Purchased a HP desktop from Tiger Direct and was convinced to by the extended service plan for 149.00 and it was for on site repairs. Sounds great right? Wrong after calling Bankers Warranty Group I was told a company called VT Services would come out to make the repairs. Well when I get the call from VT Services they said they do not do in home repairs they pick up the item to be repaired and take it to their service center to make repairs and then return it. They told me if I have a problem with that to call the warranty company and discuss it with them ( Bankers Warranty Group). So me thinking that the customer is always right did just that and guess what I was told? I was told that if I read the small print on the contract it states that the item to be serviced may need to be shipped or taken to a service center if repairs cannot be made on site. So I asked how that is determined when no one has looked at my PC yet? I was told by a supervisor from "BWG Well sometimes the service company cannot make repairs or they may not have the tools to make the repairs on site". I then stated that VT Services says they never make on site repairs and what they have done is sold a product to me fraudulently.They said no they didn't and then basically told me that the only service center for my area is VT Services and that is their policy and I have no other choice. Still looking at Tiger Directs web site and pretending to purchase a PC with warranty no where does it say anything other then repairs will be made on site. So I don't know what to do the big company wins again and the little guy gets stepped on like trash I will definitely reconsider purchasing any extended warranty in the future. And after looking up VT Services they have had a lot of complaints about them also. I wish they would just send me my 149-99 back and I would repair it myself!
