Planned a surprise party for Friday, May 1st for my spouse with 40 guests. Printed invitations were sent, I met with Kim (owner chef) and discussed menu. Everything was scheduled and ready to go for the party. I called on several occasions the week before just to finalize all preparations. No one called me back. Finally on Wednesday, April 22nd I got a call stating that Kim decided he didn't want to shut the restaurant for a private party. His employee stated that she told him it was a scheduled event but his comment was either he would do it the following evening or I should just cancel. I had guests coming from out of town so rescheduling the following night was out of the question. He left me scrambling for another restaurant and contacting all the guests. I was aghast that someone would reneg on a commitment and not giving it a second thought. This chef's attitude is reprehensible. I will never recommend Bailey's to anyone that is interested in an establishment that cares about the public.
I was extremely fortunate to have BT's Restaurant prepare an unbelievable event for me at the last minute. The food was spectacular and the service amazing. The party was a tremendous hit.
I'm not looking for any monetary reimbursement. I just want people to know that the owner of Bailey's is not the type of person to be in the service business.
