Do not shop there
I purchased 3 Bamboo Shades for my patio to block the heat of the sun. When we installed one, we found it to be useless for this purpose because the slats were to wide apart allowing lots of sunshine to pass through. I took them back to Garden Ridge to EXCHANGE them for another style I had seen. I was told that since they were opened I could neither return or exchange them even though I had a receipt. I told them I didn't want a penny back, just wanted to get the right ones because these were useless to us. I asked to speak to the manager but she was "too busy" unloading a truck. Having worked in retail as a manager for 20 years, I was never to busy for my customers. The cashier told me to complain via email to their customer service line. I did and did not hear back from them until 1 week later. They just repeated their NO return/exchange policy for unwrapped goods. I did not think I was unreasonable since I only wanted an exchange and the blinds were never used. I called the store to talk to the manager (if she wasn't "busy") but all I got was a recorded message with no option to talk to a real person. I decided to write a letter with all receipts attached to the CEO, CFO, Area Manager and store manager and explain the situation. To this day (month's later) I have not heard back from ANY of them. I have NEVER dealt with a company that cares so little for their customers. With the economy in a downturn, they need to think twice how they treat their customers because this company will not survive. I was a loyal customer until then and had spent hundreds of dollars there. I feel violated, used and ignored. I WILL NEVER SHOP IN A GARDEN RIDGE STORE AGAIN. Buyers Beware...eventually you will be in a similar predicament and they care nothing about you.
