nonexistant customer service
AVG recently bought out Walling Data in the US. You can no longer contact Walling Data when you have problems with AVG. Have tried 4 times to renew AVG virus protection online and spoken to numerous European AVG customer agents to no avail. I was not allowed to speak with anyone above the initial supervisor. I was not renewing the free version. I was going to PAY for it as I have for the previous 2 years. The AVG virus protection worked well I far as I can tell. When you can't contact someone in a companies upper mgt. that company is not serving the customer. Their serving the company.

upgrade
I saw the advertisment for AVG upgrade from FREE AVG. I did not know I would have to install it from a disk until I had given my credit card number. The sales person must have intered my charges before the sales was complete which I could not use if I had to install it and asked that my FREE be reinstalled, which was done. ( I am 89 years old and limited computer abilities.)
When charges appeared on my acount, I tried with no avail to get an address or phone number. I could never make connections with Customer Service. In fact, all I could reach was Sales. I have not used the service, the unopened disk has been returned and since I could not locate a site or phone number for a complaint, I feel the charges should be removed. Wallace Godwin

inability to contact
I supposedly have AVG security on-line scanning system. I have paid for this . My computer now has a virus transmitted through an e-mail AVG is supposed to scan. I have also infected everyone in my addressbook through an e-mail from me, that I never sent. My address book was pirated and then infiltrated by someone. AVG advertises themselves as a protective system against things like this happening. It has not done this and I have spent the last 5 hours trying to get in touch with AVG. On line contacts tell me that web page is not available and phone numbers tell me they are not associated with AVG. Who are these poeple and where are they. I want my money back and I want my computer back. I also want everyone to know that AVG is nto what they say then are. They are a fraud. I would like to press charges or belong to a group with complaints against them.

dissapointed customer claim for refound
After my payment I have received a mail confirming my registration and asked me to give my some details to create an account for avg.Unfortunately after that I did not get any account or activation data to process.When it happend my some files were infected by virus and I was helpless to cure it.Finaly I got managed to get another virus guard provider's help to clean my files.Therefore I was totally dissapointed about the service and I asked to refound the money as they promised me at the time of registration saying 30 days money back garantee.Actualy I have sent more than 3 mails to avg support services regarding this refund quoting the mail which I have received from them.But still I do not receive any mail saying they will going to refund my money as they promise.now I am in the position to feel risk to buy anything online.because they are not met the level of satisfaction and failed to keep the promised what they had done .

Payment made unable to get product
Purchased last year and was never able to download to use software. Then they refused to refund and dealing with their third party purchase was a pain. It is clear this company DOES NOT want to provide honest and credible customer service. Now I am getting emails to renew. If they charge my credit card with renewal I will file class action suit. Anyone want to join in?

Non delivery of product
I have paid for but not recieved AVG product for virus control etc .
Advertised by microsoft as (what Ibelieved a recomend ) Iapplied for AVG free
download to protect my computerfro viruses
When I got to their site they offered 3 options none of them free but as I needed to protect my computer I opted to pay them £10 ayear for two years (£20.00)cover I sent them my details and then tried to download their product which wouldnt download .I Then sent them a e mail explaining this (not down loading).infact I sent 3 emails back to back, trying to resolve my problemas Iwas getting concerned that my computer was at risk.
They returned a Email to me rebuking me for sending 3 back to back emails.In it they sent suggestions for me to try all of which did not work, they suggested also if
I had any further problems I another department of theirs.I did send to the suggested department but recieed no reply or joy.
After two days or so my wife was looking up our bank statememts and found that the sum of£26.96 had been taken from our account.
I then sent them a e mail pointing out the "error" And suggested that if they could not provide me with the their product for the sum of £20 as advertised that they reinburse my card and cancell my order for their product.
They then returned a email suggesting a phone number that I could use to resolve this issue. This number carries cost of £1.50 per minute .
I have of course emailed them cancelling order and asking for my money to be reimbursed.
Irealy urge anyone thinking of using AVG to be very wary of the way in which they opperate.
Iwill let you Know if Iget my mony back BUT I DONT HOLD OUT MANY HOPES>

Did not work
I was just on the phone with a Peter Wilson who had me on hold for a long time and I after I gave him all my information he told me his computer was down and I needed to call after 1:00 pm today. I just want my Refund back! This is a scam and I was charged for something that doest work and that I didnt even order. Please refund my money back of $51.45 that was charged to my credit card on 9/11.

Can't get rid of the program
AVG SUCKS!!! It has taken over my computer! I got a free trial of AVG anti-virus on my computer and now they have pop-ups come on continually and I can't even get into my personal computer to eliminate the AVG program. Had a computer geek look at it today, he told me to crash it. Stay Away From AVG!

rip off
AVG sucks...we have used the free protection for awhile but have always used a back up because we STILL get viruses that we were not warned about..My husband went ahead and purchased the upgrade instead of just the free version to get a better protection. You have to buy it seperately for each computer in your house!!!What a rip off. No other protection we ever purchased was for only one of our 4 computers. And when you try to find help on thier web site. Forget it. I tried one of the phone numbers listed and it was for an outside company that costs money. I never could find the e mail address that it states you can use if you have any problems.
DO NOT WASTE YOUY TIME WITH AVG>>>>READ OTHER COMPLAINTS HERE AND ON YAHOO

Service
Have used AVG 7.5 for years without problem but had to upgrade to 8.5. Now I cannot use Internet Explorer with out disabling Link Scanner and Resident Shield. Have attempted to use their Forum but despite using correct User name and Password it will not allow me access. Was considering purchasing their latest Anti Virus but not anymore. Complete rubbish
