Name change without my permission
BOFA is kind of backwards in some ways as a rsult of being very southern in origin. I submitted a check reorder with my full name on it only to receive new checkd with park of my last name being changed to an initial. BOFA has personnel that make changes without authorization which really pissed me off when I provided the correct way m y name should be on the checks. BOFA dos not get it when a customer has two last names such as mine. To make pat of the last name an initial is just plain stupid. I do intend to go into one of it poor customer service centers on the South Side where you are treated and greeted with an attitude like "what do you want?" My exerience with North Side service center is much more pleasant. I wonder why, but blieve BOFA know the answer very well. Lack of respect for South Side Customers in general!!!

Is Ruining My Credit
Bank of America is ruining my credit! I've been lucky enough to keep my job through out this recession. I make six figures and have always been financially responsible. I've been unlucky enough that Bank of America has aquired two of my credit card accounts. I already had two lines of Credit with BOA. I've NEVER been late with a payment and actually pay more each month than what is due. They have continued to drop my credit so that it appears that I am right at my limits. For example: I had an MBNA credit card with an $18, 000 limit. I made a $5, 000 payment and they lowered my limit to 13, 000. I just made a $2500 payment and they lowered my limit the additional $2500. I just needed to buy a car and because it looks like I'm at my limit on all of my BOA accounts- I had to get a higher interest rate! I just paid off one of my BOA lines of credit ($9, 950) and the closed the account. They are taking good people thatt are working very hard to make their obligations and screwing them. My credit has dropped from good to fair thanks to BOA! There has got to be someone we can talk to about this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hidden costs
Whenever one chooses a service with them, there are many hidden costs that one will only discover once paid.
For example, I canceled 3 lost checks, and now I discover that I paid a fee of 30 Dollars for it, where as there were no mention of such a fee at the moment of my request.
Another example: I opened an saving account after asking if there is "any fee", and they told me no.Then I found out, if there is less than 600 Dollars on your account, there is a monthly fee that one need to pay.
The worst is their client service: they told me that "we can close your account if you are not happy with our service!" The power of MONOPOLY!

Bank closed account that was paid in full
Bank of America called to tell us that they were closing an account that we had just paid off to zero. We had been customers for 9 years and had a credit limit of $32, 000. We had just made a huge payment to them due to the refinancing of our primary home. With the refinance, we paid of 2 credit cards and a small second mortgage. The credit card balances were due to unforeseen medical expenses. We had never really carried much of a credit card balance before. All of a sudden, Bank of America states that we are a credit risk! Our income did not change and our mortgage payment only went up by $300.00 from the previous payment. They would not just lower our credit limit ...they had to completely close our account! So now their actions will affect our credit scores. We are penalized for doing the right thing! I will never do business with them again and I urge everyone to stop before they open any sort of account with them. This is not the right way to treat customers. There really is no reason this should have happened. We are appalled and to say the least upset.

loan modifications and foreclosure
My second complaint about Bank of America. I am at the underwriter with my loan modification. I have been told by every agency and lawyer that I am a great candidate for a loan modification. I was told the entire time by B of A that while I am in an loan modification that if I go into foreclosure that a sale date would be postponed. While doing the modification which started in Feb 2010, and they have been dragging their feet. Well in September they put me in foreclosure and would not take my payments and then in late November set a sale date. I have called many times and they won't postpone it till 2 weeks before the sale date and there is not quarantee if they will postpone it at all. The newest information is I will probably not get the modification due to there being too much equity in the house. You supposely can't have more than 20% inquity in your home Why was that not told to me in February when this all started. I could have applied for a Harp (gov refinance) program while my credit was not that bad. Now my only choice is to file for bankruptcy so I don't lose my home. When this all started I was only 2 weeks behind in my payments and should have waited till I got an extra paycheck then to agree to their forebearance and loan modification. Not only to they call daily with collection calls, most of the time when I talk to them they are rude and hang up on you. I talk to lawyers and they are willing to help me and want my business till they find out how much equity is in the house.

Mortgage Modification/Foreclosure
I lost my second job and had my income reduced by 3% through statewide furloughs (I'm a state employee). I got behind on my mortgage payments and heard about the Home Affordable Modification Program through a friend. I applied for modification through Bank of America (BOA) in early August 2010 and was able to send in payments for all of the months I was behind. BOA sent three of my checks back. I called them to inquire as to why and she told me my home was in foreclosure. She said I would need to send a cashier's check for $3804 for the four payments as my personal checks would not be honored. I Fed Ex overnighted the check for that amount. A few days later, I got an overdraft notice from my regular bank. BOA had cashed the last check instead of returning like the others and overdrew my account. I called to find out why they had not honored three personal checks and had the other one. After being put on hold on and off for an hour, and explaining to the cust. rep that I had been accepted into the Modification program, she finally told me that my mortgage had NEVER been in foreclosure and that I should continue to make my modification payments (preferrably by phone so I know they are received on time). I have paid in full all my mortgage payments, but yesterday I was served with foreclosure papers!!! The forms state that I havent made a mortgage payment since MAY 2010 although I have a cancelled check for MAY as well as my statements saying the $3804 cashiers check paid June, July, Aug and Sept. I also have my bank statements confirming my OCT, NOV, and DEC modification payments...all by the first of each month.
CAN THEY DO THIS?!? I AM BESIDE MYSELF. I cannot afford a lawyer so I am sending to the court and their attorney all my proof.

Mortgage Pre-Approval and Process
Corrupt Mortgage Loan Practices! Very subjective to borrowers with excellent credit. The processing department out of Arizona is by far the most corrupt group of individuals. Specifically the manager of processing Ron Gillett. Stay with your documents. Stay on top of the process. Hold their feet to the fire. Know your rights. Know the law. This will be a class if you apply for a loan through BOA and if you pass it, you get to close on a loan an actually move into your home. If not, like many you will have to take the class again with another lender if it is not too late. Poor customer service. They do an excellent job of reeling you in with the Pre-approval and are very courteous. It is the processing and underwriting that will be a CHALLENGE. Hope you get at least a B and pass the class with BOA.
