Discrimination/Unsanitary Conditions
I have had numerous issues with this office. Dr. Sosnin's medical assistant (I believe her name is Brenda). On my first visit she was very rude to me and looked at me in an ill expression on her face. My children had accompanied me to my appointment as well. My oldest daughter needed t use the restroom and it was very filthy and unsanitary. There was no toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap or anything to dry your hands with period. It was a total disaster and my child just decided to opt out of using the restroom altogether. When I was escorted to my examination room I was again amazed at the uncleanliness of the facility. The floor was dusty and the examination table was dirty and had n protective paper on it. I asked the assistant was it fine for me to sit down and she said that it was and to have a seat. I honestly felt rather uncomfortable sitting on an exam table as such without a protective barrier. On my next visit I was having chest discomfort and difficulty breathing. Therefore, Dr. Sosnin orderd and asthma breathing test. Afterward, he recommended I have a breathing treating by the means of a nebulizer machine. The same assistant walk into the room with the breathing equipment and then "accidentally" dropped the medicine dispenser cup onto the dirty floor. She then picked it up and entered the tubing and filled it with medicine oblivious. I did not realize this until later when I was holding it and there was a crack in the medicine cup and then I knew it was the same cup. My daughter had also noticed that she used the same cup and told me about it while I was getting my treatment. I thought she would get a clean cup but she did not. I was upset because that medicine is administered directly into the lungs and I feared I may get some form of infection. On my next visit I was given an ARES sleep study machine. I was to take it home with me and undergo a sleep study. I did not use it because the breathing cannula was recycled and used previously by anther patient. I took the machine back and waited two weeks for a new one. When I revisited two weeks later, I came in to get the machine and again had recycled equipment. I came in and spoke to the same assistant and she said it was the same equipment from last time. She really disrespected me this time instead of calling me "Mrs. My Last Name" she referred to me as "My First Name" and said "what is it "My First Name"? I was very upset because she talked to the other patients in a better manner and with respect. I knew this was used by an elderly patient because gray hair was on the headgear and pink nail polish clippings were on the sticky backings of the equipment. I had never used any equipment and my hair is not gray and these are supposed to be used only one time according to the manufacturer. She also questioned me on numerous occasions about my religion as did Dr. Sosnin. However, this assistant seemed to dislike me because I wear a headdress. She treated me as if I were beneath her and as I was not a human being but an animal.
