some questions i would like answered by an employee
This is open for answering by Avelle aka bagborrowsteal employees. I have some concerns about this company. I came across this company by seeing an ad on this site. I, of course being the handbag lover I am, was curious to see if there are complaint, which there are.
I have two questions, really. One (1) is this : how are your bags authenticated? Meaning, what is the process? What expert analysis is done??? I ask this because I have noticed that people who have bought have mentioned there are no authentication cards/certificates that come with the merchandise. So, how in the world are we customers to know whether or not these are real brand names or knock off?? And when I say authentic, I mean authentic BRAND NAME, not like authentic leather. I have been told by scammers who I have NOT bought from that their bags were authentic and "real", and they were real leather, but FAKE brand names.
Another question (2):
Why do you make your return policy a 14 day return policy FROM THE DATE OF ORDER, NOT DATE OF SHIPMENT???
And before you answer with your script about how you want swift returns if people aren't satisfied, and all, I have already seen this response, and that is not what I am asking. What I am asking is why do you make your return policyfrom date of order INSTEAD of date of shipment. I'm saying this because the company has the obvious advantage over the customer, because you are able to allow the merchandise to sit for days, or over a week. If you wanted to, you could have the merchandise sit for over a week to ensure that even if the customer sent back the unwanted merchandise THE DAY THEY RECEIVED IT, they wouldn't be able to get it back to the warehouse in time for the return to be refunded. It seems like your company could make a killing by sending out non authentic bags, after they sit at the warehouse til the last second, and then get to keep the customers' monies because there was no humanly possible way to get it back to the warehouse within those 14 days from date of order. This also ensures that the conusmer will not have time to get the bag authenticated in time as well, so the bags don't even have to be authentic!! Also, what happens if you receive a bag back AFTER those precious 14 days? Do you allow yourselves to keep their money AND the bag, since, after all, they missed out on the 14 day policy?
PLEASE answer this logically, not from the return policy script. I've already read that, I'm asking WHY from the date of purchase instead from the date of SHIPMENT, which would make more sense. Also, remember my question about what happens if you receive bagsback AFTER the 14 day window. Do you keep both their money and the bags??????????????????

I've also found a few things from people on this site who had had negative experiences with your company. I'd like you to take time to address their concerns, if you don't mind. After all, I think it's important that people know how a company treats customers AFTER a sale, dont you? YOU DEMAND THAT WE MOVE AT BREAK NECK SPEED, SO WHY DO YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO TAKE AN EXTREMELY LONG, UNNECESSARY AMOUNT OF TIME FOR YOU TO FUFILL YOUR OBLIGATIONS?????? Remember, potential sellers and buyers would like to know this.

Mrs.CG, as you will see, also has a VERY good question, and so do I-
WHY DOES YOUR COMPANY DEMAND CUSTOMERS SURRENDER THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TO FULFILL A PURCHASE???? WHY in the world is this so?? And PLEASE, don't dare say that it is for security reasons. THERE ARE MANY things I have bought online, and NEVER in my LIFE was I asked to surrender my social security number. ALSO, I have NEVER had to surrender it for renting something either, EVEN A CAR. So, WHAT IS THE REAL REASON FOR ASKING FOR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS??? WHY??? And remember, a crazy scipted excuse will NOT be good enough for potential customers either. ISN'T HAVING A CREDIT CARD NUMBER GOOD ENOUGH??? WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLY GAIN FROM A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER?? RENTING A CAR ONLY REQUIRES A CREDIT CARD OR BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER, WHAT'S THE GAIN?


Oh, and Erin from customer service has said the following- "Our inventory is acquired directly from the designer or through authorized distributors"
Ummm, how can this be??? YOU RESELL USED BAGS, SO HOW IN THE WORLD IS THAT DIRECTLY THROUGH AN AUTHORIZED DISTRIBUTOR????????? It says right there on the website you can sell your bag to them!!! Can you please explain that quote????

Another question from the url from sms2003, here is ANOTHER case where someone has sent you a very expensive bag, has proof you got the bag, and then didn't hear back from you (hmmm, do I detect a trend???) Here is an excerpt of her story:
"I myself have also had issues with this so called COMPANY. They contacted me via email about selling them gently used or new handbags. I decided to sell them a very expensive LOUIS VUITTON handbag. They sent me a label by email VERY QUICKLY. They seemed like they were in a huge hurry to get the handbag. Shortly after, I recieved delivery conformation on the bag. The bag has now been in their hands for over a week, and I haven't recieved my money, or anything. Not even a phone call or an email. I have contacted them over 10 times, and it just seems that I am getting the run around. I WANT MY MONEY OR MY BAG BACK, AND IF I DON'T GET ONE OR THE OTHER, I WILL PROSECUTE THEM TO THE FULLEST"

******I, myself, and I'm sure ANYONE who is considering using your company to buy or sell would like some answers here. Who authenticates these?? Why make a return policy 14 days of order, not shipment??? Why have these ladies NOT received ANY compensation for the expensive bags they've sent you??? Why are you sooo hesitant to compensate them, when you expect us to fulfill ALL demands by you, so quickly?? Why do you need our social security numbers?? If anyone could shed some light on these, I myself and many others would greatly appreciate it. Now, maybe there ARE some logical reasons for these, if so I am opening the floor, and will be very grateful for the attention to these questions. Perhaps this company HAS gotten some unfair negative attention, and I am giving you that oppurtunity to correct what has been said with the truth, which is all that could be asked. BUT, I truly hope that your company will at least reconsider the 14 day return policy to the date of shipment, so that we can have time to ensure that the purchase is what we want, and to give us reasonable time to return it if not.
Also, I would like to say, I am not trying to accuse this company. I am simply pointing out what has been said, and these are some real concerns people who have bought from this company have. We all deserve to know the truth, get some truthful answers, and get the stories straight. If these customers have had their concerns addressed to satisfaction, then your company DESERVES the oppurtunity to let everyone know that your company did do the right thing. This is a win win situation for everyone- for those who have questions, and an oppurtunity for the company to show that they ARE dedicated to customer satisfaction in the midst of many many companies that are out there now only trying to scam others. Please let us know that your company is the exception to that trend.
