Don't buy Warranty, Best Buy September 1, 2009
2 months computer still not repaired
Purchased a Best Buy Computer with additional Warranty for 3 years. Computer sent in for repair on 7-3-09, I still don't have the unit 9-2-09. Warranty runs out on 9-14-09. 4 returns to the factory and I have yet to see the computer. Technician at the store says, that visually the unit looks awful now due to tape being put on the face of the unit! Store and factory is not standing by there warranty to replace the unit. Why did I pay over $200 for the warranty.

Awful treatment
Andrew, the grease monkey at the Denton, Texas Best Buy needs a punch in the face.

I will never ever ever shop there again after the way he treated me. They tried to double bill me for a stereo install/deinstall and he seemed too stoned to realize the problem.

Best Buy needs a good drug test for its employees.

Scam and lies
I was already too late in installing the car audio, due to the busy schedule it was becoming difficult to drive for and hour and get the car audio installed. During this same period I heard that best buy was installing the car audios without any charges and it means completely free. This was what really pushed me to go for it as saving a bite also means a lot. I decided to go there and therefore took and appointment by the car audio department. The Best Buy nearest me had a free installation on all receivers. So I made an appointment at 3 and so I drove the 1 hour down there and once I got there I waited till 4. Then after the kid, yes it was a kid who was installing my car audio, was done installing my receiver, he said that I had to buy more wiring than I had previously bought. I was a bit disturbed that why had I to buy more wire but the thought that it was beginning installed free made me relaxed and so I decided it buy the wiring from them and I ended up paying $240 on a $160 receiver after I bought the 3 wiring harnesses, the bass blockers which I didn't need, extra labor on something that was supposed to be free. By the time I got home I had spent 4 hrs at best buy. Just remember nothing is free it's just a scam to attract the customers so that they come in and then pay for extra expense.

Geek Squad - Customer Service
My complaint:
I am amazed at the lack of accountability from floor geek to corporate "human" customer care representative.

The entire organization uses policy and automated services to deflect responsibility and ownership to its customers.

DO NOT BUY BEST BUY~ they DO NOT care who you are, what your circumstances; there are nooo humans.

I did not talk to ONE person that had an ounce of control or accountability. No matter how many mistakes on their part, I was not worth a dime of the thousands of dollars I spend at their stores.

My Story:
Long story short… I brought a laptop in for repair. It is my son’s in the Air Force. Came to pick it up, had them boot the machine up and it wouldn’t even post. I got a smart a$$ answer. “I’m sure they did a hardware check.” OK???? Now what?

I asked to escalate. I got a 1-800 number. Then they asked the desk girl to call. I got the same voice recording. They “over-nighted” the laptop to Geek City (Yes I said Geek City) in Louisville KY (had to find that later too)

They never marked as a “re-do” so the work was never done. Another week later, no response. Found corporate office numbers. Talked to 3 folks there and still no one that cares. Here I am 24 hours until I go see my son that is serving all of us, can’t even bring him a laptop.

The excuse I hear over and over, sorry I have to follow the process, there is no one to talk to. Oh...and they are soooo sorry.

Geek Squad
I would like to let everyone be aware of the horrible service at the Bel Air Best Buy! I have a camera being repaired by the Geek Squad. It has been almost a month and it is still not fixed. I have to keep calling because for some reason they can not update my new number into the system to call me when its complete??!! I wouldn't mind calling them if it didnt take 20 trys for someone to even pick up a phone!! I asked about the status on the repair before and some girl said it was shipped off to be fixed. I checked online just to make sure and it was still @ the Bel Air store. I called again 2 weeks later and the guy that answered said it just had been sent off to Sony that week. I keep getting the run around and I just want my camera back! Not to mention when I went to drop it off they had to move me to 4 different computers to input my stuff and get out of each others way that I lost my car keys in the process!! Once I get my camera I will be closing out my Card with them and will never go back!

Overcharged
I was in the market to buy a Whirlpool - 9.7 Cu. Ft. Frost-Free Top-Mount Refrigerator Model: ET0MSRXTQ. Best Buy offers this refrigerator, but does not stock it (at least not in Michigan ... I used Best Buy's store locator to find a store with the product in stock).

I could not order the product on-line with a store pick-up option. Delivery costs $70, which I wanted to avoid since the refigerator is small and I could pick it up at a store a couple of miles from my house.

I used the "click to chat" option on the ordering page. The assistant could not answer the question as to how I can place an order on-line to pick it up in the store. Instead her only asstance offer was to provide me the telephone number of the store (which I already had), saying I would have to arrange something with the store. I asked her to make the call and arrangement ... she said she could not.

So, I purchased the item on-line from Lowes for $10 less, including free delivery and it was delivered to my home the next afternoon.

Do not honor their promises
2 Best Buy representatives explicitly said that they would price match any competitors price up to 30 days following the purchase of my laptop. 15 days following the date of purchase, when a better offer was found straight from their own website, their customer service rep said the price match guarantee is actually only valid for 14 days and would do nothing to help or compromise. Best Buy should honor the promises made by their hired and trained employees, who are reasonably expected and trusted to know store policy. This was Best Buys mistake but they made it my problem.

Unacceptable service
I bought Samsung eternity. when I drove home I discovered that the sales person took the SIM card from my old phone and put it in the new one instead of giving me a new one with my new phone, leaving my old phone without a SIM card, ( I inted to give my old phone to my girlfriend to us). I had to drive all the way back to the store. The sale person told me that in best buy they do not give SIM card if the old one is working, something I have never experienced before anywhere else.
The new Samsung eternity did not have User manual or the CD with it either. When I asked the sale person, he said that the phones comes without them. I sent a complain e mail through best buy website but never heard from them. My e mail is [email protected]

poor service
After reading the pages here I realize that I am not the only person who has made the mistake of buying a product from best buy. This is the second appliance I have attempted to buy from best buy. Both times it was a horrible experience. I ordered a range online. The day they called to set up delivery I was given a time between 3-5 pm and within a few minutes she informs me that the item I had already payed for was back ordered. I ask how long would it be? she thens proceeds to tell me that this item is no longer available. Then I was given the 1 888 best buy telephone number to call and then the real nightmare begins. I made 5 calls with a waiting time of at least 20 to 30 minutes each time. Whenever I became annoyed or even hostile I was hung up on. I was never given back to the person I would ask for and whenever I ask to speak to a supervisor I was informed of thier policy to transfer me to an online support staff. Even when I repeatedly ask to not be transferred it did not matter. I was told that it would also take 3 days to get my refund ( I will believe these liars when I see it). Although they charged my bank card and recieved immediate payment I will have to make myself wait until they are ready to give my money back. Then I had to call best buy again to arrange for a refund on the installation I paid for because this is a seperate department. Of course this involves another 45 minutes of hold time because they are sooooo busy with thier absolute customer satisfaction. HOW ARE THESE YAHOOS STAYING IN BUSINESS????? THEY NEED TO JOIN THE RANKS OF OTHER POORLY RAN BUSINESS AND FOLD OUT SO THE ONES WHO REALLY PROVIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE CAN GET THIER BUSINESS. the total time I spent on the phone to get my "pending refund" is 3 hours and 45 minutes. I managed to clean my house while holding because I was bored with the music on the phone. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NEVER BE A BEST BUY CUSTOMER AGAIN AND WHOEVER IS READING THIS NEEDS TO HEED ALL THESE COMPLAINTS AND STAY AWAY FROM ANY MAJOR PURCHASES FROM BEST BUY BECAUSE YOU WILL REGRET IT. THEY ARE A HORRIBLE COMPANY AND UNLESS YOU LOVE BEING ON THE PHONE FOR HOURS DONT BUY FROM THEM!!!

Charged my Credit Card twice
I bought a sony vaio laptop from the best buy in alexandria VA on jefferson Davis Highway and i put half on my credit card and the other half on my check card, when i checked my check card they had charged my card twice for the same price. When i called my bank they told me to call Best Buy and to have them call and they would in return recredit my account for one of the amounts when i called the Best Buy they were rude and not helpful..They were not listening to what i was saying and was very quick to say if you dont like what were sayign then call corporate. They were very unprofessional and handled this situation in a nasty way. I then contacted my bank and hopefully they will only actually take one payment out but in the mean time i have to go without 450.00 for up to 8 days. This is completely ridiculous.
