We had bought the tickets about 2 months prior to our travel date and we confirmed them the night before our departure.
When we got to the airport after waiting in line for about 20 minutes, one of their service representatives approached us and about five other families and told us the the flight was already closed.
This was about an hour and a half before departure. They had us wait for the longest time and at the end they would not give us a straight answer. It seems they over sell tickets and if you are at the end of the line, too bad, you are left behind.
There were about 5 to 6 other families that were left behind at the Guadalajara Airport. When we asked for a refund they told us we had to ask the agent that sold us the tickets.
When we asked her, she said that Azteca doesn't give refunds and that we would have an open ticket with the airline for a year. But who's going to want to use it? If you can, try to avoid traveling to Mexico with Azteca Airlines.
