Cheating Customer on $100 Promotion
Bank of America is CHEATING customer on its current promotion of $100 bonus.

I did whatever it required; opened with $500 minimum, used check card one time, opened for 30 days. But their Vice President of Deposit Sales and Marketing, Paul R. Seddon wrote and refused to honor the promise based on a nonsense excuse of ..."the promotional incentive was declined as the account did not meet the funding requirement"...even after 5 e-mails to walk them through the promotion requirement.

Check out the promo page for proof http://www.bankofamerica.com/promos/jump/uspsmovers/index.cfm
I was surprised to see "bigger" bank, like Bank of America, acts as cheaty as "smaller" bank such as TC*Bank that is offering $50 bonus.

Customer Service
Bank of America sucks! I've been trying to get a hold of someone to answer a question about my home mortgage loan and why they made changes to it without my authorization and I am yet to get to the right person to answer me. Every time I call, I am kept on hold for 20-30 minutes only to be told that it's not the right dept. and they need to transfer me, and then I hold for another 20-30 minutes. After a coule of hours of being on hold and getting transferred, they just hang up, so I never get to the "right departmment". This is the worse system I have ever had to deal with.

I am yet to get a hold of the "right department" and someone who could give me an answer.

I do not have enough words to explain how bad this bank is
I would rate them absolute NEGATIVE if there was an option for that -8 them. They hide behind legalities and documentation like lawyers with a pathological lying disorder. They charged me annually for my credit card like 29$ yearly. Not so bad right? WRONG. The reason they got me to get the damn credit card in the first place was because they told me there was no annual fee. I even asked them if they there were any hidden fees. (Yes stupid question. As if any of them would admit that.) After I had it for like 2 months I found the stupid annual fee for it. So I went there and talked to them about it. They said that it was only 1 time and I would never get charged again for it and said that the 25$ referral fee they gave me would just minus it out anyways. So I thought fine so I lose 4 bucks ok. BADDER still the 25$ referral fee they gave me wasn't instantly given. I found out it was sent in by mail. Which already expired days prior. So went there again and they told me that I had to call the number on the card and that the bank outlet could'nt help me with that. So went home and called the number and guess what the guy on the phone said? "Sorry we do not issue checks. You have to go to your local bank to ask for a new one." F*** THEM hard.

Did I mention they also have affiliations with dubious scammers?

Two words: RESERVATION REWARDS

I forgot to mention this. I was still getting CHARGED annually. Talked to them again and they said they would get me a new credit card. I got the mail and it said I did'nt have enough credit score...

BURN THEM TO HELL WITH THIS RECESSION!!!

They also charge me minor fees that have absolutely no sense.

I'm also posting this on as many review sites as I can get! I don't want anyone else to suffer because of them!

Credit card
I had a credit card with Bank of America and carried a balance. I purchased, from Bank of America's website account insurance to take care of this debt incase of involuntary unemployment or disability. I suffered a disabling injury in Oct. 2008 and filed with the insurance company that Bank of America owns. They repeatedly denied my claim.
I have been declared permanently disabled for a year by the Social Security Adminstration as my arm is not likely to grow back.
The insurance company that Bank of America markets on their website is liable for this debt, not me because of the insurance I had purchased in good faith. I filed a claim and they repeatedly denied it.
I look forward to seeing them in court and intend to sue for fraud for selling insurance and not having any intent for honoring claims.

Escrow overpayment reimbursment
I discovered Bank of America owed me $954.26, when I found the escrow check with tax return papers in January 2010. Dated 2/24/09, the check was void after 180 days, but my local BOA assured me that it would be reissued, when they completed their process.
The idiocy began 6 weeks ago with Inquiry #1. It first went through the wrong department of their own mortgage division. When the promised time expired we were subsequently told why.
Their process restarted with ReInquiry #2 and when said check did not arrive as promised the next inquiry revealed the check number submitted was incorrect. The number they noted as incorrect was the exact number on the original check in my hand. So they resubmitted it to the correct department, promising a new check in hand in one week. When Inquiry #3 failed to materialize a new check, it was explained the original check, void for 0ver 4 months, had to receive a stop payment order, before the new check could be processed. That initiated ReInquiry #4 with the promise of a personal phone call to me as soon as the check's status was known, as soon as the proper person could be found to verify the check's status, enroute or not. Whew!
That was 5 days ago. I shouldn't complain, as I could be the poor person waiting on the phone to call me.

The worst customer service I've ever had in my life
Tuesday, (3/24) I went into your Branch at Gilbert and Guadalupe to pay overdraft fees and figure out why I wasn't receiving banking notifications. I was already very embarrassed about the situation, and the teller made me feel like I wasn't valued at all. When I asked about the notifications, she automatically assumed I was trying to get out of fees, and proceeded to tell me any errors were mine and my fees were not her problem. It was extremely rude and unprofessional. At this point I asked if there was a phone number or person I could talk to higher up, and she refused, saying there was none. I've always had great service with Bank of America, but I was so upset by this experience, I asked her to close my account. I doubt I'll be back. That was the worst customer service I've ever had in my life.

Ripping their consumer off
Recently I opened a savings account at Bank of America in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo branch). I was told that I had to open a checking account and deposit a small amount of like $25. It was just formality. My February shows that they charged me $20 service fees.

What is wrong with this bank? I had heard horror stories about them, but never had experience any. Mine is not a honor story. It is just dishonesty. Bank’s stupidity and lack of competency got us into the current mess and now they are ripping off consumers.

Lack of processing a short sale
Same complaint on Bank of America lack of fire under their asses to process our short sale of almost 1 year! Same information, all documents sent, two arrasials, the whole nine yards. As of April of 09, we have had
( 4 ) buyer's! All but one so far, have gotten sick of waiting for a negoitator to take the file, and send it to the "investors". We are contacting a lawer. This has to be criminal. We can't even get a car because this is still over our head.

answer is always NO
I banked with Bank of America for over 15 years, and finally had enough of their "NO", "NO", "NO" to loan requests, and their ever-increasing fees for everything. I switched to BECU (Boeing Employees Credit Union and within one month, got one of their VISA cards, a line of credit, and refinanced my vehicle through them. In addition to getting the usual Debit card. I have good credit but even still Bank of America always said no, so I had to go. It helped seeing all the things on TV about the banks, and seeing a guy standing on the corner near my local Bank of America, telling people to leave Bank of America and go to a local credit union.. I'M THRILLED THAT I DID.
