud at the SAPS.

Blackberry misleading advertising
I got a Bleckberry 8520 and was told the email and internet browsing was free on device. When i tried to acces this, then the device tried to find a wifi connection, i was then told i had to register the devise with autopage and did so. They emailed me a form and i saw i had to pay an extra R69.00 per month for a FREE service. i then asked why i was told it's free and was told 'we apoligise but dont know' I told them i wanted to cancell the contract then as Vodacom are cheaper (R100.00) per month and then was told i have to pay a cancellation fee. Can they do this and do i not have any consumer rights as to misleading advertising?
