FRAUD TRANSACTIONS
BARCLAYS ARE THE WORST BANK EVER. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT OPENING OR STAYING WITH BARCLAYS.

Ive been a customer since the age of 10. Ive always thought them to be a decent bank. but in the last few months ive had the worst service ever.

I was out of the country for 6weeks in january, i was still employed and was still recieveing 8 weeks worth of wages as i was getting paid twice when i was on holiday. The day i land, i need to withdraw money as i needed to add call time to my phone. But my card got declined. So i check my balance and i see that i have 180, which is strange because i should have had £1200 in my account.

So i phone barclays customer service. And they told me that 200 was taken out due to a credit card bill. and the rest was taken out due to two transactions, one of the amounts was for £400 to aa insurance, another is £200 for some other housing association. They are not mine as i live with parents and i dont have a car.

So they reported it and told me that they are going to investigate it and then refund me the money after the investugation. I would need to fill out the forms, and that it would take an average of a month to return my money, they would issue me with a new card. So a week later i withdraw some money and notice then i see my account balance had £900. i asked a friend who was currently working for a bank some advice and he says. It waqs probably an error due to the fact that they gave it back so soon. so i didnt do anything about it.

A month later, it happens again, apart from the fact that the transaction for aa was the same and the 200 was for british gas. i asked how could this be as i got a new card. so they told me, i would need to fill out the form otherwise they will take the money out of my bank again this will keep on happening. at the time i was in my branch ringing off of the customer phone, my personal banker said, bring it in to us, and we will fax it on your behalf, it will get there soon. So i fill out my forms, there were two papers to the form, but the last paper only has three lines of writing. I return the form back to the branch who faxes it for me.

Now today i check my balance. I have £130 pounds at 9.00 am. i go to work, go on my break, and my card gets declined. I check mybalance, i have nil to withdraw. I ring up barclays to be told they have redebittied the transactions made on my account. so my account is now £400 pounds overdrawn I asked why? because i didnt send all the paperwork, i told them it was faxed on my behalf, they said they recieved one page of the paperwork and not two. I said well i didnt fax it, a lady at my branch did. They said without the paper work they couldnt process the investigation and took the money for the payments.

I argued with them for a good hour explaining, my situation in the end speaking to four people who all told me the same thing. They cant do anything unless they have the full paperwork. They accept it wasnt my fault, but i explained to them, so if it isnt my fault why do i have to suffer for? i remember the contents of the page that is missing, and all it had was three lines of terms and conditions, there was nothing there that i had to fill out. So they said they will be sending me a new form, and in the mean time they cannot redebit my account with my money. I said so the paperwork will not reach me until tuesdday (due to the fact that its the royal wedding and we have bank holiday on monday) and then i will have to fill the form, fax it to u again, wait until you process it and complete your investigation and then debit my account, while i recieve bank charges, and i have no money until that day, which they cant put a date on? What am i going to do all that time??? They all said there is nothing they can do.

I feel absolutely disgusted by this level of service. The fact that there security is appalling, how can they let such transactions go through after i have reported them to be fraudulent, just because i didnt take it further initially doesnt mean it cant be declined. and now because of someone else's negligience and incompetence im having to suffer by having no money what so ever to survive on. I explained my situation and said what am i going to do to pay bills, there is nothing they can do. they are quick to take my money but not quick to give it back. So i have to suffer with late charges on my bills, plus interest.

The man who i spoke to was saying, i have logged a call to the complaints department they will ring you later, i said is there a chance the person i will be speaking to will give me my money back, he said no so i said YOU CAN F*CK OFF WITH YOUR CALL BACK THEN and hung up the phone.

Ive been a customer since the age of ten, ive never had any bank charges and regularly promoted barclays to friends and familys who asked me how barclays was. as soon as i get my money back, i will withdraw it all and close my account. Until then, i will be getting paid and as my account is overdrawn and i will not be getting paid until another 13days, i wil be quickly making a bank account in another bank and shall be changing my account details for my wages.

PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE BARCLAYS AS YOUR BANK. THEY WILL BLEED YOU DRY.

Late payment-charging more interest
Because I was late on a payment, they sent me a letter that since this happened, I have triggered the Penalty APRS of 25.24 on any purchases after today. I haven't used the card in almost a year. It was a joke when I got it. AIRTRAN litereally attacked me in the isle of the airports and on the plane to get this card. They said we would get a free round trip ticket. Still haven't received the free tickets. I will never Barclays again.

Juniper Mastercard
Juniper Mastercard cheated me out of $160 in cashback rewards. For 6 months, I tried to resolve the problem with their INCOMPETENT Customer Service department. They will transfer you from area to area but no one can make a decision. In the end they wanted to charge me for their help. I cancelled my Visa and Mastercard and have never been happier. The four years I spent with Juniper was filled with overcharges and problems. AVOID Juniper at all costs.

Looks like they are stealing peoples money
I have taken credit card of Barclays. I used my card for the payment of mobile bill of Rs. 2900. Within the due date I payed 2800 and because of the executive submitting late in the office i was charged 3400 something for late payement.

Later after 6 months with the total interest it was 4000 something. I was told to pay 1000 Rs and they will reverse back my interest rate applied on my card. Even after paying 1000 Rs they gave a call 3 months later i.e. on March saying that you need to pay 300 Rs more to stable your account. I said no problem and I paid it. After 1 month later I again got a call saying that please pay 100 Rs now and you will get full and final settlement on your interest rate inspite of my principle amount being 0 Rs. I paid that and now after 1 month back I am again getting call saying that there was some technical problems and you need to pay 250 Rs more. What the hell is going on do i need to pay regularly or what ???. Yesterday I got a call saying that your settlement letter has been dispatched and now today they are saying please the rest amount.

Identity Checks
I have a student i-bank account in Barclays. I am a female international student. Every time I do any bank transaction or for that matter even speak to the customer care executives, they ask me for my passport. I was even turned away once for not having carried one with me. I feel so insulted every time this happens.

What is it? Am I a terrorist to them? or is a transaction of £50-£500 a matter of national security? Is this a rule? Must I continue keeping mum over it?

unethical credit card company
Paid offJuniper credit card; went to check balance was at zero a couple of weeks later and found they had put on additional finance charges. Called and spoke to customer service agent who barely spoke English. He said it was a charge imposed on them from the bank that made my payoff. Called that bank to find that was not true. Wrote emails and got more incorrect answers and no answer on the last email I sent. Called corporate office and got a song and dance over the charges imposed. Paid the 99.00 because I knew they would just be thrilled to keep getting more of my money by assessing late charges. Paid the #@%$ interest they wanted and then called to cancel my card. They couldn't even do that without transferring me around to more Indian accented whatevers that I couldn't understand and they kept at me to stay with Juniper. So, I even had a hard time dealing with them to cancel my card! Stay far far away from this scamming credit card.

Awful bank
August 2008 i was apparently sent a letter from barclays that was offering me a reserve tank of £150 pounds, This letter was not an offer though, It was a letter telling me that i have been signed up for this? How ever Barclays also said that if i was not interested then i should send back this letter, I did not recieve this letter! I got this information from a lady at Barclays when i contacted them recently.

Earlier on in the year 2008 i phoned barclays and asked for a extension on my overdraft witch was declined. So once my bank started to let me take an extra £150 pounds out i thought my overdraft had gone through. How ever not to my knowledge this was infact a reserve tank witch every time i went in to this i was charged £30.

So Every week from august 2008 i have been bieng charged £30 a week with out actually noticing this until the end of april when barclays have decided to actually take the payments on a monthly basis all in one lump sum!

How can a company as big as barclays mislead there customers in such a way? I had no idea what they had signed me up for as this was not visible? They did not offer it to me they just signed me up for this?

Lost credit
I paid in £800 cash on the 6th of April to transfer £749 to a university in America. 3 days later, the transfer had gone though but there was no record of the £800 I paid in. As the bloke behind the counter only gave me on receipt (i found out later that was for the transfer but not the deposit), Barclays refused to investigate any further. When i repeatedly requested that the cctv footage be reviewed to show me hading money over to him, they refused. After 8 days and persistent complaints, they came back to me to say the cctv wasn't working on the day i went in so there is nothing to review. That was the extent of their investigation and they weren't going to do anymore.

One month later, I haven't had anyone come back to me from Barclays and the only time i hear anything is when i ring up. I wrote in on the 20th of April and didn't hear anything back. When i followed up with a phone call today, 8th May 2009, they told me they hadn't received anything by way of a letter from me and they haven't dealth with the matter any further.

i'm still outstanding £800 which Barclays bank is refusing to investigate and refund and they still have the nerve to charge me for April and May, £14 a month account fee even though i haven't been able to use my account since the 6th of April.

When i confronted the cashier in question, David Tunney, he claimed to remember me coming in and him serving me. Interestingly enough, he doesn't remmeber taking £800 off me. I have been back since and now he refuses to talk to me.

What is also baffling is that i don't have an overdraft facility with that account. On the day in question, i had a balance of £320 in my account and had i not paid in £800, how was a transaction of £749 processed. It should have been declined like all other transactions when you have insufficient funds to clear it. Again, Barclays have not answered that despite my repeated questioning it.

Waste of time
In February 2009 following failings in the Barclaycard telephone system I was unable to register my new card valid from March 1st 2009 I cut up the card, returned it to Barclaycard and closed the account. Final payment on the existing card was due and paid in February. My March statement from them confirms that the balance is zero.

Since February I have received at intervals four text message stating that I owe money to Barclaycard and failure to pay will result in my credit rating being affected. I have at my own expense wriiten letters, telephoned and sent faxes to stop this nuisance, a totla of seven transactions In view of my time and money wasted I asked Barclaycard for a payment fo £20 for each transaction, they have refused.

Barclaycard have refused to take the matter further and not even offered an apology. These text messages are libellous, can be seen by any member of my family should they happen to pick up my telephone.

This is clearly a breach of confidential information that even if it was correct should not be transmitted in this manner.
