Dishonest business practice
I also had an all too familiar experience with Bari Furniture. I bought a sectional couch on 1/3/11. Three damaged couches later and countless phone calls to them; they just processed the refund (7/7/11). I submitted my experience to the Better Business Bureau and started looking at other customer feedbacks on the web trying to understand if my experience was as a rare occurrance as Bari was representing it to be. Turns out not to be the case.
Since I've been having to deal with this company for so long, I started to recognize some of the satisfied customer testimonials as BARI EMPLOYEES...specifically Mecca F. (works at Bari Furniture) and Terry U. (Bari's IT manager). They posted comments as satisfied customers on yahoo answers. I'm sure that there are other false testimonials out there. It is sad commentary at the lack of ethics of those individuals and Bari Furniture for allowing that type of deception.

Poor Customer Servie
I ordered a full bedroom suite from Bari Furniture upon calling their office on Jan 19, 2010. I waited about 6 months before receiving the first shipment only to find that one piece was damaged. I supplied Bari with pictures and they agreed to send another dresser. They did the following October and February (13 months later) only to find they were both damaged in shipping. The company 17 months later is offering to refund the dresser, but I now have 5 pieces of the bedroom suite and no dresser. This company does not follow up on their orders nor do they keep in contact with their customers. Had I not made contact with them I believe they would still not be calling me. I am extremely hesitant because of one bad egg to ever order off the internet items of this price again! I should have disputed the charge on my Credit Card 90 days after the shipment and cancelled the order. But they insisted it would be delivered and they were a company of their word! HA!

Poor Quality and Customer Service
Ordered sofa and love seat and it took about 7 weeks to get it. Had problems with delivery. Within 10 months of purchase the leather had lost most of it's color in the spots where we sit and the cushions were completely worn out. Contacted Bari and they said they would have someone come out and look at it. Man called and scheduled an appointment for about a week later and the called the day before the appointment and said he was sick and wouldn't be able to come and would call us back. Called back about 2 weeks later and said he wasn't going to be able to come and he would contact Bari and have them send someone else. We waited about a month and finally called Bari. They said they needed us to fax pictures of the furniture and then they said they would send someone else out. About a week later they came out and took more pictures and said they would talk with Bari and see what they wanted to do. About 2 weeks later they said that they wouldn't be able to repair the furniture it was no longer under warranty. Bari said the warranty started on the date of purchase not on the date it is delivered. They then wasted enough time for the warrranty to expire even though it was reported to them before the expiration. I wouldn't buy anything from them if they were the only company on the planet.

Bad Servicing
I ordered a six piece leather sectional sofa in October 2010. In late December I received 4 of the 6 pieces. Shipping company's receipt showed that only 4 were to be shipped. I called Bari to let them know 2 pieces were missing. Since then I've had to call at least a dozen times. I'm now told that I can expect the 2 pieces to be delivered sometime in March 2011, more than 5 months after the order was placed. I'm not holding my breath. Terrible customer service.

Bari Furniture Complaint Bari handled my problem with the shipping company in a very professional manor. The paid to redirect my shipment and got it to me with a new shipping company when the old one could not deliver to my home.

Awful service
It's been over six weeks since I placed my order, and when I called today they said everything has been backed up and they won't be getting my bedroom set from Ashley furniture for another 2 weeks, which means I won't have it until a week after that. In all it will be over two months in between purchase and receiving the item. Sales associate did not care at all, just said they never guaranteed a delivery date.

Damaged merchandise
Bought 2 large sofas and chair online. Both sofas were stacked for shipment. Freight carrier (YRC) drop ships only and does not unwrap shipment althought you are required to sign that merchandise was received in good condition and shrinkwrap was not damaged. It wsa not until after delivery that I was able to unwrap and realized the back of both sofas were damaged beyond repair and the wood trim on both soafas were cracked. There is so much damaged that I do not want to chance a replacement shipment and I do not want the damaged couches repaired since I paid almost 4k for new couches not damaged and repaired couches. Bari Furniture is not taking any responsibility although the couches were wrapped by their company for the freight carrier to deliver. It is their fault the merchandise was damaged. Bari Furniture claims it is up to the FREIGHT CARRIER to authorize a refund to my account for the damaged couches. I bought from Bari not their freight carrier. I will never buy anything from Bari or suggest anyone else attempt to buy anything. You can find the same merchandise at Ashley Furniture. Damage happens in life but the way I am treated as a customer with no response to my email claim to date after two weeks, I call Bari to find out what is happening and have been on hold a minimum of 10 to 20 minutes every time I call. No one cares and no one will direct me to the person in charge. Everyone at this company I have dealt with is completely worthless.

Bad Business Practice
Ordered 2 nightstands online 7/26 - at the time of purchase, nothing on website indicated the nightstands were on backorder. 4 days later, after my order still showed as "pending" online, I called Bari Furniture to ask what the status was. Person helping me said they had to get a supervisor. Supervisor said items were backordered until 12/09 and they couldn't leave the order as pending that long, so they would cancel it. Later that day, I discovered my credit card had been charged for the items, even though they were not in stock. Called Bari Furniture again to inquire as to why they charged my card for merchandise they couldn't ship, and sales person said "I'm sure you'll get a refund but I don't know anything about it because I'm not in accounting". Nice customer service, very professional. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it bad business practice to charge a consumer for something you can't deliver for 5 months? Won't be shopping with them again, very unimpressed with their service and business standards. Tip: train your salespeople to take more initiative and professionalism in dealing with customers instead of claiming stupid because its "not my job/department".

Bad service
Please beware of the India group recliner, I loved the style, however the recliner does not support your head in any reclining position...it is the design so they tell me. Now who in their right mind wants a recliner that dosen't support you head in any reclining position, it goes against the whole essence of the word "recliner."
In contacting Bari about the recliner, it seemed as though everything was my fault. I didn't do this and I didn't do that and I needed to scoot down in the recliner to use it... it was rediculous!
I payed over 2, 200.00 for a couch and recliner set and to return the furniture they wanted to deduct 650.00 from my refund!
I finily went through my credit card and received a full refund! Thank God!
