I just finished a purchase of an investment property in Las Vegas and the loan process was a complete disaster! My loan officer was great, however, once my rate was locked, I never spoke to him again and I was handed off to the processing department. Its obvious that the back office is under-paid and the hiring process has very little professional filters. My loan processor made error after error while procesing our loan, which culminated in a 2 month long process that shold have only taken 30 days. We had to entend our escrow 4 times do to poor servicing. The errors include: Title as completed incorrectly, double charged for insurance, mis-handling of pertinent documents and personal information, miscommunications between processors and u/w, miscommunications between closers and processors, error and error after error. The back office/operations is completely inefficient and its no wonder why the loan process takes so long! We refinance our primary residence through a broker and had it closed and funded in 3 weeks. Going direct for the purchae was the biggest mistake!

FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO PURCHASE A HOME OR REFINANCE, DO NOT GO TO BANK OF AMERICA DIRECT! USE A BROKER! THEY INCENTIVIZE THEIR PROCESING STAFF WHICH MAKES FOR A MORE PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT AND EASIER PROCESS.
