They need to be sued
I would never do business with this company again!!! I purchased this atv back in November for my kids for Christmas. When we got it home, before it was even unloaded problems started. Pep Boys forgot to give us the keys and title, we got a hold of them and they sent for a new title and took care of that problem. Next it wouldn't start any power what so ever. Pep boys said a lot of times fuses pop and need to be replaced, we had that done. Then Baja’s dealer said the cylaniod was burned up and needed replaced. It is now June 9, 2008 7 months later and Baja has not sent replacement parts to their repair shop to fix this unit, REMEMBER it is still under full warranty. Then one of their management people, Mitch called me said Sorry and the parts were on their way. Ooops he was wrong and so sorry this item has now been discontinued and they are not even making parts for it any more. HOW is this even possible, what about their customers that have these products? I have written to the consumer fraud department in Wichita Kansas and filed a complaint against this company. Because they don’t want to return my money, fix the unit, or replace this unit! But with all I have learned about Baja and their lack of professionalism, and their lack of customer service, I just want my money back anything you would get from them would probably be unable to be fixed. They even admit in their website they carry very little parts for their units!!! DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS

Defective product
My son was given a 49cc SC Scooter for Christmas in Denver. After 100 miles the throttle cable broke.
You have got to be kidding! Of course he has a 90 day warranty and this was not part of the motor plan coverage that good old Pep Boys convinced my friend he needed to buy.
Baja doesn't have the part, says it needs to be on back order for 6-8 weeks, can't contact their assemblers in China to find out the length of the cable so we can try and locate one ourselves and worsens the whole situation by insinuating that this is part of wear and tear.

Bike is less than 6 months - engine gone
I bought my son a 49cc Baja dirt bike for $450.00 in Sept. 07. By Nov. 07 the engine was not running properly. It would not idle. Soon as the weather started warming up and after being stored for the winter I took the bike to a factory authorized dealer to have it worked on. Note, the bike had a maximum of 10-15 hours of running time. The mechanic said it was the carburettor. He ordered a new one and put it on the bike. He called me later to let me know the new carburettor didn't fix the problem and the bad news was it needed a new engine. The mechanic sympathized with me because he acknowledge that the bike look like it had very little use on it and he assumed I had just bought it for a Christmas present. He told me he felt like the company should replace the engine. Later that week he called me to tell me the company would not replace the engine since it was past the 90 day warranty. He was very apologetic and repeatedly stated that he still thought the company should replace the engine since there was hardly no use on the bike. He said he would check to see how much a new engine would cost if I were to choose that route. Guess what? He called me back to tell me that a new engine would cost $300.00 plus $60.00 shipping. It will cost another $60.00 labour to install it on the bike. If my calculations are right that’s $420.00 which is only $30.00 dollars less than I paid for the bike new!!!

Bad service
Poor assembly. Asked for 2 nuts and a gasket 4 header that fell off, or specs so I could do it myself. Didn't send either, only had one hour on engine. Email they sent back wanted me to take to a service site, but only after I sent them a bunch more info which means I'd have to drive 40 miles round trip to get what they wanted. I wouldn't buy a pumpkin from those people anymore!!
Why so difficult. What would two nuts and a gasket cost to ship to a would be second time buyer. These folks must be nuts? I told them I have two sons and 4 grandkids. Can you imagine what a good review from me could have done for sales?

They are consumer fraud
I purchased a 49cc atv from pep-boys(Baja motorsprts)when I went to pick it up they said they had a problem with the rear end locking up, they said they would get one from another store, I picked up that one day later, within 5 days the problem started rear end locked up ...pepeboys refused to take it back 5 days old Baja has not supported me at all 45 days later the unit still is not right, their seems to be a problem with all their so -called repair centers..no customer support I would be glad to tell you more, there is countless inconsistencies in how pep-boys and Baja is handling this, if you don't believe this go to the BBB of Arizona Baja has an unsatisfactory rating with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU...I WILL CONTINUE THIS FIGHT..PLEASE FOLLOW UP WITH SOME ADVICE.
