Cancellation
I completed an online Insurance quote for my van with Go Compare, and Be Wiser was the cheapest insurer at £1250, I CLEARLY stated in my online information that i had ZERO No Claims Bonus in conjunction with the quote i was requesting. I promptly paid £281 pounds deposit via my credit card and was placed on cover, all was well until one week later i received a phone call which was stating Be Wiser needed to confirm my details. They asked me to provide proof of NCB on any recent policies i had held, i told the girl that i had clearly stated i had NO NO CLAIMS BONUS and had said so on the information i provided on the online quote, she then said to me that i had stated that i had had no accidents or claims in the last 5 years, which means to them they ASSUME therefore i can provide proof of some form of NCB whether i wish to use it on this policy or not, so based on that assumption they quoted me £1250 for my policy. When i said to this girl that i had no NCB of my own because i had been driving under the insurance of my previous employers Traders policy for the past 7 years and did not have an insurance policy of my own, she said to me that even though she could see on my details that i had put zero NCB they were going to increase my policy payment by a further £1100 pounds for having no NCB! In summary, Be Wiser took my deposit knowing i had declared zero NCB, then left it a week before coming on the phone demanding another grand because i have no NCB!, needless to say i refused and am now waiting for a refund of £248 of the original £281 pounds deposit i paid them just last week. In the meantime i have had to shell out another £300 pounds deposit to a more reputable firm today to remain insured, and it remains to be seen how quickly Be Wiser refund my money. It appears these lower end insurance companies will do all they can to get peoples deposits, then find an excuse to load the policies a few days later in the hope that some people will think its to much hassle to cancel and find someone more reputable, and just pay more, AVOID!

cancelled policy
Avoid, another cancelled policy,
Having sent as requested my no claims details, they then asked for all name drivers, driver licence both copies,
due to this being a works van, was unable to supply this new info in the requested 7 DAYS
so they cancelled the policy taking 50% of the total cost of insurance,
Keep away and AVOID

Cancelled Policy
I took out an insurance policy with Be Wiser Insurance on the 21st January 2011. They gave me a quote of £1129.62 for the year which was the cheapest I had found, so I took the policy and made payment. I had travel plans to go abroad for a month and flew out on the 24th January 2011 and returned on the 24th February 2011. The reason for the policy being so cheap is that they agreed to offer me a 6 years claim free driving discount on the condition that I would provide the necessary documents as proof of my previous clean driving. Unfortunately I had been out of the country for one month, so they in turn have cancelled the policy as apparently I have only 21 days to provide the no claims proof in writing to them. I have just spoken to their customer services team and they said that the policy could not be reinstated, and that they would have to begin again with a new quote. They gave me a new quote of £2400 for the same vehicle and driver details! Is this inflation? They also are only willing to refund £741.04 from the original £1129.62 payment. Apparently they keep 25% commission for themselves when they cancel a policy. So having enjoyed a nice relaxing holiday for a month, I now return to find out that my insurance has been cancelled, that to renew will be more than double my previous quote only a month ago, and that they will will also only refund 65% of my original payment. Thats quite extortionate really, considering they only provided cover for 21 days, and have charged me £388.58 for those 3 weeks! I think I will remain on my fathers policy as we only paid £450 for the year with the AA! Stick to big name companies and avoid the little companies if you don't want to be ripped off!

Be Wiser Insurance
BEWARE! Took out a policy in June 2010 for a 2005 Mercedes ML and the quote worked out to be around £1800. I agreed as I was in rush to get the green card and certificate so I could take car abroad. I decided to sell car in September (Sold on the 1st) and rang them up and they 'canceled' the policy but to find out that the next day they had took that months payments as well. I rang them up on several occasions and they said that they would return the payments inc. the deposit of £400 I made at the beginning but it's been 3 months and I've still not received any payments back and I'm tired and sick of ringing them up although the last time I did which was back around the 4th November the lady said that she couldn't do anything and hung up on me! I WOULD HIGHLY ADVICE THAT PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM BE WISER AS THEY ARE ONLY AFTER YOUR MONEY AND DON'T KEEP TO THEIR PROMISES!

Car & Van Insurance
BE WISER don't take out vehicle insurance with Be Wiser Insurance. July 2010 took out car insurance which was straight forward and a good price. As I was thinking of changing my vehicle I asked if there would be an admin charge to change insurance and was told no, also asked if I could transfer my no claims bonus from a car to a van and was told yes. When I got a quote from them for the new vehicle the price was ok and I transferred over the policy. The reason the price was so good was when the policy arrived they had insured me for a completely different vehicle even though I had given them the full details and there were alot of other errors in the policy. There was an admin charge for changing and I couldn't transfer my no claims to the company they had quoted.
After several phone calls and raising a formal written complaint I was told there was a "training issue" and also the DVLA database had the incorrect details for my vehicle which I find hard to believe. They refunded part of my money but I had to chase them again for the remaining monies owing to me.

Refusing to pay claim voiding my insurance
I took out my car insurance last September 09 with Bewiser insurance. I advised them that I could not complete details on line as my particular car didnt show, I have a BMW SMG M3 ac schnitzer. They didnt know what a ac Schnitzer was so I explained that they modify cars all mine had was alloy wheels and a tail pipe no mechanical or body modifications. I had an accident 18th July 2009 no other car I hit a slippery patch of diesel on road and it threw me into the curb and hedge damaging the rear sub frame and other parts. Firstly they offered me £12, 500 for the car I refused this as I said that it was worth more as the car was a schnitzer and I felt it was worth more. They then came back to me and said that the underwriter had not been told of the modifications to the car, however I knwo for a fact they were told as I read of the full description of the car when I bought it to the insurance company and they accepted that I valued it at £19k. They wrote my car off cat D so I lot the right to a hire car. They then have taken until todays date to tell me they are voiding my insurance and I will get nothing. The underwriter told me that Bewiser gave them only one taped mesasage of my asking about insurance they say I never mentioned wheels however they didnt say I did not mention it was an ac schnitzer however I had to call them back with details of the car a second time explaining the detail of my car and yet they still gave me the quote and accepted it now they have to pay out they are saying they did not know about wheels. The quite they gave me origionally was for an M3 smg £12, 500 this would be no modifications, however the point here is that they are not wishing to pay me more for a car I know I gave them full information on because the representative of bewiser was very interested to hear about the car so now I feel they are withholding this second conversation because they have not sent full details to the underwriter. I have never made a claim I have full no claims bonus and would have had no reason at all to withhold such information why would I. I feel totally let down by all of this I have never ever withheld information and the car meant too much to me to mess up any insurance I even swore on my childrens lives that I had told them. I am at my wits end I suppied them with information at inset on insurance and I have answered all their questions this seems so unfair really unfair if you can help me in anyway I would really apprecaite it. There are no photos of damage the car looks perfect it is all underneath the car and it is held at a reapriers in M Keynes at this present time.
Thanking you
