Hate them
From day one I have been lied to by the company bathfitters. I have worked for them for 3 months and get lied to at least once a week. The hours suck and my boss needs to get her head out her ***. The other employees constantly call off so am always being called in. I actually follow the rules but I am the only one. We get a fifteen minute break per 8 hours not that you work a 8 hour shift. usually just 3 hours. I take a bus and my boss knows that yet she schedules me for night shifts. She also knows I cant work saturdays and schedules me then.

Scammed single mother with handicapped child
BathFitters SUCK and they are criminal. They recently scammed my sister a young mother with a handicapped child. Told her the child was getting sick from mold and charged her an outrageous price to clean it up. When she tried to get out of contract they threaten to sue her and charge her full price without doing any of the work. Basically stealing money out of a child's livelihood. Please, please do not use them. They will say anything to get you to sign their contracts. I can't believe businesses today can get away with scamming people the way they do.

Bad treatment
As a former employee, it was the worst experience of my life. Good luck to new employees. They change every 3-12 months, whether you're good or not. The only ones who stay are the mokena bunch. This is a horrible company!!! The product is cheap and not installed properly most of the time. I have to be honest (not angry).

Stay away
Stay away from the Pittsburgh Bathfitters, The worst in Customer Service they came out looked at the bathroom, Never gave a set price, We never picked out a date or Time, Never looked at products or colors, or styles they did however need a 1500$ deposit and mysteriously did not get back to us after repeated calls until 7 days later just enough time to cover the 3 day rescission period, 2 years No Work done, Calls Ignored, No Return of Deposit, Don't let it happen to you. What kind of company has such little integrity that they look to be paid by word games instead of the work they they are supposed to be in business to do. BEWARE.

Very poor customer service
I was dissatisfied with the service at my local waukesha, wi branch of bathfitters. I asked to speak to mgr, situation was forwarded to the regional manager, Darren Smith, who was in the office at the time of my call. He could not help me with my issue or would not. I then asked for the corporate phone number so I could go up the chain of command. He repeatedly refused to give me the phone number and basically told me all calls would be routed directly back to him and that was that. DUH! If your title is regional manager, you obviously have a superior... I went on line, like anyone else would and got the info I needed to call the corporate office. No, my issue was not resolved, Bathfitters is extremely unhelpful once they have your money, unless you want to give them more.
But, my issue with them is they VERY poor Customer service I received. As a professional in the field I found it very disconcerting that someone would refuse a simple request for corporate information. I obviously wanted to make a complaint, for the simple fact that it makes the entire industry look bad when you run into people/outfits like this...
My advice to Home owners is to really research and get references. Ask for both satisfied and dissatisfied references and then let the evidence stand on its own. If they are truly a good company they will not have an issue.

non-disclosure
I actually love and enjoy my installed shower. However, I feel like I'm a slave to it. I was never told that I would have to squeegee it everytime the shower was used in order for my warranty to be valid. Some days I don't mind, but it is definitely a chore. Sometimes I am running late for work and don't want to take the time to do it. I think I should have been informed of this small detail when I went to the showroom, or when the salesman came to my home. NO - I wasn't told until it was completely installed. I was informed of this by the technician who installed it. I'm tired of having to clean my shower everyday! Anyone else feel this way? Maybe we can start a class action suit.

Yellow/green spots on ceiling
This not a complaint. I just need advise because the ceiling on my bathfitter is growing a greenish, yellowish film on the ceiling of my new bathfitter. I would like to know what would cause this, and how I can prevent it in the future. I need to know how to get rid of it without damaging the coating on the ceiling. Please respond asap. I don't want more of this subtance occuring.

Avoid tub liners
I just had my tub/surround replaced by a real, old-fashioned local plumber. He used a real tub, Americast, and swanstone surrond: (It's 1/4 corian. solid as a rock).
I love it.
I priced 3 liner companies and they came out either very close in price or alot more. I was stunned.
The sales pitch is astounding, and all 3 told me how bad the other 2 were. I decided to believe all 3 of them and get a regular replacement and I'm glad I did.
My plumber makes alot of money tearing out the cheap liners. They bubble and crack and leak. Don't do it.
The only drawback is that it does take 3 days to replace with real materials. But there's no guarantee that a liner company will actually do it in one day, anyway.
Think of it this way: By the time you discover they can't do it in one day, what are you going to do about it? They've already torn apart your old tub and it's unusable. So, are you going to take them to court?
Skip the liners and get a real americast tub and swanstone surround.
