We were set up with Ben Hur through Nationwide Relocations. Since the very first time we spoke to them it has been nothing but problems. We had a pick-up date of Dec 22, 2008 Ben Hur(Oscar) called to see if they could change the date to Dec 24, 2008 for pick-up. I agreed but only on the terms that our stuff would still be delivered on Dec 27th as promised. He was very confident it would be no problems at all. The movers arrive at our house 3 hours later than they were supposed to get there. After taking 6 hours to load my studio apartment they demand that I give them a tip or else they will park the truck in a bad area of the town and if something happens well opppsss. Well the date arrives and they dont. I call to see what time they would be arriveing and to my surprise and disgust find out that they are not even leaving NY until after the New Year. Well this is very upsetting since I was promised it would be no problem at all it would be there not a day later. So I ask him for the weight of the truck and he(Oscar) very very rudely tells me they dont have the weight and wont have it until they leave. So theres not much I can do right so I wait until the Jan 2nd and call them back. This time Osacr procedes to tell me that they truck will not be living NY until Jan 6 2009. Well this is the absolute last day on the contract. So Im infuriated at this point Ive started a new job and dont have any of my clothes so I have to buy new clothes, not to mention new towels to shower with, new shower curtain, new dishes, pots and pans with a lot of other stuff. So I ask them for the weight again Oscar in a rude voice yells at me and says look lady we dont have the damn weight and we wont have it until the truck leaves here. FUnny because I thought that you had a to weigh a truck when crossing state lines. I moved from Ct and they took my stuff to NY. At this point Im really upset. Theres not much I can do but wait. So its Jan 6th and I call to get a weight and a time of delivery. He tells me my stuff weighs 4500lbs ok this is a little bit ridiculous since we were quoted 3367lbs and even took less stuff then we were quoted for. This seems a little odd and yet another way to scam more money out of us. As far as a time he did not have one and wont until tomorrow. We will see what happens when they get here Im sure they will try to hike the price up immensley.
