Listen folks - Barbizon has been around for 70 thats seventy years! you dont get to last that long and be a scam. I suppose Carmen Electra, David Archuleta, Ryan Phillippe, Drew Tyler Bell, Lisette Diaz(Miss US World), Jill Wagner or Jordan Monaghan, who is now with Elite NY and stars as Maria in the ABC Family show "The Secret Life."

Do you think any of them would say it was a scam?

And they represent only a tiny fraction of the success stories.

I suppose there all scams too because they all attended and graduated from there and went on to benefit from it.

It's easy to point the finger and trash people, organizations, companies etc.. a sad commentary on a an all to acceptable way of avoiding responsibility.

Every single situation in my life whether I was hurt, lied to, betrayed, defrauded etc, I had some part in it, intentional or not I was still present - so accept your part and let the others who are enjoying their experience do so and stop putting lies into people heads.

I didn't hear anyone say I paid them and they never delivered they stole my money and disappeared! Now that would be a scam!!

And just for the record I was a Barbizon graduate back in 1973 and I can tell you before that I was an introverted, insecure kid who went on to become a successful serial entrepreneur, business leader, well rounded individual. I didn't become a famous Movie star although I did model work on some movies with Gena Davis, Keaneu Reeves, Dustin Hoffman, Andy Garcia and others. As a matter of fact one of the companies I founded was in the fashion design business and even today in my fifties I get asked if I model. I honestly don't think I would have come out of my shell if not for the sacrifice of my mother a single parent made, it must have been very hard for her of course as a young man I dont think I was very cognizant of it then.

I know that times are challenging for many and a school of this type may not be in the budget, and that's ok.

So maybe the thing to do is not to expose your child to the possibilities in the first place so that neither you nor your child have to be put in an uncomfortable situation.

Folks... open your eyes, BARBIZON MODELING is the bigest scam ever. They just want your money, more and more and more. ANY one is good to go. They say that your kid is wonderfull, that they have skills bla, bla bla.. They want your money, that's all. The people are friendly only while they are trying to convince you to get in, after that they don't give a damm. Poor classes, poor "teachers". They promise pictures at the end of the classes to build your photo shut... yes there are pictures, but you have to pay again.. and is a lot of money.

My neice has been signed with barbizon and they said she has a great unique look because she has natural red hair, naturally straigh teeth and now all they want is 2100.00 to teach her how to walk, put on makeup and do her hair...

there are noooooo guarentees ofjobs, if they were a modeling agency they would do your hair makeup and clothes...and pay you..my friend is a pro photographer who has shot covers of seventeen and other mags...he said its all a scam to get her money.

Please look up all the new laws that are in affect as of 2010 for modeling schools... Barbizon is not following the law or beleive they need too. Most of these new laws were put into place because of Barbizon San Francisco.. and John Robert Powers (JRP) Look up the Labor Commision in San Francisco and the new laws y0u'll find Barbizon S.F. has choosen to not follow the law and is very dishonest and very misleading.. I highly suggest that you think twice before going to Barbizon, or J.R.P. modeling schools.. There are many other great modeling and acting studios in the area, consider those before Barbizon.. You'll be glad you did..

All I am thinking is, when will someone put an end to barbizon and their scam? does anybody ever get their money back and who do you call when one become a victim by barbizon? Are they untouchable? are they bigger than the law? People like us need to know where to go for help. Consumers are always being ripped off and there seem to be no place to turn for help after the fact. I would like to know how to get my money back. I have visa receipt and rest paid in cash. I have the barbizon, s receipts.
