Inconviencing a customer.
I reserved a car for Oct. 2, 2009 at the Avis Rental at Sears in Acadiana Mall in Lafayette, LA. This location closes at 5:00 pm. When I arrived at this location no-one was available. I asked the gentlemen working in Sears if Avis was closed and he told me yes. Another young man told me to knock on the door, but no-one answered. I called the 800 number for Avis and spoke to someone with reseverations and customer service and all they kept telling me was that they were sorry but there's nothing they can do to help me. I asked was it ok for me to be inconvienced and their response was "I'm sorry, mame." Customer Service told me to go to another location at the Lafayette Airport. I went to the airport and the young ladies that were working were the same two that I had had a confrontation with several months ago. Well one of the ladies tell me that I have to call and have my reservation transfered to the airport location. I asked her to call for me. The other lady said that she left the Sears location because she had to be at the airport location for 2:30. No one bothered to contact me and let me know this. Either of the ladies were helpful and I feel like they were treating me unkindly due to the incident in the past. This was not professional on their part and I feel their supervisior should have repremanded them for treating customers that way.
I have no use for Avis anymore. I should have been given an automobile for the price that I was quoted since it was their fault that the location I made the reservation at was closed before 2:30 pm when it wasn't suppose to close until 5:00pm. I'm not a mind reader and sure wouldn't have gone to the Sears location if I'd known that.
I don't know how upper management feels about the way their name (Avis) is being represented, but if I were them I would do some housecleaning before it gets to bad.
Personally, I will not be using Avis again and will tell as many people as I can about the treatment that I've received.
This is not good business. If the employees aren't people persons then they shouldn't be working where they have to deal with people.

Mis leading charges and over charge.
We rented a car from Avis at Ontario Airpot. When the car was rented a $200.00 credit charge was placed. That was just fine .. no problem. The counter agent sasid it would not exceed this.
After returning the car with in 18 hours, we were then charged 451.00 for less than a day of rental. They charged us for 2 days . The counter lady said it was clear how much the charge was going to be ., uh..yes less than 200.00. Now where on the paperwork did it say 161.00 + whatever a day for a ford. There were 4 other agencies right next to them . We would have went to them.
Both the counter agent and her manager were extremly rude actually, I could use better words to descibe them . The only time the price was truely given was upon return. Who in their right mind would rent a ford for 161.0 a day.They totally mislead us.
I am going to attempt to get some kind of refund, if none is received
I will spend $$ to make sure these types of thing are viewabel. It is no longer the money its the principle. If I can reach 50, 00 veiwer and only 4% change their mind to do business, at $60 as an average.. x 2000 peolple that $120000.00 in lost revenue. I can live with that!
