It's a mistake to complain about the inappropriate behavior of staff at the bellevue ymca. The member is made to feel they are 'in the wrong' while the staff member does his best to disrupt this member's workouts.
bottom line - the bellevue ymca is not a gym where fitness and members come first.
After politely asking a teenage staff member to avoid vacuuming around the squat rack while doing 250-lb plus weight, that staff member refused 'i'm doing my job' he responded. The next time he answered days later with 'pay back' by standing directly behind the squat - to clearly be an obvious distraction to this member or anyone using the equipment.
No vacuume involved this 2nd time... just the 'all attitude' staff member standing directly behind the rack watching espn on the big plasma screen (why it hangs directly above the squat rack is evidence of a clearly clueless staff) and the member clearly doing his best to make it clear - asking politely has consequences.
the biggest mistake was complaining to a supervisor.
the next work out resulted in the staff member following this member around the gym throughout the member's entire exercise routine. this member has a fast routine - moving from exercise to treadmill for a cardio burst and back to weights... and the entire time - the clearly 'attitude in place' staff member was always within arm's reach.
lesson learned.
staff members rule - no matter their inappropriate, offensive and intolerant behavior. members in pursuit of a distraction free work-out - who dare to raise a concern or complaint - must suffer the consequences.
