The owner of Benderson Development, Nathan Benderson, has ripped off my company, and held us responsible for damages done on behalf of his own company. As a local Sarasota resident and business owner, my dental office has been in operation for over 10 years. We’ve established relationships with our patients that are truly important to us, and our motto has always been to meet the needs of our patients first.

About four years ago, we began leasing what appeared to be a clean and professional space from Benderson Development. In no time at all, we realized what a horrible situation we were in. Beneath new carpet were layers of mildew ridden carpet. We called immediately and requested that they remove the old carpet and replace with carpet suitable for a professional medical setting. These guys are like dirty crooks who dress up in suits.

Nathan Benderson threw his lawyers at us - who told us outright that we were responsible for any “damages” to the leasing space. We would have moved at that time – but we were locked down into a 10 year leasing agreement. Before the recession hit, paying for molding smelly carpet wouldn't have left me for broke.

After speaking with many locals and friends across the Sarasota area, we all know the truth about Benderson Development – they leave their tenants in horrible situations and then force them to pay for damages. They also jack up lease rates so high to keep only a certain clientele. They are greedy, ruthless people who only care about themselves and could care less about their tenants. Our dentist office may be forced to close after 10 successful years.

Stay far away from Nathan Benderson and Benderson Development – they are slumlords at heart. Horrible, shady people!!
