Poor customer service
I am canceling my mortgage application with BOA. I am bewildered. I am not sure who to blame for the lack of response and communication concerning this loan. I went with BOA because I expected great communication and service. Before I applied, I ask Colleen Mitchell (loan officer) a question...Will my loan be approved and ready for closing by 5/14/10. This was in February. She said that it would not be a problem.

A week and some days had gone by and there was no response. I called and left messages. No response until the end of that week. She says that she needs the contract before she can start on anything, even though I had sent my information to her. Why did she not tell my Realtor and I this? My Realtor sent her the information. Guess what? My information is still not submitted/inputted into the system. Finally Sheila Melendez (her assistant) did it. Thank God for that.

I am still calling and emailing Colleen only to find out through another person that she no longer works for BOA. There goes another week. After a while I was contacted by Zoila with information that I needed to send/fax. I did just that by the end of the day (I thought). If I forgot to send something or I forgot to sign a letter, just pick up the phone and tell me or send an email saying...Hey, I got the letter but it is not signed. That is simple.

I feel as if I am so alone on this deal. I am trying to make it work but I am in a tunnel listening to my echo. I know that they are busy and have other loans to process. I know that my loan is not much money ($19, 200) at all compared to other home loans. I know that some things are probably out of their hands. But communicate with me. If I send an email, it is OK and your responsibility to respond or get someone to do so.

I have been down this road before with the other closing that I completely gave up on that took 5 months to close. I can not go through this again. I thought that by coming to BOA their processes would be more efficient and the communication would be better. I have been a customer with them since 1999 and I will say that I am saddened at the way this has turned out.

I have given the documents that you requested "online" quickly and orderly. I know that most people do not do what I have done. Does BOA realize that the news has published that you are the worst bank in the country for customer service? You had an opportunity to prove them wrong...with me. Do not think that this is easy for me.

I am loosing $1340 of my hard earned money. You have taken $535 for an appraisal and $35 for a credit report from me (upfront). I had to pay $300 for a survey and my $500 earnest money is gone also. That hurts.

Truste Sale
My Dr. took me out of work because I became ill, Cigna the Disability carrier for the company that I worked for, refused to pay my disability claim so I was left without any Income at all… So I called Bank of America and asked about a loan modification, one of their agents told what materials to gather and fax them to Bank of America’s Modification Department which I did… About 4 days later I received a letter form Bank of America saying congratulations on taking the 1st step in saving your home… The next time I hear from Bank of America it’s from their Collections Department and trying to get in touch with them is virtually impossible… When I did, they informed me that I did qualify for their Modification Program and that is 7 to 10 days I would receive a package by FedEx with the paperwork to fill out and return to BAC… Well now my home is scheduled for a Trustee Sale in July and it’s been a month and I have still not received to FedEx package… I have lost my vehicle, and now I’m afraid I will lose my home, my Domestic Partner and I are both disabled and she suffers from Multiple Sclerosis, she had her back fused and I have Diabetes, High Blood Pressure which both are out of control, I also have PAD a bad left shoulder and arm, and suffer with a Panic Disorder… Bank of America doesn’t care about nothing but their Millions in Profits that they make every year…

over draft fee
This is just classic big bank behavior of the 21st century. After depositing money at 10:18 PM (time will be a theme here) into a Bank of America ATM I subsequently logged into my account via my iPhone app to schedule a transfer to my savings account. I proceed through the prompts and reach the final screen before the transfer is completed. At the bottom it reads "Make sure there are sufficient funds in the From account. Otherwise, overdraft, returned item, or other fees may apply. See your Account Agreement and Fee Schedule for details." I glance up at my available balance to find that it is sufficiently greater than the amount I intend to transfer and thus click "Make Transfer". With my money properly allocated, I proceed to walk home.

In the morning I check the balances on my various accounts, as I've gotten in the habit of doing, and discover that I have overdraft fees. During a rather rude and patronizing conversation with a customer service rep I'm informed that all ATM deposits made after 8:00 PM do not officially post until the next day. I'm told this is so because, and I'm paraphrasing, that the accountants can't work 24 hours per day. A fair point, but why then was my balance transfer processed ahead of my cash deposit? It seems to me that these transactions should be processed sequentially. Well, as it turns out balance transfers will post up to 10:45 PM on the same day. I argue with the customer service representative that that's unrealistic for customers to expect that different transactions have different posting times. He argues that the iPhone app clearly says that all balance transfers made after 10:45 PM will post the next day and that since I made the transfer at 10:18 I should have known that the transfer would be processed immediately. Another fair point, but only superficially so because the app only informs you of the time table for processing transactions AFTER YOU'VE MADE THE TRANSFER. What's more the available balance listed included my ATM deposit. So how can the money I deposited be included in my available balance and simultaneously NOT be available? A good question for Bank of America, one that I'm hoping they'll be able to answer soon.

Coming from a longstanding loyal customer, I really feel slapped in the face
I have been a long customer with Bank Of America . For the most part I was a satisfied customer. But now something has changed. They have really changed for the worse. If it's because of the economy, that is no excuse. I had just refinanced my home and I was told I would get a refund of a certain amount from my escrow. I was given an exact amount, told many times, and from several sources. Now I get my check, after the papers were signed, and it came out to about 1/3 of what I was promised. To make matters worse, I'm given the complete run around in trying to get to the bottom of this. Clearly, there is no inter-communication within the company. I would say to anyone shopping around, keep your eyes open for another bank. Coming from a longstanding loyal customer, I really feel slapped in the face.

Dishonest bank
Bank of America is a very dishonest bank, there thing is to trick you or cheat you in anyway possible. And believe me when i tell you that they are liars. I don't want to spend all day writing a book on how they have cheated me but i am going to take the time to post this so when people come to look they will find yet another person saying that the things bank of America are doing are against the law. who is going to protect the people from these bullies? they are picking on and ripping off the elderly and so much more. its disgusting to use the word America in there name.

In my last twenty year I have not experience any worst customer services
In my last twenty year I have not experience any worst customer services which I experience on 1/22/2010. I am 20 years customer and paying my bill on time on two cards. Bank of America Visa and FIA Master Card. I called because they reduce my credit line and that effects my credit. Upon calling the Bitch of BOFA closed my accounts with insulting remarks for my credit report. Which was result of Furlough since I am a state employee (CA). I dont know how to deal with this.

the scam of loan modification
After discovering what was originally involved in my loan process, I immediately called ( Countrywide) at the time in an attempt to refinance. Please keep in mind that I had a credit rating of 825 and was operating a solvent business...I had no problem making the payment, but I saw there would be a problem with the loan in the future. I was ready, willing and able to refinance. I had no bad debts at the time...This was early 2007... They refused to refinance because they had decided that the upscale area of Olde Naples Fl. would be a " high risk" area.. This despite the fact that it is one of the best real estate investment that one could make. They told me that if I could pay another 25% down in addition to my years of having paid on the loan ( 7) and never being late on a payment ...and then they could consider a refinancing... This of course, would have headed off any future problems.

Fast forward to the economic crisis... My company is struggling and on the brink of going under. I have let everything go except the mortgage... i have tried consistently for two years to find a solution w/ Countrywide and then B of A... I was completely and utterly exasperated... they would not even look at a loan modification ...
I was told on 4 separate occasions that if I wanted anyone to even speak to me about a loan modification that I would have to be at least 90 days late on a payment before they would even take the information for a loan mod.
Subsequently, I said... all right... I am going to let the payments go 90 days .. They warned me my credit would be affected, but at that point, it was a moot point because my credit ( for the first time in my life) had already been decimated.
I then proceeded to put in a call weekly attempting to apply for a loan modification. Please keep in mind, that during these 3 -4 months, I never received a call from them - I never received any kind of a late notice - and I was never contacted by either the collection or the loan modification depts. Actually, I was never contacted at all regarding ANYTHING despite the fact that I called weekly... Suddenly, I speak to another one of the thousand's of reps that have " no information" and they tell me that my home had been turned over to their attorney's for foreclosure process. I absolutely erupted... i demanded their attorney's name & phone number and all the information. They gave me the numbers and said that a letter had been sent out the previous month ( January) that said there might be a variety of possible actions...I never received any letter at all at any time...
I call the attorney.. They tell me that no letter had ever been sent to me because my house had been submitted for foreclosure but they were told not to proceed the next day - so my house was not being processed for foreclosure. They had no idea why .. they assumed that B of A wanted to see if I wanted to work something out.

I called B of A back and gave them THEIR information ( that they didn't have)... I had just listened to three people telling me that I would have to go down to the courthouse and see when the sale date was...
NOW, they tell me that I can apply for the loan modification process and that they would take the information on all my bills etc.. on a monthly basis and income etc... I gave them every bit of information and asked what the process was and how I should proceed. They told me I would be contacted by a " negotiator" once someone had been assigned the case. At that point, they would speak to me and send out a packet of information. I called back every week to see where the process was... Each time, I was told something slightly different but that I was pre -approved and should wait to receive the packet of information to fill out. Please keep in mind that I called weekly attempting to get a negotiator's name or a phone number that I could call and follow up with... Their reply: There was no way to contact them or any direct phone number until it had been assigned...

TODAY, I WAS SERVED A NOTICE OF FORECLOSURE...after being told one week ago that the loan modification application had not yet been processed and that they were running 45 days late...I called their attorney immediately and left a message. Coincidentally, I receive my FIRST message from B of A's mortgage dept...I call them back and the rep says that oh yes, it was in foreclosure but it hadn't gone to sale.. I was livid and asked what had happened to the loan modification application.. She said that it had been denied in february...???? I hadn't even given them them information until April...
I then asked her why none of them had this information the last 5 months and why hadn't they shared this essential information. She said that she had no idea, but that it was clearly on my record !
I asked what happened to my loan mod application and she replied that they had records of all of my telephone calls, but that I had NEVER GIVEN THEM THE INFORMATION... Not only had I given them the information but I called back three times to review it and check the status. I had all dates and representatives names...AND THEY HAD NO RECORD OF THE INFORMATION and thus, they just proceeded with a foreclosure notice at which time... they now saw fit to finally contact me to attempt to "work something out"
HUHHHHHHHHHHH?????????????? Their suggestion was that I should make the payments and make a larger payment every month to make up the $$$ from the missed mortgage payments...I said why would I believe that she was telling me anything more legitimate than anyone else had for the last 2 years...My guess would be they would attempt to get those payments and proceed with foreclosure anyway...and anyway... if I could afford THAT .. I would have made the other payments!

After an hour of heated discussion - she took all the financial information that I had ALREADY GIVEN THEM 3 TIMES and promised to have a manager call me back in 48 hours to attempt to do see what they could do... She also said she would stay on top of the acct and call if someone did not contact me within 48 hrs...
I am sure that they will have nothing available that I suggested ( reduced overall balance )- reduced payments for a period of time...pay over a longer period of time...etc...and that they will proceed with foreclosure.

If there is anyone that would like to get a class action suit against B of A mortgage division, please let me know. They have indulged in fraudulent practices, they have instructed consumers to miss payments for 90 days leading them to believe they could work out a loan modification when they were simply going to proceed with foreclosure and attempt to get more money out of the consumers...They take down information with absolutely no intention of doing anything with it and scam the consumer...

I am at the point that I honestly believe that everyone should walk away from these banks that will not work with the consumers in a reasonable manner. It is the only way to force them into having to actually do what they " promised" Congress they would be doing. I do not know one person who has been successful in getting a loan modification... DOES ANYONE ???????????

Please reply of you have ever experience anything remotely similar to this?????

Thank you all for your patience and consideration...

Sincerely,
JK

Shame on you, Bank of America
I got a withdrawal fee on my savings account last month. When I called BOFA, they told me that the Federal Government had a limit on how many withdrawals you could make a month. They told me it was three including ATM withdrawals. I went to the banking regulation site and in actuality, the number of withdrawals or transfers you can make per statement period is SIX and ATM withdrawals are exempt! I called BOFA back and the customer service rep again tried to blame it on Federal Regulations. He then read it to me and I pointed out the errors. He finally admitted that the policy was Bank of America 's. I felt that I was lied to and I resented the fact that after 20 years of banking with BOFA that they would start nickel and diming me over what they considered "excessive withdrawals" - more than three a statement period. I took my money out of my savings and am currently looking for a bank that adheres to the Federal Regulations of six withdrawals with AMT withdrawals exempt. Shame on you, Bank of America!!!

Harassment
Bank of America is currently harassing me.

I was awarded money in a divorce settlement that I cannot collect from them because they will not divide my ex wife's and my assets without court paperwork. The courts are closed half the week due to budget cuts, and the paperwork has been tied up since January.

In the mean time, I have been laid off from my part time jobs, am on rental assistance and food stamps, and have missed a truck payment and defaulted on my credit card. They call me daily and I tell them the same thing.

One department can't get me my money while the other harasses me about not paying my bill on time. And neither will talk to each other or try to work with me!

Bank of America should be investigated and fined for their policies of harassment of customers!
