Booked an appointment for 10am with Tanja -owner of Babycakes for a tasting for a wedding cake i was hoping to order from her. As she was situated in Westville i informed her on making the appointment that i was not familiar with Westville but would have to try and find her address that morning -Saturday -17th of April 2010.
At 9:50am i called Tanja to inform her that my fiance and i had gotten lost and had found ourselves on a certain road in Westville and not sure how to get to her. She said she would sms directions which she did a few minutes later. Her directions were from Pavillion though and we were not sure where we were so we would have had to fisrt find our way to pavillion in order to follow directions on her sms.
15min later we had made our way out of the area we were lost in and were almost at Pavillion. Tanja then phoned and demanded with a raised voice where we were and how long would we be. I told her we were almost there and sorry that we are running late, we should be about 10min. She then proceeded to scream at me and sarcastically asked me -you got lost for 35min?, Why didnt you call me? I then reminded her that i had called her the minute i had realised we were lost and i again apologised.
On consulting my watch i saw that effectively we were only 15min late because i had called her 10min before my appointment to get directions and it was now ony 10:15am when she phoned.
I was absolutely disgusted!! I was very very upset and what was supposed to be a happy occasion when picking out a wedding cake turned out to be a nightmare.
I then asked my fiance to please call Tanja back immediately and tell her we would not be coming as we were very disappointed at the way we had been treated and the way she handled this situation.
I am appalled that she could talk to a potential client in that manner and she hadnt even met me yet. She also has no way of addressing people and her website and emails she sends are very misleading considering they show someone who is supposed to be helpful and happy and make the process of ordering cakes fun and easy.
Instead i got disgraceful attitude and a spoilt Saturday!! People like this should not be in business if they dont care about their clients or potential client.
