On 30/03/2011, I tried the battery which Toyota confirmed dead is working in good condition and I was really surprised as well as cheated. I drove all the way to Johor and came back to Klang with the dead battery. On 31/03/2011 at 11.00am, i went back to Sungai Rasa Toyota Service Centre to claim my money back. The Service advisor whom handles my issue on the 8/02/2011, refused to see me and kept on saying NCCC will handle this issue. I told him that i want to see you MCSO Mr.Luye and he replied me he is in the meeting. I waited almost 21/2 hour whereas he is purposely delaying. While waiting i called Toyota HQ and spoke to Mr. Tam Kam Lay (Area Manager) explaining my issue to me and he advise me that he will get back to me on the next day 01/4/2011. At about 1.30pm Mr.Luye called me and we had chat on my issue and he refuses to claim my money back and kept on saying their legal advisor will deal with NCCC. I asked him how come you can cheat me whereas the battery is in good condition and I told him that I have driven the car with the battery. He kept on saying that something like ISO thingy which I don’t understand. He then told me to do whatever you want but I won’t claim the money back. I just felt really upset and cheated. Before leaving the place I told him to check my battery level. At first he said ok then later he said tomorrow he will give an answer whether or not to claim my money back and refuse to check battery as it beyond their hand. My doubt here is “I bought my car from Toyota and why is it beyond their hand. Furthermore I still have my warranty period”. So I left the centre.
On 01/04/2011 at 12.30pm, I went to Subang Jaya Toyota Service Centre to check my battery level and got a slip from them saying the battery is in good condition and the reading was 12.90V not 0.0V. I took the reading slip and went to UMW Toyota SDN.BHD Head Quarters located at Shah Alam to see Mr. Tam Kam Lay at around 2.00pm. At the reception I filled a complaint form which is the SOP for the company. The Mr. Tam Kam Lay; Mr.Luye and Mr.Azmi (not sure with the name as the person never clearly introduce himself). I showed all the documents including the letter which Mr.Luye replied to NCCC and stating that I have the proof that Sungai Rasah Toyota service center has cheated me. But Mr. Azmi replied to me that it’s beyond their control and kept on saying that my battery previously dead and we can’t do anything about it. I told him ‘look I have the reading as well as the battery and what else you need’. He then replied when you tested the battery, I replied on the 30/03/2011 and drove my car to Johor and came back. He then said they don’t have a record on their Sungai Rash center from the period of 10/02/2011 till 30/03/2011 on testing the battery back. I told him that your Sungai Rasah Service Center claims that my battery is already dead and why should I need to bring it back there! Their final decision is no and my money cannot be refunded. And also said you can do whatever you want. Here I feel cheated…..I will send all the attachments when needed by NCCC and I have all the proof saying that Sungai Rasah needs to refund my money back. From here I can see those people are covering their mistakes by giving all kind of excuses to me as a customer. I hoping to get my rights here as a customer.
