TRAUMATIZING!!
First off, i'd like to refer to Sara C's comment about the hairstylists seeming "not so friendly.
If you go, just know this place is by booth rental, which means they have no one to answer to, which can be a bad thing...
I had my hair done twice by Amber Carmen. First off, she never returned my phone calls, she would only try to coordinate via text...Secondly, when I showed up to have my hair toned because it faded so much after one wash, I showed up at 4:47, which my "texted" appointment was 4:45, i waited and waited til 5:05 and i told the receptionist i'd be back, i went to get something to eat because i was feeling dizzy. Returned at 5:25 and Amber was already yelling at me as soon as she saw me. She said she wasn't going to dry my hair because she had a client coming in...okay, no biggie. So she then proceeded to take me to the shampoo bowl and basically tell me nothing was wrong with me hair, in a very rude tone. I asked if she could just soften where the bleach had been because it seemed drab after only one wash. When she came back she was looking at my phone and READING my conversation and proceeded to yell, all while in front of other clients and hairdressers "oh thats really great you are face booking about me because once i am done with your toning i'm never doing your hair again!!" Wow, i'm sorry, but last time I checked, I was allowed to be on my phone for whatever I wish, and I think its HIGHLY inappropriate that she was reading my phone!!! And, unlike her, although I was dissatisfied with my experience with her, I did not disrespect her or embarrass her in front of an entire salon. No sweat off my back, I had already made up my mind about not going back to someone who cannot even answer a phone call to communicate with there clients. THEN, she proceeded to tell me how RUDE i was, still in front of other people, saying because I made a light comment about her having big feet, that I was rude. First off, I apologize if i made a comment that may be a touchy subject to anyone. I wear a 9.5 and all my life people have made jokes/jabs/lighthearted comments about my shoe size and it never had bothered me...but i am sorry if that was offensive. Secondly, as an adult, she could have told me, when I made the comment, which, unlike her, WASN'T in front of anyone else, that it upset her and I would've apologized and probably tipped even more because I would've felt like jerk. But instead, she decides to play passive aggressive games and HUMILIATE ME in front of the entire salon!!! Thirdly, every time I had an appt with her, I would offer to bring grab her something from the coffee shop next door, as I normally do for my stylists. At that point I had to demand she take the toner out of my hair. I was afraid of what else she might do, and its disgusting that while i was basically prisoner to the shampoo bowl until she finished rinsing me, that she continued to berate me!!! And yell at me as I left the salon. This was a traumatizing experience, and with the economy as it is, I am willing to learn to love box color because my hard earned money is not worth going to bratty/immature hairstylists like her. Bottom line, extremely unprofessional and I hope no one else has to be humiliated in front of an entire salon like I was.
