Terrible experience
I purchased a pre construction condo from BAY View Grand(BVG) Developers in Puerto Vallarta Mexico over 2 years ago. About 1 year ago BVG has been sued by the Hotel Association in Puerto Vallarta for obtaining an illegal building permit and building a High Rise Condo complex that went against the building codes. BVG payed off the mayor of puerto Vallarta and he has since left mexico to escape any criminal charges. Mean while, my condo complex has been halted and no one from BVG will return my emails or calls to at least discuss the situation with me. I have also found out that BVG is having problems with their newest development in Cancun called 'Grand Island' This project is on hold and they are being sued once again for obtaining an illegal building permit. This time they are building on protected wet lands. I originally purchased a condo from BVG because their condos were beautiful, in great locations and with nice amenities. They sell them selves as the largest developer in Mexico and that they should be trusted by all investors/buyers; especially the North American Market. Unfortunately the whole experience has been a nightmare and I fear I might have lost my entire investment. I do not recommend any potential buyer/investor looking in Mexico to invest in an ocean view condo with BVG. They also have a new area going up in Baja Mexico and it is getting a lot of press for being the new development in that area; please be very careful if you are considering BVG.
