Backworks Reviews

Thomas May 13, 2010
Scammed
At the first appointment, Backworks took my Blue Cross insurance card. All other similar businesses verify coverage, so it was reasonable to expect they would do the same. And I am certain they were aware Blue Cross did not cover TMJ therapy. Blue Cross is not an obscure insurance company. At no time did they even ask for a co-pay.

We were pressured to come 3 times per week. Thankfully, our busy schedule did not allow. Then we are hit with a bill for $1, 500. Backworks charges $235 for 45-50 minutes. This is more than area doctors, dentists, psychiatrists, chiropractors and psychologists charge. This was never mentioned to us.

During the appointment, the therapist taught one exercise and used electrical stimulation. That was it.

I sincerely feel this company intentionally withheld information from us in an attempt to run up a hefty bill. I did call and speak to the billing department the woman was polite and spoke to the owner and had the bill reduced to $1, 200, but I still feel this is a situation of deceptive business practices.
