On July 20, 2009 I was using my Facebook FarmTown. One of the offers to receive extra coins was an offer to try Acai Boost Ultra, a weight loss product. On July 20, 2009 my credit card was billed $2.79 for shipping/handling. I have a copy of my credit card statement, along with the "confirmation page" from this offer.
"The confirmation number is 10311427. Your Acai Boos Ultra will arrive in 5-7 days. Please print this page for your records."
A few days later I received a call stating that my product should be arriving soon, and then they tried to get me to order more stuff, which I declined.
On August 28, 2009 just before 1:00 p.m. ET I located this confirmation sheet, and realized I had not yet received the product I was billed for. I entered the website address that printed on my confirmation page, and I was taken to their advertisement. When I attempted to close the tab, an online chat person named 'Jenny' popped up and said, WAIT! Take advantage now... blah, blah. So I thought I'd chat with her about this situation. It was NOT a real chat, it was a programmed chat. I say this because at no time were her responses related to my comments and questions. Finally a message popped up with an 800 number to call. So I called the number at 1:00 p.m. ET and a foreign man named Brian answered the phone. I gave him my complaint, and he seemed happy to help. When I gave him my confirmation number, he repeated it back to me. I said, "Yes, that's correct." He said they had no record of my order. He asked for my e-mail address - I gave it to him. He repeated it back to me. I said, "Yes, that's correct." He said they had no e-mail address like that on file. So I asked, "then how is it my credit card was charged???" He asked for what product - I pronounced it, he couldn't seem to understand, so I spelled each word for him. He put me on hold, came back to the line and replied, 'we do not support that product.'
furious, I asked him to provide the name and address of the company he worked for. He gave me Barry Folgers Inc., 314 E. Dania Beach Blvd., Suite #117, Dania Beach, FL 33004.
So I repeated the entire experience to him, and once finished, I said I was going to report them to the US federal authorities for fraud. And then I hung up.
