Poor service!
I opened a Savings account on the 6th July 2007 and today on the 9 January 2008 I find out I am 252.25 in the red because I have made a total of 6 transactions and each transactions costs P100!! I was shocked to find this out because i don't remember at any point the clerk that opened the account for me mention this! I had left a balance of P500 in the initial P1000 I had deposited during the crazy festive season! I was made to run up and down the bank from clerk to clerk only to be told at the end I had to pay the charge so no matter how much I complain I'm gonna have to couch up! Now I admit to all those transactions but to be told every time I take my MONEY i have to pay some over weight fat cat a P100 and not to be aware of this now that I have a definite problem with. What is wrong with the banking system in Botswana because I have had Savings Accounts before in another countries and never in my life was I to pay 100 bucks for a lousy withdrawal and with these previous Savings Accounts I had a Visa card and in Botswana they didn't even give me a card and I had to endure long queues each time!and for this I have to pay P600!! Well I scoff at that and it's a pity I don't know of any consumer rights bodies to lodge my case with because what Barclays bank is doing is broad day light robbery!!!

Harassing with sales calls!
I am getting 5-10 calls per day from so called DSA's of Barclays bank to sell their credit cards. Especially from one particular phone # 6454 8732 (Bangalore). Inspite of me telling them to remove my number from their calling list they HARASS me with their calls and unprofessional callers.

Barclays bank officials gave me a phone number to register in the Do Not Call list (phone # 6001 6001) this number is always engaged. Until and unless some serious rules are implemented by the TRAI and Supreme Court on this regard I am sure Barclays Bank and its DSA's will harass people with their sales calls.

Unwanted phone calls!
I am getting Unsolicited Phone calls from a DST called Tag Financial Services which works for Barclays Bank. I really don't know how Barclays has become so useless by giving a DST to such a stupid company like TAG. I keep getting at least 3 calls from the same number +918040604888, the problem is they don't understand basic English as well, i have registered with DNC list of Barclays and still i keep getting calls. I am sick and tired of getting calls from Barclays. If anything can be done about this, i would be really happy and i am ready to pay if this can be stopped.

Barclays Bank -Worst Bank in the World
I would like to start out by saying that I am an account holder with Barclays Bank in London and in the process of cancelling. I can not believe a bank can operate under the disguise of serving the public when in fact the only interest they have is there own. I have personally been treated like garbarge by them. They have lied, deceived, misrepresented and have been totally negligent with regards to communication and handling of my funds. I have contacted a lawyer who was found scared of them because of their large law staff. What a shame when anyone is so big that no one wants to take them on. Well, it is our God given right to do so and the people can be heard. I will be heard if I have to make it my life's work to stop them from doing it to others. I am sure a class-action suit might wake them up just a little and we the people need to unify against them.

Barclays Bank goes much further in their attempts to undermind what is right and decent. They have supported dictator Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe with 1 billion in funds that was used militarily. In other words, Barclays has done their part in the genocide of innocent people and starving children to death. Running 100's of thousands of good people from their homes.

The word needs to go out on Barclays Bank and people need to cancel their accounts immediately. If I would of known what I now know I would of never had any dealing with such a monstrous bank. I have caught them in lies and incompentency and all they say is "sorry", then never do anything to make it right. A better name for them would be "Barclays Genocide Bank", proud supporters of regimes that murder and starve innocent people of the world. Now I know how just an account holder could be treated like garbage.

Whether you care how they treat their depositors or not. You must care what their true motives are with respect to human rights.

WE THE PEOPLE CAN BE HEARD!!!!!!!

PLEASE DO NOT HAVE ANY BUSINESS WITH BARCLAYS BANK LONDON OR ANY OTHER BARCLAYS.

YOU WILL MAKE IT A BETTER WORLD!!!!!!!

Harassing calls!
I have requested the people that I'm not interested & Don't want to have any loan but still they call & disturb me in working hours which is very Irritating. I have also told them to BLOCK my NUMBER from their DATABASE but NO such kind of activity done.

Very poor service!

Serious security problem, online banking and help desk suck!
I am very disillusioned with Barclays Bank and am currently having a problem with their online banking (which must have serious security problems) and their apparent inability to help me. It is the case that I travel a lot and am therefore not able to get to a bank very often, once a month max.

On 24Nov06 I tried to set up a new payment online. Having gone through the correct procedures I kept getting a failure message so I called the Bank. I was told that they had added a “new facility” that stopped me setting up new payments online to people I had not paid before. I made it very clear that I was not amused at being told that a ‘new facility’ was added that takes away functionality. A very interesting use of the English language.

They said that with a 5 digit telephone banking number, which I did not know, they could help. I said that this was unbelievable considering that to do online banking I already needed 4 pieces of information: my surname, my unique 8 digit number, a 5 digit pass number and to be able to quote two random letters from my secret word.

To solve this problem I was told that I must go into a bank and get a member of the bank staff to set up the payment and save the payment details so that I could then use them online in the future. The fact that I was out of the country and would not be able to do this for at least a month was, “none of their concern”.

So on 28Dec06 I finally got to an open bank and it took two (yes two) 'Personal Bankers' 15 minutes to realize that they did not know how to do this. They said that they could make a payment but could not save the details. Their work-around was to set up a standing order with a single payment. This way, they said, it would be possible to save the details. I told them that I did not want a standing order I wanted a one-off payment with the details saved.

Needless to say I had to accept their only offer.

Yes, you guessed it, when I used Barclays online banking I could see the standing order payment had been made but there were no details saved. So I am now stuck, again. Service? What service?

I have now made two email complaints via the Barclays Bank web site, one on 24Nov06 and the other on 8Jan07. Both have not been answered. It is also interesting to note that neither complaint was given a tracking number, either on the complaint page of the website or in the automated email response. Yes, I do have dated proof that I complained. I assume that this lack of a tracking number is their way of facilitating the loss of awkward complaints.

It should be noted that the automated email response says: "We aim to respond to emails received before 5pm on the same day. Otherwise we'll contact you before noon the next day."

Am I the only one who thinks that Barclays Bank has a serious security problem and that their online banking and help desk suck? Any comments...
