I've Bajaj Pulsar -150 cc, purchased on April-2005 in Pune from Bajaj Company Showroom.
Everything was fine with service. One fine day (Jan 2007) I found that my auto-starter is not working, so I took my bike to the company service center in Sivajinagar (Pune, time around 5:30 PM IST). The battery guy told one fuse is not working, so he removed that fuse (out of two) and adjusted the one remaining fuse to work. One thing which I noticed was that the fuse he adjusted has no socket and he used tape to stick it.
Within one hour of this fix, the problem started again, so I went to the service center again and told the problem. There was another guy who attended this and asked one mechanic to see, the mechanic said to me the tape went loose so connection is failing from fuse. Now he cut the wire (removed the plastic shell) and said he is going to bring tape to fix this from basement.
During that point of time the connector wire of the fuse (which was lying open) accidently touched the metal of the bike and suddenly all the electrical wire started burning , there was all smoke everywhere later they removed the wire which was touching the metal and thing came to normal.
After this they said may be wire is burnt, you keep the bike here and collect on coming Monday (this day was Saturday, 27/1/2007); they will try to fix it else replace it.
On Monday when I went there they said they fixed the wire (not replaced) and asked me to pay Rs. 225 as labor charges.
I said this was your mistake why should I pay. Even I'm not asking for replacement as this was accidental happened in front of my eyes (my friend was also there).
The man stated arguing that I've to pay. Finally I paid the money and went to company showroom (at wakhdewadi, Pune) to complain. When the person in charge to whom I complained called them , they started saying lies that there was fault in my vehicle and bla bla bla.
Finally after the intervention of the showroom person they said they will adjust this money in next service.
The point I want to make is that it was there mistake (accidental though), they should take responsibility for it and fix/replace i; instead of that they told lies about my bike and charged me the labor money.
Apart from that two hours of metal harassment which happened to me.
I don't know how good is the fix. If tomorrow it doesn't work again I've to go to there service center and pay for the labor charges, or may be I've to pay for the replacement of entire wire (cost around Rs. 1000/-).
What I'm expecting from Bajaj is to replace my wire with new one as this problem is created by them and also train their service staff to be more careful and truthful to customers.
Thank You.
