In April 2011, I purchased some furntiure w/ delivery & setup- daybed & 6 dining room chairs. I paid with a cc. The items were ordered & would be available in 2-3 weeks and could be delevered, which I paid for at the time of purchase. The items were in within the time frame promised, actually probably a bit earlier, the store called & left a msg to call to arrange pickup. I called & asked for a Saturday early morning delivery. I spoke with Ken the mgr - he informed me that they do not deliver on Saturday's. I explained to Ken that he was the salesperson of my order & neglected to tell me of his delivery policies. I asked if he would reconsider, given his ommission, and that I work full-time drung the week & would not be available to present for the delivery. He again told me no that it was store policy for week day deliveries only & that it would cost him overtime to have his staff make the Sat. delivery for me. He than said he would refund my purchase. I did not want a refund - it is now 2 weeks after the purchase, which I spent my time already picking out the items. I did not feel I should have to spend another day to order furniture, find comparable prices & wait another 2-3 weeks for delivery. I again asked if he would admit it was his mistake for omitting the delivery policy rules to me and to make it right to please deliver & setup as I had already paid for those items. He then asked if I expected hime to deliver on Sundays too. I was caught off guard by this comment-not knowing what he meant. I babbled no, but the minute I said it I realized the store is open 7 days a week, why wouldn't I have expected a Saturday delivery? So, again I asked for his admission to his mistake, which he never apologized for, and asked for his reconsideration of a Saturdayy delivery. He finally blurted out - fine we'll deliver Sat. but just drop off no setup. Ignorantly I said yes & left it at that.
Several days went by & I decided to call Ken again to request that the setup be included as I had paid for. Ken sighed vehemently & asked again if I wanted a refund. Again I said no, I would like him to deliver on Saturday as begrudgingly promised and that setup was paid for & should be included. Again, no admission of any kind, and no apology was given. Ken said delivery would be first thing Saturday morning - delevery was actually at 1:20 pm - Ken himself & another gentleman unloaded & set up the items. I was still never given an apology. As you may suspect I will never do business with the company again. All I want is an apology for his error & that to rectify it he was willing to make an exception & deliver Saturday to make it right. It's a shame - most of the merchandise is pretty good & reasonably priced. I'm very sad.
