Overbilling with Customer serivce scam
So far I am convince that Bell Mobility Practices fraudulent customer service Techniques. The customer is inadvertenly mislead that they will be receiving the cheapest plan, which is not case, the bill always ends up skyrocketing and they get away with it because it is not regulated by the govt. If it was any other business, they would be forced to credit the customer for there mistake and have policies that correct the problem, not continuaoly guage the customer. I have been guaged more each time I dealt with customer service for a better deal, only to find new charges and that customer service did not listen to any of my needs, especually after telling them my phone habits with my history right infront of them, for not providing quality service of there product promised. Bell Price guages customers through customer service mistakes and get away with it. To me this is legalized fraud.

Overcharging
One month ago (Nov. 09) I had Bell integrate a texting plan they told me about for $10. I just received the bill, the plan is now for$12, and no longer covers texting. Not only did they overcharge for that they charged me extra for texting, which was what I was looking for in the first place. They did not notify me that the plan changed. For 74 minutes of calls and 23 texts, my bill is $71! Luckily my contract is up and I'm cancelling it -- they didn't try to do anything to get me to stay. Incredible!

False Advertisment
I just got a cell phone through Bell on the 6th of November 2009. I downloaded a song on my laptop to be uploaded to my phone last night (November 11th 2009). I got the song from the bell website, it said that the song would cost me $3.50. I wake up this morning (November 12th, 2009), to find that it had charged me over $9.00 for the song. I find this is false adverstisment.

Stopped service and still being billed
I texted stop to the 88000 AND 84040 and they were still sending me the trivia questions and charging me for them when the service was suppose to stopped. It was in August or maybe a little later that I asked this to stop, but the service was still being charged to my phone. As of 11/02/2009 they took $12.oo in charges that were not suppose to charged to my phone. I would like to get this money credited back.

unknown numbers
I have been a Bell home phone user for at least 26 years. I have a Rogers cell phone. I personally have never had any trouble with them. However, when walking in the mall with my son around Christmas time a year ago he talked me into getting a cell phone that was advertised as a Christmas bonus price. I thought to myself why not it’s Bell. My son was asked to make up his own cell phone number. Well...that same night my son was getting hockey scores of the Toronto Maple Leaf games. I called Bell to express my concern. I was told they had fixed the problem. Well...They did not! Each time the Toronto Maple Leaf played win or loose, my son will receive the score. When I received my bill I realized that I was being charge for each game played. Throughout the year I have had to call Bell and ask them to delete the charges which they did. The last time I called I was told that my son probably has an msn or hotmail account and signed up to a company and requested to receive the scores. First, they fail to realize that we began receiving the scores right when we got home. And secondly, (nothing against the Maple Leaf’s) but if my son was to sign up for such a service it would have been for basket ball.
Now to think that was enough...Just two months ago my cell phone bill was at 389.oo. I almost freaked! Our bill has never been over 50 dollars. I took a closer look at the bill and it looks as though some of the numbers are repeated. Some of the numbers my son and I didn't even recognize. There were also cities on there that we would never call. Of course when I called Bell the reply was if it is on the bill I am responsible for it. I requested that they investigate this further and the reply was NO can’t do. I spoke to the so called supervisor and was given pretty much the same response. Anyway, I kept my son's cell phone and did not give it to him till after 6:00 when the calls are free. Now isn't it funny that my next bill stated we went over our 200 day time minutes by 60 minutes. This month I increased my son's text messaging to a very large amount. He is not to make any calls till 6:15. And, I am going to have his number changed. Now I will sit and wait. I guess I am hoping to gather some kind of evidence. By the way we called back some of the numbers and got a message that the numbers cannot be redialled or that the number was out of service or it just continues to ring. Having this problem is an inconvenient but what else can I do. I am so-so! upset with Bell that I am strongly thinking of going to Rogers or elsewhere for home phone service.
I just had to share my experience.
I cannot remember the name of the cell phone, will post later.

Excessive Data and Roaming Charges
I visited the States in the summer over a 3 day period. I have an HTC Touch phone that does not require me to have a data plan in Canada in order to use this feature. I was shocked to see my bill the next month with over $450 of data charges, and $100 in roaming charges. This is for a trip that lasted 3 days
I phoned customer service a number of times over the next month, hoping to get a reasonable customer service representative on the phone
Essentially I was told that I needed to have a data plan, and because I didn't have one, I was charged an outrageous rate per data. They said I should have called them in advance to inquire about the cost of data in the US before I left the country. Well, I didn't think of this, because I don't pay for data with my phone in Canada.
I asked what customer service could do to help me out, such as give me a rate based on an existing data plan. They all but laughed in my face. I asked what it would cost to cancel my contract and they said $360
I find this situation completely outrageous. The customer service agents were arrogant, rude, blamed me the customer for my ignorance and were happy to just have me cancel my plan over this. Nice customer service
Never again

BILL
Unbelieveable service. Attempted to reduce my service, to save money in tight times. 2 months later, I am told I have a "data contract" and as a result I was dinged more than 2x what I tried to save, and I didnt even have or use the service. The only way I could do this is online. These people are a trap. I cant afford a lawyer to translate the signed contract, an as crafty as they are, I got stung by the unforseen trap. ENOUGH of these EVIL corporations. I am now at war with ANY public company which is designed to pay the shareholder and in turn RIP YOU OFF. Now I am pulling the plug on them, we'll see what happens.

Warranty Issues & more
Months ago (March), I brought my HTC Touch in for repair at a Bell store. I have an extended warantee, and I was quickly told that the phone would be returned for repair (because it was outside the 1 year policy). 2 days later i received a call and a refurb phone had come in to the store for pick up. The refurb phone was still locked to another account holder and I left the store with the loaner phone. A couple of days later, a new phone came in. I once again went in to pick it up, the new phone would not turn on. After switching my number back and forth with their loaner phones, my account was frozen and inactive for 24 hours and after getting fed up of waiting, I called customer service myself. within 5 minutes the phone was working again. After returning from a trip outside the country, and without using my phone for 3 months, I recieve a voicemail telling me that I will be charged 299.99 for the repair due to water damage. I was unaware that these charges occured as I was already given a new phone - I assumed they had already checked the previous one. I called technical support looking for further information or proof of this incident - who knows if the phone had been tampered with after I left it at a Bell store? They tell me they will write a letter on my behalf. I'm offended at the lack of customer care and feel violated to what I assumed to be their warranty policy. I would much rather return the refurbished HTC Touch than pay for a new one.
The lack of information given to me by Bell Customer Service leaves me frustrated at the lack of service given. Instead, I was asked to confirm my identity several times during the phone call and further, once being hung up on and calling back - told that the first call had never occurred. Having been a bell customer for over 4 years, I'm insulted at this treatment.
I'm not interested in paying the 399.99 (upped from the 299.99 in the voicemail left by a bell representative) cited from a customer service agent. I'm offended that this type of treatment, and inability to gage this circumstance beforehand occurs to their loyal customers (even after paying for the warranty!!)
alas, after complaining to customer service and technical support, I am told that I will be receiving a call from a different representative within 72 hours. I will be awaiting said call, especially to see if they decide to call at all.

Billing
First off, this is not the first "screw-up" of Bell's on me but I am a little "over the top" on this one so here I am.
It has got to a point where Bell (all services) mess up so much you throw up your hands and live with it.
This matter involves there cell phone catagory. Called again today (second month in a row) about over charges on my cell phone. I pay a fee for unlimited texting which I applied 3 months a go. Not only are they billing me for the unlimited texting they are billing me for the texts!! Roughly $100+ last month and again this month, above my normal fee's. This is after I thought I had straightened it out with them last month.
This is a huge company that continues to run like this over and over.
This past call this morning for over charging me again left me on hold for over an hour. Called at 10:27 a.m., hung up at 11:34.
Soooo, can't get the bill right and continue to treat coustomers like crap with service.
I could go on for ever. If there is anyone reading this that has a phone number email or what ever for me to contact or can recommend anything that is serious (I don't need anymore jokes, Bell has been a laugh) please amail me.
That's the worst part of this. You never expect such a huge company to be so pathetic with their coustomers but yet I have no way of really making them pay in some way for again and again messing up. Some ignorant people I'm sure are paying these over stated bills and not knowing it. That is stealing. You know Bell will not refund the money. They are over billing hoping even a small number of people pay the inflated mark up. What's the worst that happens to them??? People like me call and have it adjusted to the right amount!! That's it!!
Bell has nothing to lose by over billing but lots to gain by stealing from their coustomers!! Like I said, very PATHETIC!!
[email protected] if you have an answer to how I can really nail these bas****s

Billing is a guessing game
My original contract of $45 per month for my basic cell phone package turned into $120 for my first bill. Barely used the phone, Bell rep told me they are billing me for 2 month first. So I paid the bill thinking the next one will be $45 or so, but second bill was $110 so I called and complaint, they said I had over usage, which I don't want even argue with them about. Fine, lets pay that one. After been a nice guy of paying about $130 average per month for a basic cell phone plan which I was barely on. I decided to switch to Rogers, Bell told me I need to pay them $400 to break my contract. So I asked to speak to their manager, who told me there is nothing they can do. But if I want to end my contract in the last 6 month, I can get out without penality. So I waited, and waited, in the very last month I called them to cancel, but they said now I own them $200 instead of $400. So I said fine what if I wait until the contract expires with Bell. I shut my phone off, and bought another one with Kodoos. And no surprise Bell billed me again. Crooks of Crooks, you been warned about Bell's business model.
