charges / business practices
When I 1st opened an account with bank of america. I was told I could open a savings account at the same time no charge if I transfered money directly each month. So I had them transfer $20.00 on the 5th and the 20th. So when I started getting charges a fee. I called and was then told I had to have $25.00 per transactions or there was a fee. Not a problem had I been told $25.00 is no that much more than $20.00. I had also been told that with a saving acct if my checking didn't have enough funding to keep checks from bouncing they would automatically transfer, great! until a fee showed up. How had is it to let people know this. Of course, this is my fault for being so trusting. When they couldn't even get putting my photo on my bank card. You would think by now I've got the ground rules cover. But low and behold I get a fee for money being transferred again from my savings because I had transferred $50.00 after 10pm and even if my account showed it. It woukd not be posted until the next day so they transferred it for a fee. And just today. My sister was charged to overdraft fees. My sister talked to a customer service agant re: reason for overdraft fees. He looked over her statement and could not find where she had bounced any checks. So he contacted a supervisor who began rambling calling out different date of which none showed a neg. balance. But insisted it was. Refunded 1 fee. I've asked my sisiter to call back tommorrow and to talk to someone who can mail proof of checks, previous balance and balance at close of that day. She was informed that a pending transaction is automat. taken out not a problem, but if someone makes a mistake and charges you twicw you better have the money in the account. I t will be taken out and a overdraft fee will be charged and if they do not receive paperwork then the fee and charge will be refunded. That playing funny with your money if you ask me. She said this was the new banking system. Also was informed balance on pending statement my not really show what you have been charged. Incompatients doesn't start to begin to describe bank of america. Not sure I hold out much hope with other as well. But our whole family has begun looking to find it. Best bank we had was bank of mineola, wish they would have had a few more branches. Down home people friendly will explain things you don't understand and know you when you walk in or if they don't atleast you feel like it.
