We put a deposit on a sofa January, 2008. We asked for a delivery date & only upon insisting the salesman put a date of April 08 on our sale receipt. We follow up each month for a more accurate date & were told to call back. March 08 we received a letter stating Bellachs was in bankruptcy & called the store & were told yes, but the order was placed & was given a santa rosa number, surprise we called that number & were told NO ORDERS HAVE BEEN PLACED SINCE OCTOBER 07. When I called the Santa Clara store they said, oh, well you are welcome to come to our showroom & purchase a sofa from our showroom. He didn't admit that he lied & said he could not offer a discount or even give us the $ we put down which was 50% or approx. $1400. We are thoroughly disgusted with this as we have worked hard to save for our new sofa & now have to save again. Luckily we are protesting with our credit card company & hopefully may get resolution. I have heard from other sources that this is not new. Bellachs has done this before in the past and this is nothing new. I only wish I would have investigated them before. I even pleaded with Michael Reynolds the owner & he threatened to sue me for harassment. Truly disposable behavior from an experience scam artist.
